Spending 3 hours on the trot with full concentration is just brutal... ...Because of that I don't think a lot of people will participate in the Supra, as there's less tangible reward compared to the other 2 Championships.
All the better for me if some of the big names in my region focus on Nations or Manufacturers instead. Gives me reason to hope that I can make a live event via the Supra Cup, pending further competition details as they are released.

I'd argue that it would be good for the spectacle if you didn't see the same names in every single competition. Some dedicated players might attempt to compete in all events, but others will pick and choose based on how much time they have and/or what they feel gives them the best chance to qualify for a final. The net result being that we get those new faces that Famine was alluding to during the discussion over last seasons superstars schedule farce.

Anyone know if ineligible countries from the 2 FIA Championships apply on this one too?..
Or is this open for all countries?

Participation requirements Owner of the Gran Turismo Sport for PS4® and PS4®software and also a GR Supra owner on the Gran Turismo. Participants must be six years old or older*3

Am i the only one that finds this car terrible to drive? I love the idea of the series, but if we can’t change chassis settings, I don’t consider participating.

The stock toe and LSD setup is always wrong and terrible to drive in all PD road cars. Boggles my mind why they always do this ever since GT5. I don't mind locked settings as it gives a level playing field (even considering some cars will naturally suit some driving styles more than others), but when the stock setting is borked it makes for a terrible drive and often unrealistic techniques to get top times. Plus it's not good promotion for Toyota (which is the main point of this event).

I agree it's nice to see some new faces at the top. Just as I was thinking this though, Nik Makozi has lit up the Aussie leaderboards. I guess aliens will always be aliens

Just adding to this. With Toyota "asking" for feedback, maybe this is one of the suggestions they remedy. Set the suspension settings to the actual car. Could be a start.

Last night, I was finally able to reach into 1:56 territory. Best feeling ever. Now I'm scared of the actual race.:nervous:

...this year it is possible that there is also the Nissan GT Sport Cup like past year?
I'd like that, but doubt it. Nissan don't even run a car in Blancpain GT any longer. They've scaled down everything bar Super GT and Formula E.

Does it seriously have to be on a Saturday? So we need to prepare for 3 races on the same day. I hate to be critical but does PD realize there are other days in the week?

Not only that but it's summer for crying out loud, the two official seasons and this all in the summer all taking place on Saturdays, so if someone has plans to do something on a Saturday in the summer it's tough luck. I'll get in as many races in as I can but I don't plan on spending every Saturday inside playing video games, even I have my limits hehe.

I'd be able to play a lot more in the winter when us Canadians are hibernated in our dens for 8 months. I guess it's "winter" right now for you Southern hemisphere folks but the majority of the player base are in the Northern hemisphere.

This does however give me hope that one day there may be a few different options for online Championships. And I do like the format, one race a week, with a nice break in the middle. Who knows how long the Nations and Manufacturer series will be supported. When and if they run their course, give us 7 different championships one everyday of the week last 2-3 months a season.

Just tried this with the controller.

Not doing the events with a controller.

So if I can't find a smoking deal on a G29 and get it here by next weekend, I may have to skip this. The car is terrible.

Edit: Found one on Craigslist, barely used with shifter for $200. Picking up Friday. In the mean time, I am ready...

Some are bagging Toyota for saying they're looking for feedback on the Supra, in game. In this podcast, Sean Seamer, CEO of Virgin Australia Supercars(VASC), speaks on using the players in esports as a way to test the future cars in VASC.

Think I'll just wait til the race weekend. I'm 0.170 from the 10th spot in the Top 10. Just when I get 0.4 seconds up, I start losing speed towards the end of the lap. Free Practice becomes an obsession. Won't mean anything on race day.

I agree, I like to use free practice just to get used to the track and quickly set an optimal time. Then I'll head to lobbies and see how close I can get to that time with tire wear on. Usually it's about a second off depending on how much fuel I can burn in a 10 minute qualifying sim.

That looks awesome, well done! I'm delighted we can use our own liveries in this championship - mine are all very basic (don't have anyway near your skill) but I always prefer at least a respray rather than running stock!!!
Thanks! :D
I was super happy when I found out we can use liveries.
Ehhh lol I mean this livery feels basic to me haha. The red and white are all basic shapes. I just had to find a way to line them all up well without masking anything, so if I wanted to change its base color from black to a special color, I can do that without any worries of the masking showing.

We'll visit all real circuits, bar Blue Moon Bay and Tokyo Expwy `South Inner Loop. Just replace those two with Brands Hatch and Autopolis.

I noticed that too. Also missing Tsukuba but that track is so overused in dailies I won't miss it :P Nurb 24h is used twice oddly enough.

Yeah, just thought about any new circuits that may get added. Nurb 24H coming up. Maybe some circuits get switched around.

Added myself to the list of 1:56.x lap times tonight. Found some time over my earlier efforts in Sector 3, and then it was just a matter of getting the first two sectors right to capitalise on it. That wasn't easy though given how loose this car is on Sport Hards, and the only real positive to the Supra's handling is that everyone has to deal with it in this series.

Thanks! :D

You did a good job there, I've still to make mine for the championship and actually practice with the car but I'll post mine up here soon.
