Online Series required Racing Number Plate

Hello everyone...

Coming off of the end of this thread, I have a new question:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/needed-change-in-the-livery-editor.363778/#post-12022122

I haven't played online due to a lack of a ps4 compatible steering wheel. I like to make liveries in the meantime and I was wondering if there was a forced number plate style (Racing Number - Type 1, Type 2, etc in the livery editor). I would imagine it defaults to Type 1 but I also am curious if the game won't change it if you use any of the "official" number designs in the livery editor.

Thanks in advance!

I think this forced number plate thingy is annoying.. you might think «okay so I just add one to my design then, problem solved». But nope. Another one with a different number is placed right on top once you take it online. The default white GT one.

I wanted a custom one so I used an existing one, and made it like this:

But once I take it online.. this happens:

- a default one placed right on top. So it doesn’t matter if you select an official number plate. A default one will always be on top. With a random number.

It's supposed to be your qualifying position, but it doesn't always work out like that.

Yeah, I noticed that while it is "matching" your driver is sitting there with a number already on his helmet. At first I thought this was a sneak peak at your qualifying position, and sometimes it is, but more specifically it appears to be the order that you are first listed in the lobby until it's reshuffled into exact qualifying order. Very strange.

I wish we could just pick a number and a number plate style and keep it.

Thats weird...
how can I take off the “online” number plate again?

I just replied in your other thread before I saw your picture here. It's not supposed to stay on there after a race so that's weird. Try re-applying your livery to the car again and see if it gets removed. Otherwise go into livery editor and remove it there I guess if it's on there as well.

This happened to me too. Just opening the livery editor made it disappear. Bug.

I already did that but nothing changed.
When I go into the livery editor the online number dispears, thought the problem was fixed. Saved the livery again but when I go out the editor it appears again...

Ok, that's quite a bad bug then. :P Maybe try going into a race where there usually isn't a racing number, like in arcade race or time trial. That seems to fix the weird damage/dirt staying on the car bug as well so who knows.

Thanks for the thoughtful replies everyone.

Another thing I just noticed is for the FIA GT Manufacturers Championship, you cannot edit liveries AT ALL for the cars you are contracted too! I don't know if it's just bc its a test season or what but that is kind-of annoying...

I know right! I can live with a stock tune but I’d like a custom livery. I guess it is because it is livestreamed and there’s no way of restricting «illegal» liveries.

But.. Idea! What if there’s a separate livery uplod function. One for all and one for FIA. So that you upload a design to be approved to be used in the FIA series. Would be hard to enforce maybe.. but it’d be awesome.

If a racing team offers you a car and a crew for a season, you can’t impose them your livery, they already have sponsors. I can understand it’s the same here...

Sure @Cytoria. But why aren’t we getting multiple livery choices instead of colors then? For that mode PD should’ve made a few fictional ones for us to choose from, so not every car has the same livery. This is why we wanted a livery editor, right? To not have the same look as everyone else? One-make racing for example, so much more interesting now. I never raced a Miata more than neccessary before but once we get the Miata with a roll cage and wing in the Mileage Exchange I’m getting it. And plan on one-make Miata races for the first time in my life. All thanks to the livery editor.
