Official GTPlanet Weekly Rewind Thread, Part Three: Trilogies, Am I Right?

Discussion typically takes place in the comments section, but with that mostly going to the wayside this thread should become a lot more active, all things considered.

Was a little light on the usual content for reasons I shant disclose to avoid any commotion, but I will say from hereon out content other than GT6 will be on a rotation schedule.

How is that going to work when the only real prominent contender is Forza? I'll... figure something out. :P

Also, next week the Rewind turns 1!

You better figure out something, or you're, um.... fired!

And you also have to surprise us with the one year anniversary. I have an idea, call it "GTPlanet Weekly Forward". :P

Wouldn't that imply that I can see into the future? Have to leave something to the imagination, don't I? ;)

As for the anniversary edition, I'm still strung for a good idea and feedback hasn't gone according to plan but I'll come up with something. Hopefully.

For those of you wondering where the Rewind is it won't be published until Saturday, otherwise we'd be commemorating the day before the anniversary. :P

It's going to be a great read, or at least so I hope!

The Anniversary Edition is upon us, and I believe it will mysteriously update itself over the weekend.

Just watched the Forza videos in this week's rewind and it looks like Codemaster and the F1 group has loosen their copyright panties. Hopefully the Yas Marina circuit, Road Atlanta and some of the other tracks will come to GT6. Same with the cars, we already have the Z4 and M3 GT cars, now we just need the C6R, 458 Competizione, and the DBR9. The list goes on and on, but all we can do is hope.

Thanks guys. Like I mentioned, it became more of a project than I had anticipated but why I thought it wouldn't have been to begin with is beyond me. In any case the Rewind has already been updated with a little more added to the details blowout section with some typo sweep-ups.

And, like I promised, last week's Showroom reveals:

I'd like to be honest and give what I hope is recieved as constructive criticism of the Weekly Rewind. Please remember this is only my opinion.

To put things in context I have read and appreciated every one of your Rewinds.

I feel Terror you sometimes get too tied up with the sometimes overwordy story of how you arrived at the articles than telling us what's been going on. This can sometimes feel like padding and detract from the really interesting stuff. Focusing on article content and less repetition of repeated items each week might help. If there's not much to say one week then don't be afraid to keep it brief.

On the other hand, we have had quite a large amount of info about GT6 this week. I would have thought this would be reflected in the weekly site review more than it has. We have had a nearly full car list released and yet still there are more pictures and video of cars from Forza's new game. I am sure you are very excited for FM5 but the balance seems a little out. There are loads of menu and screenshots that could have veen included as a summary of what you can find by trawling through the hundreds of pages of the GT6 video and images thread

Please don't take any of this personally as I'm just giving my own viewpoint. Keep up the good work and I do enjoy reading your weekly review.

Cheers
JSB

What are you referring to in particular?

On the other hand, we have had quite a large amount of info about GT6 this week. I would have thought this would be reflected in the weekly site review more than it has.

GT6 was the single most prevalent topic in this week's Rewind and covered every single news piece from this past week, save for the Nova winning SEMA (which isn't explicitly related to GT6) and the 370Z NISMO giveaway.

Short of me writing a short piece on every single feature the official GT site talks up (which I linked to, by the way) there wasn't much else to have accomplished.

We have had a nearly full car list released and yet still there are more pictures and video of cars from Forza's new game.

The car list is mentioned in the Rewind and further links to the original news post here. As for the pictures and videos, there are definitely more videos representing FM5 (3:1) but there are certainly not more images representing it.

I am sure you are very excited for FM5 but the balance seems a little out.

I'm not sure how it could possibly be imbalanced when Forza (as of last week) is on a bi-weekly schedule and is more often than not limited to one section out of the entire article.

The only reason it has appeared to be long is due to the Showroom reveals.

Some of which were used. Not linking to a relevant GT6 discussion thread was definitely an error on my behalf though.

That would be impossible since I care as much as I do. ;)

What are you referring to in particular?

Probably everything up to just before GTPicture of the week. Personally I think the introduction could be a little briefer most weeks. There's a lot of description about how the article was written or inspired and it sometimes feels like it takes a while to get to the really interesting stuff.

Regarding the forum - maybe a few alternative highlights from the week on the forums could be of interest (if you've noticed any).

Regarding everything else - I hear your points and fair enough. I don't have anything to add other than maybe you could just have links to this thread and the twitter page. When the shameless plug stuff is repeated each week I tend to gloss over it which is a pity as I probably miss the odd extra nugget of info.

Cheers

Sorry gents, I've been terribly distracted by FM5. :P

Rewind will be up later on tonight or first thing tomorrow morning (12:01 AM EST), promise.

I still enjoy your Rewind thingy. Makes me feel "informed" and "entertained".

And stahp being distracted by video games. I`m okay with gurls... :D

Glad you guys liked it because I don't.

Then again, I'm not looking at it the same way you all are.

I feel special, read the Rewind about half an hour early (it's still Thursday) at 11:25 PM CST.

Can't believe it's been one week since that last one! Time goes by so fast.

[EDIT] So lonely here... help!

@Terronium-12 Typo in 2nd paragraph (forget the 3 in PlayStation):

Gran Turismo 6 sits in a rather unique position, as it’s likely to be the final AAA first-party title released on the PlayStation

EDIT: Looks like you fixed it.
