Hi all,

I have setup a site that converts (for now on the fly) the japanese site into a working english version. The only thing that doesn't work (apart from Internet Explorer) is the popups in IE. Firefox etc. is fine.

This is basically a quick hack but am willing to spend more time on it if there is enough interest. I haven't tested it thoroughly so I'm sure there are some things that need changing.

You can view it here:

I look forward to your thoughts and findings, but bear in mind this is beta and therefore not finished or on a decent host :)

TEAM GT5net already made a working translation here. But I like that yours gives the ability to click on a name to see the racers settings and that your tracks are linked properly - TEAM GT5net have dead links. It would be great if you could give the viewer the option to change the time zone.

Click the drift trial button, and select professional from the drop down menu :)

Haha, Drift button hidden ... that's what I get for browsing gtplanet in a less than full window. 💡

Bookmarked, thank you for the effort D4T. 👍

D4T: Is there anyway you could program a search function into the database? Meaning, a driver could type their PSN ID into the search tool and then have it come up with a list of all of the cars/tracks you are ranked on, and in what place. There are so many combos of tracks and cars it's a bit hard to remember what combos you've done in the past...so this would be an EXTREMELY helpful function 👍

If you have the skills and know how to do such a thing, I'm sure almost the entire TT community would give you huge praise

D4T, I am a programmer and I'll write this functionality for you if you wish...

Great work there, D4T 👍

And yeah, a search function would really be extremely helpful :)

Great work.👍 A search function would definetely come in handy. I've done way too many TT's.:D

Well done. It would be great if you could work with Jordan to make this a built-in feature of GTP by the time GT5 rolls around. 👍

I have already started the work myself, not sure on time scale as it will depend on work and home commitments etc. Hoping it will be done in the not too distant future 👍

Right, pretty much sorted the new site now. Its faster and allows you to search for your online ID :) The search facility isn't very pretty but it works and its fast :)

The only thing with the search facility is that its updated daily or when you view the page with the result you are after (if that makes sense).

The new site isn't live yet but will be shortly, this will be the last revision due to work commitments and my g/f moaning at me for staring at a screen all day and all night!

I can implement new features if people request them and welcome any donations to keep the site running (at the moment i'm paying for it of course) :)

I will pop another message on here when the new version is up.

Your work is much appreciated, D4T!! ..even though I'm yet to see the results of your work, I'm sure it'll be brilliant. 👍

New site now online :)

Just running a full update now which takes a fair while, please also note daily updates are taking place at 1:30am GMT.

Im sure there are still some amendments to make regarding correct car names, so feel free to point them out.

Enjoy!

Hmmm... seem to be having some DB performance issues on the new site. Will work on it when I can but I'm on holiday as of tomorrow so might not get fixed for a week or so!

Actually, think I made a small yet critical error and may of actually resolved it. Feedback is appreciated good or bad :)
