Great Boston Molasses Flood happened. What a bizarre and deadly thing :odd:

1951: Ilse Koch "The B*tch of Buchenwald" is sentenced to prison for her crimes at a concentration camp her husband was commandant at. One of the things she would do is collect prisoners skins. If she saw a prisoner with tattoos she liked, she would have them killed and their skin removed to make lampshades or various other items.

Robert E. Lee was born.
Confederate general Robert E. Lee is perhaps the most iconic and most widely respected of all Civil War commanders. Though he opposed secession, he resigned from the U.S. Army to join the forces of his native state, rose to command the largest Confederate army and ultimately was named general-in-chief of all Confederate land forces.

John Moses Browning was born January 23, 1855 in Ogden, Utah, U.S.A., where his father settled after the Mormon Exodus of 1847. It was in his father’s shop that John Moses first learned the art and secrets of gunsmithing.

I was in a high school trig class, something was said on the pa system and then we were allowed to watch the news. Back then they would wheel in tv's on kart stands. Stop making me feel old lol.
