I thought they where there but you can't choose what car or how many laps you want to race.
Will this change as we progress through the game?
Cheers
Why would you be able to choose how many laps to race in a one make race in career? Maybe we are talking about different things. One make races are in the game (the first ones are in National B) but you don't get to choose the amount of laps or which car is specific to the event?
In GT5 you could do one-make races at whatever track you want, with whatever car you want for as many laps as you want. This was actually some of the "best" single player racing in GT5.

Bring back dealership races!
Yeah, that and the races... whatever they were called where on a custom track, you could choose to do a time trial or you could choose a practice race on the custom track you chose. And they'd put you on the custom track with a bunch of cars (15 I guess). I think the mix of cars varied either randomly or dependent upon what car you chose, but I'm not sure.
The bunch of cars were a very odd mix, but I found a lot of cars that were compatible with a lot of them, and spent most of what little single-player time I spent, doing that actually.
Mostly to test custom tracks.
But I rather wished there was that option with the regular tracks, rather than just 1-make, as well.
It was the closest it came to GT4's "family cups" - which man, I adored those family cups in GT4!!!

Hope some of these things are what Kaz mentioned in the interview that are planned, but can't be mentioned yet!

What you're talking about is ringing a bell... But I don't remember exactly. I think what you're talking about wasn't a race. ?Feature that similar to an open track day, multiple random AI cars scatter around the racetrack you choose, unlimited laps. Do you remember the name it was called in GT series? or its the "family cup" you mentioned.
