Welcome to the World Touring Car Series (WTCS for short), an offline GT5 series like the race series' held back in the GT4 days. If you want competitive racing here at GTP while the PSN is down, this is the series for you.

The Rules
  • Cars are to be limited to 460PP.
  • Racing tyres are to be used, with all three types (Hard, Medium and Soft) available to increase the strategy choices.
  • Races will be 60km in length, with some exceptions (endurance races and two race weeks)
  • No more than two wheels off the racing surface at all times (mistakes are accepted though). As well as this, try to avoid contact with AI
  • All races are to be done in arcade mode
  • Tuning parts allowed (all stages upto and including, for example you can use a Sports Exhaust or you could do only stage one engine tuning) - Parts in italics must be bought: Weight reduction stage 3, Engine tuning stage 3, ECU, Racing exhaust, Racing air filter, Stage 1 Turbocharger, 5 or 6 speed close ratio transmission, fixed sports suspension.
  • Front aero parts and wings are allowed, but you must install these before installing any other tuning parts.
  • Practice laps are to be done in arcade mode, as running practice laps in GT mode will break the engine in and may make the car go over the PP limit.
  • The Power Limiter tuning option is not allowed to be used.

The Cars
There are 157 cars to choose from. Remember that cars must be limited to 460PP.

Wow. Great idea and prep work here. I like the idea of including those of us who have crappy racing hours into the fray. I would be on this like white on rice if I had a PS3 and the game. But alas I will have to watch with interest and hope that you get a ton of competitors. I'm sure nothing would make you happier. GL from up above :sly:.

Thanks oldmodelt. It's a shame your son decided to get an Xbox instead of a PS3, but still, at least you can play Forza, which is also a great game (plus it has V8 Supercars).

I've just realised that I've had a slight fail in the organisation of this series, as it was intended for people who have slow internet connections. I've included a Performance point limit, however Performance points were only introduced in a recent update, along with ballast (which I had also planned to add).

EDIT: If you can't get the latest updates and therefore have no way of knowing the PP of your car, just post in this thread with your top two car choices and whether you want the car to be either power orientated (more power, more weight) or weight orientated (less power, less weight) and I will tune a car to get as close to the 460PP limit as possible.

Send me a message when you are going to get the series underway

I've edited the first post to include the date for the start of the first round, although it doesn't look like we will have enough competitors by then.

Also, in future, edit your posts instead of making a new post if you are the last person who has posted in the thread.

Due to lack of participation I've decided to cancel this series.

Due to the PSN being down for an indefinite amount of time, I've decided to re-open this series.

I'd like to join.
