I agree, this game is definitely growing on me. Now with the recent 1.05 patch, there is online drifting for points to get on a leaderboard and you get rewards and points for doing online races, good enough for me! Thanks PD

I have been drifting on Forza 3 since it came out and me and my mates dont use the points, they are annoying and unrealistic. Points dont really mean much to how good you are. Just Drift because you enjoy it and have fun not because you want some numbers. The real test of a Drifter is probably tandeming and just being able to drift a circuit confidently not how many points he/she gets.
Hi there!

The reason I put up my rank, was to show I actually spent some time drifting in Forza3 and wasn't just some beginner noob with no cred. 10,000 rank is FAR from perfect, but it does show I did give some good seat time.

And lets clarify things right now, I played public lobbies more than I competed, and I enjoyed the points system, as it was a way to have fun, see where you stand and make money for me at the same time. You don't always have ppl willing to judge while playing online drift events, but in F3 you didn't have to.

So stop beating a dead horse because this is MY opinion, not yours.

And stop trying to demean me because apparently it's the devil for liking any kind of point structure, because that just makes you come off as being childish :D :D :D
Having a 10k rank is not good really. Points drifting and public lobbies dont show any skill. You have a car with way to much power, taking the slowest line, which just makes you a really slow drifter.

Me coming off as childish is a good way to end your post. Took some thought and really drove home what you were trying to say. Good job on that eventho you posted this a few posts after.

I find it hilarious you would go and find the supposed old/bad videos then say you dont want to post up your new videos and then you insult him. Iam sure you know exactly where your footage is. I know I would if I did videos.

Post yours up too I would love to see them. The quality of those videos are horrible, and they are pretty old with exception of the 4th one. But I'm not going to waste my time uploading new stuff just for this thread. I've shot for FD and Speed before but you do not get to keep the footage genius.

And you are talking about the "maturity of Forza players" yet you resort to trying to dis my videos.

Frank. It took you that long to try and come up with that?

Go back to your video games :D :D :D

I didnt know there was a time limit on posting on the internet. Not everyone comes to the site everyday. Acting like that really shows just how immature you really are and also shows to me you are ignoring question I asked you.

Also to answer your question. I forgot about this thread.

If points shouldn't matter in drifting to some users, then why have a leader boards?

The leaderboards were there in forza as an attempt to 'legitimize(spelling?)'
drifting within the game. But to be honest, the main forza drifting community doesn't bother with them.
Also, Hello there Mr [BLKJ](See what i did thur?) Slaphappy.

I come to this site or at least try to. Editing and reminding people of what rules or trying to help out is hard. I try following leaderboards once, but I found out that the first place really didn't deserve it.

There aren't any online point drifting shindigs in GT5. There are single player drift runs with points, no multiplayer ones though. I'm actually laughing right now that you said that you'll sell the game if theres no "Point Drifting" online, If your seriously gonna do that, thats just MASSIVE stupidity right there. IMO (and in many other peoples opinion) drift points were one of the stupidest thing EVER in FM3.

There is a premium S15, right there in the Nissan dealer, you must be blind to not see it. No where as good looking, pshh you b trollin son.

Actually, go ahead and sell it, after re-reading the OP, you don't even deserve to play Gran Turismo, go back to playing your arcade racer with its drift points.

THANK god there are no points like forza 3 online....thats all i can say at the moment. :)

OH MY GOD; HE HAS ARRIVED!!!

Man its good to see you over here Shenanigans!! Can i add you on PSN? Youve probably got this whole dirft thing down in Gt5 right? Teach me please!!!

the simple matter to alot of people, I would hedge a bet is...

Point's and leader boards make it

a - easier to judge

b - scalable

c - able for 2 mates to slog it out and gloat at how much better the other is...

just my 2 cents...:ouch: my head hurts after reading this thread...

Fine Frank, I'll stoop down to your level and answer you, since you are crying that I wont.

Ok first off, Just a few posts up I say myself that I know 10k rank isn't anything special, so what's the point of repeating what I have already said??

Second, Points drifting and public lobbies are what I enjoyed, and yeah, points did show skill, what planet are you from? That was the whole point. I said it before, but I'll repeat it again, for you, While racing in public lobbies you could see who was legit and who was (in a way) cheating for points. It wasn't hard for me to figure out who and judge who I want to try and beat score wise. (Got it champ?)

Third, I have a car with too much power?? Eh, pardon me but I do not remember ever drifting with you online? I'm sure you are forgettable but still I usually have a pretty good memory... So how can you even try to critique the way I drift?

People asked for videos as proof, I provided, it doesn't matter how old they are, I provided proof that I was legit. And then yeah that other dude tried to insult my videos, which is a low blow I would never do that to anyone else, so YEAH I did say something back to him. The fact that I do not have any new videos online doesn't mean anything, I love how the internets work and your silly claims.

This video is from 2009: http://blip.tv/file/2988841 so there goes the old video problem.

I think you need to calm down son.
k?

p.s. I'm done with this thread, the poll speaks for itself, I'm not the only one that would like points, funny right?
I wont be replying to this thread again :D

Let's go play nfs underground 2 and drift if you want points, you come on a gt fan made forum and start trolling around, take your opinion and go play f3, we will be all happy with it.
Go on edrifting forums for some event's, they're doing it for ages without a random point system and all went right since.

Have fun.

O you mad.
Sure did take you long enough and you even put up a picture relating to your post. Good Job.

I gotta add you.

dedicated drift matches online is all we need, with time or lap limits for replay/cash/exp purposes.

I hate never entering the race mode in drift lobbies so I get no footage or photos, so I have to atart drift lobbies and set it to 10 laps or ao and start the clock once its half full or more.

thats all we need. the community in gt5 drifting is much more mature and capable of judgement by peers, the incorporation of points would only be nice for earning more cash/xp drifting online to afford, mod, and drift higher end cars.

fact of the matter is they have points offline single player, and in the seasonal events, so why not carry it over for online racing rooms? its retarded not to really ... doesnt hinder live judged competitions from happening still.

We all want online drift contest like NFS:Shift, it was very cool and funny, is it too hard to make this thing, no it isn't. Still waiting
