A race series based around the one lap of america idea
Scoring
First place is awarded 5x the number of entrants, each succeeding position is awarded 5 points less than the previous.
Example
20 entrants. First = 100 points, second = 95 points, third= 90 points and so on.
0 (zero) points will be awarded for a DNS or DNF
Once a car has been entered it must be used by that driver for the whole of the series.
Vehicle Modifications are free the only part the car must retain is the original gearbox. Racing exhaust systems are banned in line with one lap of america.
A minimum P/W ratio of 2.5 has also been set for scrutineering. The car may be run in after scrutineering has occured but no parts may be fitted or removed.
Hybrids, prize, and racing cars are not eliagable for this event
Tyre's
In the spirit of the one lap of america competion the control tyre selected for this series is the sports tyre (T1).
Events
Events will consist of a time trial at the selected tracks. This will be run mainly as a hot lap competition but there may be a couple of events that use a standing start from the pole position grid slot. A trip to the test course for use of its 0-400m facility is also planned.
Each entrant receives a maximum of 20 laps per event, total mileage and best clean lap have to be submitted for each event. Mileage will count towards bonus points at the end of the series.
Each event will be run over the course of a weekend (announced friday, times to be submitted by midnight sunday)
This series will consist of between 8 to 12 events
If you wish to enter this event post details of the car you wish to use in this thread. You may change the car you wish to enter until registration is closed.
okay guys I'd like to know if this is possible and any ideas that the concept could be improved so what do you think??
