Online Problems....

I just got a ps3 and gt5p a few hours ago, do you suggest not to download the new update?

I don't have problem with prolonging loading times, but the problem described above and I found those rendering lags are present only with Ferrari California and interior cam, all other before-update cars are OK, so there's nothing to lose for me.

I noticed this problem happened after my internet decided to die on me, this happens quite often. I have a feeling something got corrupted in the process, so I think I might have to reinstall GT5P for this to work. Shame I won't be able to update back to Spec III for about a week or so.

As I understand it GT5p checks the time and date when you start it up. It does this via the network and contacts the PSN. I saw this yesterday when the PSN was down for a short while.

If the load is slow then it sounds like GT5p is starting a conversation with the PSN server but waiting for a response.

If it's slow but works then I would guess there's nothing fundamentally wrong with your local set-up. It almost sounds like your ISP is packet filtering/choking.

Have you tried it from a friend's place who's got a different ISP?

I have up playing with ports on mine and put it in the DMZ, although I don't think that's your problem.

Anyway, just an idea for you :-)

I find it very strange that so few are having this problem, so I think it might have something to with the way you guys are connecting to the internet. Maybe GT5:P is causing your routers to time-out.

There are a few things you can try:

Remove temporary data.
Remove downloadable content.
Disable the downloading of new content.
Disable the advanced downloadoption.

And if all that doesn't change a thing maybe change the UPnP settings.
All this can be found in the online options menu of GT5:P

I think its about time they sacked Agnes and got some young dolly-bird with beautiful hair and IT skills in to run the switchboard.

I tried changing alot of settings, still no luck. Thanks for the replies guys, still does help. Nobody we know will probably let us run on their internet, and if they did they themselves are usually to busy. Although I could still try this if I get lucky somewhere. I hope the issue solves itself by time, but if not I'll probably reinstall GT5 and see where it goes.

I'm bringing back a reasonably old thread now, I've simply gotten sick of this and I've tried all the possible variables and still no luck. My last resort was to do the System Update, but now I've hit more problems. The download bar seems to be going very slowly, and now I have no time to do this. So far it's taken around 10mins just to get to 1% and now it seems to be stuck for good. Is this a bad sign, and does anyone think this will actually help fix my problem?

Edit: Awfully slow, it jumped 5% (:dunce:) and skipped on, I think it should work. Good test of patience this...

Edit 2: 42% right now, after about 1 1/2 hours. Just now, I realised that the update can be downloaded from the PC and then installed. This brings up a question, why is the connection through the PS3 so slow? The whole update is only 130mB, and I can usually download that in a few minutes from the PC. I don't want to stop downloading half way, god knows what could happen. Either way, next time I'll be sure to download via. PC.

Resurrecting the old thread again, although it's well worth. I uninstalled GT5P and reinstalled, and it worked. So the solution to the problem is to uninstall GT5P and reinstall. I'd recommend you backup your saves and replays just in case, copy them onto a USB Stick atleast. It shouldn't delete any of your saves by uninstalling, but just incase. Hope this helps anyone else who is having this problem as well.
