Wazzzabi Tom! I just came to the board recently and saw a few of your posts and saw you are in Japan now. Just curious what a fellow gaijin is doing over in little big tokyo?

Hey SiRDelSol... funny how your name is one of my many cars that I've owned... I've been in Japan for about 11 years now working as a mechanic at Toyota... just waiting to be promoted to TRD...

he lives in japan... his family moved there... at least that is the impression i got... he is not that old man... 22/23... or so... so if you think that he was mechanic when he was 11 and toyota called him over to japan you are mistaken...

Mechanics get sent over seas????

I moved when I was like 12...

Just my dad and my best friend. My dad and I don't like to deal with our family because they are a bunch of "moochers." That's what my dad tells me. We're better off here anyways, because it was so much better than living in New York... And I'm 23 just for the record.

hakujin are loved over there anyways... i remember when i went as a homestay back four years ago i was practically raped...

Yeah, the Hakujin are loved over there...almost to the point where its scary. What did you do in Japan Bungee?

Sorry Tom, didn't mean to give you the wrong impression, I just stayed in Yokohama (Tsurumi to be exact) for a year to study there. I wish it could have been longer, but oh well. I am getting ready to start an internship with Toyota here in about a week. I am only 20 and still in college, but after I graduate I want to go back to Japan atleast for a little stay.

So you moved there when you were younger? Are you hakujin?? If you are that has to be pretty neat to be fluent in Japanese and be white. I remember when I would ride the train and everyone would look at me until I started to speak japanese (even though it wasn't fluent) and then they would just look away! Japan is really an interesting place.

Yeah, I'm fluent in Japanese yet I'm Italian. My dad is too, but my best friend still has trouble. When I first started racing, they all considered me as a tourist just wanted to see. Then I challenged someone, and they asked me what kind of car I had. And I showed them my AE86 (at the time it was regular 4A-GE). Then I beat my first challenger who drove a RPS13. Then as I progressed, my drift got better. Since my dad knows everybody, that helps too. I remember when I didn't know any of this language. I lauged at someone while I was at a store with my dad, and the girl got really pissed. Later did I find out she said that I was a handsome young man or something like that...
