Ghost launching is a, launch advantage. Been debated, but it's said to give a better launch and compensate for excessive wheel spin. In the lobbies I'm in, a ghost launcher gets kicked if he doesn't do a normal launch.
 
I don't believe in ghost launching for the boards but in all reality ghost launching is simply another way of letting off the brake or e-brake. A misconception is that it reduces wheel spin or any of the latter. In all honesty, launching with E-brake light off is equivalent or even faster than ghost launching. Back when we didn't know about the e-brake being faster and all that jazz, the ghost launch was banned because it allowed the user to get off the line much faster than the usual brake user.

Now that we have all this down to more of a science and we have pretty much discovered everything and put all of out hypothesis through the ringer, it's really not a huge advantage anymore.

Typically, only an old school gt5 player will ghost launch from my experience.
 
I've only seen ghost launching allowed for flag lag...and only if he asks and the other guy he's racing doesn't mind. I haven't seen a ghost launcher in a long time though I'm very very selective of the lobbies I enter...if nitrous and aids are not disabled I won't even consider entering.

I'd rather use full ebrake to allow a flag a better chance at an even launch than him ghost launching.

I usually just hold full ebrake against a flag. Unfortunately even this method doesn't help certain people who suffer flag lag. I also noticed that when you let a flag ghost launch when they unghost they go flying half way down the track.

I full e-brake unless im against coco <.< then I have to use half
 
When theirs no lag i usually have 1/4 - 1/2 on most people and 3/4 to full out on the quickest guys. I usually run full out on the auzzies and an half to 1 car behind. Darkturtle was in the lobby tonight and i saw him ghost launch on people. When i ran him he didn't use it fortunately probably because he knew it wouldn't work against me. My net improved a lot tonight but earlier on running JD i had terrible lag.

I kicked him for ghost launching. Gave him a warning, he did it again, so he got kicked.
 
I would like to claim the Viper Srt10 06 spot and the 3000GT VR-4 Turbo (J) '98 spot north American board and I would like to call out Star Drift 3g for the Viper Gts 02 spot north American board
