Online ideas

OK IMO the online system at the moment fails, epicly. If they keep this for the FULL GT5 it's not going to be that fun.
Personaly I think they should set it out like how MW and W@W is, with a private lobby and a public lobby. This would work far better that how it is at the moment because at the moment there's only 6 tracks, in the full version obviously there's gonna a LOT more. you can't have a race for EVERY SINGLE track people would end up being spread out too much, so if they have it like cod5 and have a random track pick (include a vote to skip option though) you could play every track with a good number of player.

What are your opinions of this matter?

Firstly I would start with private rooms. Fully customizable. That sorts out a great deal of online issues instantly. If you don't like the events on offer then other events that suit you better can be made instantly.

Its a huge shame that this element was left out of GT5P but it will make all the difference in GT5.

One of my online ideas is the possibility to:

- Rent (a sort of a virtual ebay)
- Sell (a sort of a virtual ebay)
- Trade
- . . .

Some cars from your garage to your online friends.

note: no real money, just credits used from GT.

ex:
- If I win the same car twice why not to rent or exchange it for another car that I dont have in my garage.

or

- If I need a special car for a championship (like manufacturer events) why not to rent one online.

Its just a idea but the point is some cars that you buy are just for 1 race event and than you never race him again, and with this system you save money that can be use in other purchases.

1. Ability to Bet your car against someone in a 1on1 race.
2. This is gonna be set up like the nba playoffs. 16 racers enter the tournament. The racers are split into 2 sparate sides of 8. then put in order from best to worest. the best player races the worst player 1on1, the second best racer races the second worst racer in your side and so on. After these races there will be 4 racers left on each side. The 4 racers will also be assined to race against someone 1on1. Then there will be 2 racers on each side, the winner of each side will face each other in a final race.
3. a tag team race where one racer races to a certain point and then his teammate will take control of the car.
4. A ranking system.
5. all cars allowed in online.

1)Private rooms(duh!!)
2)Auction House:this adds hours of replay value in F2 with the community doing paint jobs and tunes
3)Tournament/League support: This would be fun, people could set up a series like Le Mans and GT5 would do all the stat tracking.
4)DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!!

Basically what I'm saying is copy Fora 2's online setup and improve on it.

dedicated servers instead of p2p server\ DAMAGE- private lobbies online trade- sell buy between players. Alot stuff.

basic:

- carbon-copy of F1 Champion Edition/Race Pro online racing system will do for next 10 years as long as it stable
- voice chat through game or XMB, even if it halves the field due to bandwith issues, thank you
- replay, set-up and photo data sharing

advanced:

- some kind of auctions is welcomed - strictly in-game Cr
- various community features through interconnected online profile as seen in Socom or Killzone 2
- some kind of RemotePlay option for PSP in case of GT Mobile ever come to life - from playing B-Spec, access to comunity features to auctions, data-sharing ad so on

More than enough for the first GT that will feature propper online.

1. No, that sounds like pink slips, wich only fits in street racing games...
2. ???
3. If you mean during a endurance, I agree.
4. Ranking does already excist in GT5P...
5. Not sure what you mean here either. Why wouldn't all cars be allowed, that'd depend on how you customize your own online event (if GT5 will allow this that is).
