BMW Series M at NR for 200 points

Using my worn out M-Coupe with 308 hp and Dotini´s setup at GT Vault:

http://www.gtvault.com/gt4/setup-view/s_sid::7314/BMW-M-Coupe/

I only changed the nitrous to 25 to be able to use it more frequently. After a quick preview of Sathe 1 it was lineup #7 in my PAL version with the A1 cars in the required order with the M-Coupe on pole, followed by the M3, the M3 CSL, the M3 GTR and the M5. I got in front at Aremburg cutting the grass. Dont´t interfer with the first two cars if you pass them. You will need them to hold up the stronger cars as long as possible. After the long uphill section the CSL and the M5 where 2-3 seconds behind me. I was holding them off until I entered the long straight. At the corner entering it I was running wide and the CSL passed me. I drafted him and used the rest of my nitrous. The M5 was right behind me entering the last turns and past the CSL and me. I got him in the last corner, forcing him into the grass. MOV 2 sec. Very intense and fun racing.

Thanks for your citation of my setup and congratulations on an exiting and memorable race.

Doing some races in the French one-make section again. After this, I only have to do the Alpine races.

Citroen 2CV

The hardest part of this championship is waiting for this slow *beep* car to run his 15000 kilometers (9000 miles) at the test track.
No need to qualify, just using NOS is enough. But remember to remove your racing flywheel on Monaco.

the settings:
N1/N3 tyes, all non-power mods, 200 ballast.
Gearing at auto: 3
Kept everything else standard.

The races went down easy and straightforward. No real comments here.

Renault Clio Trophy

For this I bought a used Clio Sport V6 '00.
I equipped it with a racing exhaust, chip and used R3/R4 tires with a ballast of 80 set all the way to the rear. Also, all non-power mods.

Settings (if not mentioned in here they were kept standard)
Ride height: 90/90
damper bounce: 4/4
damper rebound: 8/8
Camber angle: 3.0/2.0
Brake balance: 8/12

Slide the autoset around according to the track.

Line-up:
Clio Sports Trophy V6 24V Race Car '00
Clio Sports Trophy V6 24V Race Car '00
Clio Sports Trophy V6 24V Race Car '00
Clio Sports Trophy V6 24V Race Car '00
Clio Sports Trophy V6 24V Race Car '00
Clio Renault Sport V6 24V '00

I found these races relatively easy. Suzuka and El Capitan feature standing starts. Both I won very easy and clean. Deep forest was a walk in the park as well, MOV 11 seconds. This concludes the walk in park.

The other two races are Motegi and Tsukuba, I found that the opposition is stronger at straight line speed. Motegi and Tsukuba took me almost a full NOS tank to catch up to the leader. With some light blocking I won both races. To check I ran these two races again and qualified for both. If you qualify for both you should have no problems, so consider these a jog in the park, but remember: keep off the grass at all times.

Renault Megane Cup

Aah, the Megane cup, I heard and read much about this on GTplanet. So I came well prepared, I had the trauma center on my speed dial. However, after 5 races with a car that has arguably the biggest "rear" in the game, I came out on top with relative ease.

First, I ran my Megane for a neat 16000+ kilometers at the test track, ending up with 125hp and 2.5 million flies on my windscreen.

I ran the car with N1/N3 tyres and a ballast of 200 set all the way to the back. Also, all non-power mods, but I removed the racing flywheel for a standard one at Laguna Seca and Cote d'Azur.

Now for the Settings:
Springs: 5.8/4.8
Ride height: 79/79
Damper bounce: 4/4
Damper rebound: 8/8
Camber: 3.5/2.5
Toe: 0/-3
Stabiliser 3/3

Brakes: 8/12

Tranny: used the tranny trick with final @ 3.400 as a standard, adjust per race according to what you need.

Driving aids: 3/3/1

All in all, these races weren't the struggle I expected. I did qualify for all races, and I needed to, but with some blocking and driving conservative race lines I won.

Suzuka was pretty easy, just hug the inside of the apex, when someone tries to pass, let your car run a little wide and push them into the sands. Opera is a tiny and small track, no elevation, so get the max out of your acceleration, if you know the track it will be easy to pull away a few seconds in the middle part. Blocking is required here as well, just make sure when you get overtaken at the end of the long straight, you have an option of sending them into the wall.
For Laguna Seca and Monaco, just remember to remove your racing flywheel, it has a impact on your setup and slows you down when climbing a hill. Seoul was probably the easiest, no real tips here.

Almost done with France now, just the Alpine cup left where I keep getting beaten. The A110's are way to fast. I searched for some Dotini magic on gtvault for this car but found none. So any tips would be very helpful.

I'm trying to win races for as many points as possible; Without any AI contact, No use of Nos and staying on the track and off the walls at all times.

These are the French Manufacturer Events which I was able to win for 200 A-Spec points under the above-mentioned conditions.

(I'll also add that I'm not using qualifying either; it's probably worth mentioning as I haven't made reference to that in any of my previous posts).

You go shotamagee! 👍

Happen to be passing by, and thought I would offer some moral support.

Looks a little lonely in these threads now.

Hope you can get to 100,000.

Much appreciated, for anyone else interested, I'm up to 67478 points recorded, with the Italian & UK one make races left, and then the Beginner, Prof & Extreme halls to do, which look like they will all have to be done for maximum points if I'm going to get close to 100000.

Good luck and we are all cheering for you :)

I was able to get through the Speedster Trophy over the weekend, and I gotta say it was one of the more fun and competitive events I ran. I wanted to spend as little as possible without having to resort to as much of the dirty driving I grew accustomed to... However, the race at Infineon had me wall riding the last hairpin...

Seattle was a blast, being able to use the oversteer to help with the middle section. Unfortunately, my final saved run was a bit sloppy, but I think others would have a lot of fun with this as well...

If others are still playing!!!??? ;)

Here's a link nk to the capture, with the settings screen included. Only having 203HP wasn't as big of a handicap at Seattle as the other races...

I recently finished the Peugeot 206 Cup, and it was kinda fun... After I figured out how to drive the little booger (206cc).

My problem was matching the power with the traction, as I was getting way too much wheelspin when exiting corners. You can save a lot of money by going with R2 tires and only 205HP (Racing Muffler, Chip, NA2). Of course, Nitrous helped, but the opponents don't do very well taking the turns at these tracks.

If you choose to beef up your 206, you may need to use softer tires, which usually don't last very long, and may also need to go with a custom tranny with very long gears... To expensive and unnecessary IMO. I was able to get the sweep with the standard tranny and only a Sports Suspension, putting 1.0 degree of front camber to help prevent understeer. Having a 3ple Clutch and Racing Flywheel helped.

But the biggest key was *NOT* mashing on the accelerator when exiting turns. Anytime I'd hear wheelspin, I'd lift slightly and wait to go WOT. There are also plenty of spots where a front tire would raise off the ground, so perhaps others who know how to use an LSD might find such helpful.

It's been almost 6 years since I've raced at some of these tracks. As such, there was plenty of slop. Dirty driving wasn't necessary for any of these races, but if/when I'd lose a lead, you could be sure I'd live up to my name!

Anyhow, I'll have some uploads later. Until then...

As you can see (a few posts) above, I went with the 206 RC but used R3,R5 tyres (money not an issue for me) which lasted fine for all the 206 Cup events.
I don't remember having any significant traction problems, but I did have the Aids set to 001 and also installed the Full LSD (which I feel helps with your forwards traction vs cornering ability balance).
That championship is fun, but it's definitely one of the easier ones to do for 200pts from memory.
