Online Problems....

recently i have tried to get on GT5 and with the ethernet cable attached it seems to take forever to load.. to the point where you can wait 20 mins!

also loading the tracks and getting online races take ages aswell.

anyone else experiencing this?
 
Turn off the console, plug the cable and restart it.
Still doing it?
 
ive been suffering from some strange problems aswell.
it takes ages to connect.and then when it dose it instantly disconects.It dose it about 7/8 times and then everything seems fine,but all off a sudden it dose it again.Maybe its just my crappy Japanese conection????.
 
Hello this is my first post on gtplanet and yeah moonman79 ive been having the same problems recently its very strange because it never used to happen until these last few days any people out there who can figure out whats happening please ?
 
HI folks.. it seems since the new update.. more and more people are having trouble with the on line.. i have suffered from matching failed/ dissconected errors/ and of late it takes up to five mins some times to join a game.. and much more lag going on...whats going on..?..if i am lucky i will get three races in an hour..
 
yup. and its not just GT5p... i watch and listen to music while streaming from my computer (wirelessly) and i get a drop of connection (network error) about every time i attempt it... every 10-15 mins at least.
 
my problem is nothing to do with online races .. i havent dared try to be honest, its mainly when i start teh game and the loading screen before the new vid takes ages to load and the rankings just take forever..

now i know that it still tried to go online at this point and i will have a look at forwarding the ports.. and i will let you know how i get on .
 
Very very strange my online problems still continue i will have to wait for the new update this friday and then see if it still happens after the events change
 
Only online events change, not the game data.

Have you guys tried turning off UPNP in the ps3 network settings?
Before the august update i couldn't join races with it on, but after the update I can.
Maybe this update is causing UPNP issues for other people?
 
And probably tried this, but have you cleared the cache in gt5p network options?
 
Yeah ive tried everything ive cleared the cache in gt5 Prologue also changed the UPNP mode just not working very strange
 
This is getting so annoying !! i cant even have one race on GT5 Prologue anymore and also im pretty sure other people are going through same online problems like me i hope PD sort this out soon as possible PLEASE!

Count me in as well. Everything was fine until this latest update which as has been said above was just a change to the online races.

I wonder if they have changed something behind the scenes. The really strange thing is during races the lag is better than it's ever been but once I've had one race the thing dies on me. I have to reset the console, re-log in to PSN then it's OK for one more race then I have to reset etc.

Total shame cos Suzuka 5 lapper is ace :)

Anyone got any ideas...
 
Problems I've had since the update are freezing online rankings where you have hold down the standby button to reset. The PS button on the pad doesn't work and the game is completely frozen. The other problem is loading a replay, sometimes when you see the part with GT logo and the black screen it just hangs on that with the logo still in animation, the PS button works so I can re-start easy. Never had any problems like this before and I've had the game since december. These faults happen on the Japan and PAL versions.

I'm thinking its my PS3 but other games dont have any faults but then I haven't played other games for any length of time in the last 2-3 weeks apart from FC which played fine. Maybe a re-install will help. The updates download first time with no errors. I've played online for a few hours over a few nights no problem, but using the menus causes it to crash occasionally, with online menus causing complete petrification.
 
Sorry to bring this thread back. Right I've already expressed my online problems on the first page of this thread, I had thought spec 3 update would sort my problems out, but no they still coontinue. I've tried everything, wireless, wired connection, port forwarding, just bought a new router aswell :ouch: and nothing is really solving my online problems, anyone out there who knows what the problem is please. 👍

I suffer the exact same problems with mine from time to time normally when gt5p releases new news and i view from then it screws up, or if a clear the cache, mine went bad just before the update but since it has been fine, the problem solves itself after a few days, but in the network options it doesn't happen as much when its changed to mode 2. I run a wireless connection by the way and have tried allsorts to fix it when it happens even deleting the updates etc ( Have not tried ethernet conection though)

When the long times are back etc it even slows the load times to offline arcade and timetrials but if I sign out from the network it runs fine, so it must be somthing to do with your ps3 etc linking up with the PD servers/network but I'm completly out of my depth talking about stuff like that its witchcraft to me
 
i have a problem too. i'm using a wired connection.i live in turkey.i have an account for this country and we don't have a psn network.and i am using 1mbps connection max is 4 mbps :S

when i try to play the game it reminds me the update.so i accept. but it fails at about %3-4. this is encoured everytime.i can't update the game.this was with my normal account.

i've signed up an uk account.with that account i can enter ps store and download demos,themes,applications etc.it's cool.but the same problem.i can't update the game.everytime it fails at the same point.this is making me crazy,so annoyed.

so guys.what should i do ? i bought the ps3 yesterday only for this game.but minute by minute i'm getting bored with this problem.if i can't find a solution to this problem i will probably sell my console :S

please help me guys :S
 
Mine has the exact same problems every time GT5P is on. It takes forever to load anything (GT-TV once took 30 minutes to bring up the main menu) and it disconnects almost instantly. Then about .01 % of the time it does load and the race actually starts PSN suffers an error and the game freezes :ill:
 
I have played online yesterday first time since update. Chosen Ferrari Suzuka race. Hey, what's up???!! Whole game has just wrong flow, thousands of "smooth microlags" are causing that driving is very unnatural for me. And to the top, there is no penalty system now, so all other ten cars in race were comfortably bouncing me into sand and grass and then because there was no clean player to save the race for, I simply quit the game, finished that strange theater of stupidity and till next update, online is big NO NO for me.
 
I'm having alot of trouble aswell, the GT5P first loading screen (with the flashing LOADING) simply gets stuck and never stops loading. I don't get this problem when the ethernet cable is not connected though, so now when I load GT5P without the cable, then connect the cable and try to access any online content, the game just freezes. Right now, I've left the loading screen on for about an hour to no success. So now I'm stuck with offline playing which is frankly kinda boring, or nothing. So far I've already gone through 3 PS3's which haven't gone well, and I'm simply sick of this now. I feel like getting rid of the PS3 idea altogether. I hope this problem solves itself in the next few days, or I might just consider getting rid of the PS3 for good.

I really hope the problem is GT5, not the PS3.
 
I just got a ps3 and gt5p a few hours ago, do you suggest not to download the new update?
