My friends and I have this now and then, we just reconnect again and again and we get in after about max 5 min of retrying.

Guys, I had this again last night.

A friend was trying to get in to my lounge but kept getting the error. He then created his own lounge and I tried to enter. Each time we got the 774 error. I think I must have tried at least 10 times in total.

Now remember my PS3 is in a DMZ.

So, I brought up the XMB and checked my network settings. I noticed that uPnP was listed as not available. I then logged in to my router on my lap top to check the settings, uPnP was enabled in the router settings.

So, I quit GT5, went back to network settings in the XMB and re-connected to my network from scratch ensuring that uPnP was switched on. This all took no more than 2 minutes to complete.

I ran a connection test, it confirmed uPnP was available.

I fired up GT5 again, went straight to community and tried to join my friends lounge fully expecting to get the 774 error again. But no, I went straight in, not a problem. We played online for over 2 hours. I left the lobby and came back several times to add a few extra cars to my favourites list, do an oil change etc. Each time I reconnected without a hitch.

Now I cannot be sure that fixing the uPnP availability actually fixed the error as I obviously had to disconnect and then reconnect to the GT servers by virtue of quitting the game to amend the network settings. It is worth a try though if you are experiencing this issue.

If your DMZ is setup correctly, then UPnP isn't needed... Turn DMZ off if UPnP working properly (opening up every port on your router is not advised!).

I think i mentioned it before, but definitely check for router firmware updates too...

Guys, I read something but I don't know if this is accurate. Apparently, the "My Lounge" rooms are the most buggy of all (the little coffee mugs that appears in your profile under Community). I've read that in order to escape all these problems you're better off creating a room and sending your friends the room code.

Does anyone have any experience with this, could this be true?

I have experience of this. My PSN friends have a Thursday evening get together, & I haven't been able to join for the last 3 weeks. My PS3 is in DMZ, & I've tried through the community section, & using their room number in my lounge - doesn't make any difference at all - connects to server, but will not join the room.

Is there still no news from Polyphony/Sony on this one as it's really beginning to wind me up?

There is no rhyme or reason for this....is just a random thing. Trust me...I know. Me and my buddy have been dealing with this 4 nights a week since the game came out. No matter what the settings are, it either works or doesn't. We've been rejected when we find the room in the lobby, use the room number or join through the lounge.

Seriously....how sad is it that in Prologue, 2 players had a 100% chance of racing in the same race, on the first try, every night and now GT5 is here and we need to spend 15minutes rolling the dice trying to get into the same race. It is by far one of the biggest fails ever.

It's just one of the MANY things that make no sense in this game. It's such a collection of failures it is astonishing. It's so sad that no matter how or when they fix everything in this game, Kaz and the rest of those bums will still go down as biggest underachievers in the history of gaming.

How insane is it that 1,000's of users will enjoy a game so much while admitting to how bad it sucks???LOL

i changed something on my Modem on the PC,
Now i checked my PS3 and i got NAT Type 1 (hell yeaa) and it shows 13 mbp/s is that good? o.O
