Only in America

I'm always stunned when I see your big "trucks" on the road. I'll never forget the time I saw a F-650.. god damn!

Not much in Australia is bigger than a Pajero, Land Cruiser. Sure, you have a couple who put in lift kits and muddy's but 98% of the public doesnt drive vehicles bigger than them.

Make up your mind.

I don't know the reason for that stereotype, see above maybe?

Not even, people fighting happens just about everywhere.

I'm going to step out of this as I'm definitely failing to prove my point. All I'm going to say is that we're definitely a unique country, odd things happen here, but I'm not ignorant enough to think that these things can't (and don't) happen in the rest of the world.

See the 3 links I posted

Fighting, of any sort, tends to happen anywhere and everywhere.

Right, but fighting for a parking spot like that doesn't tend to. I know I said "our" as I was mocking the generalization of the title, but like you I was annoyed that it was pinned as just being an American thing. I'm sure it's common in any city where parking is at a premium, as your links pointed out. Obviously fighting in general happens everywhere.

On a semi related note... I saw a story earlier that a woman in Boston paid $500,000+ for two parking spaces near her house in the city. Cities are crazy.

Trucks that are lifted like crazy (like the one Omnis posted) aren't actually road legal in a lot of states.

Wrong. You'd be surprised, lots of states, including NY don't have a limit on how high the lift can be or size tires to use. It has to be able to clear stop lights in most states but otherwise there is no limit. There is a width limit though so that comes into play.

Which is why I didn't say all states. In Maryland it's based on vehicle type, frame height, and bumper height, but no restriction on tire size. The truck in the pic would probably be in violation.

Several states have limits on how high or low headlights can be from the ground though, which is where some of the technical legalities come into play.

Actually, I just found this, by accident, but it does, in my opinion, make the first video look like a schoolyard fight:

It's a bit long, but that guy's just insane.

This one too:

Again, absolutely insane.

Insanity is all around us :boggled:.

The second video is probably not in America.

Oh I see :D.

Well, I would consider fighting over a parking spot, as road rage, therefore the above :D.

Meh people will fight over anything. Just in some places it will be for a parking space closer to Mcdonalds while in others just for the sake of entertainment.

First one is Australia.

But they are roadrage cases, not fighting over a parking spot

Like I said, see the stories I linked. People will fight anywhere over anything, and the main reason people record in the US is we just have way more people with video capable phones than, say, India or China.

[Youtube video]

I guess the Russian are so used to this, that simply just drive around it... I'm also amazed that people have axes, bats and etc., in their car. It's almost like they know it'll happen.

Oh, and does anybody know the song starting at 4:16 :D?

I know that one's addressed to me, but I deserve the  for being such a dunce, and not paying attention to them driving on the left side of the road 👍. Though, it does show that this is existing all over the world - or, in Australia, with that video, at least.

I just like how the phone operator in the Australia video doesn't ever seem to grasp the situation properly.

A few years ago around here, a lady was being chased by someone trying to kill her. She made the mistake of going to the police station. As soon as she got there, the guy pulled up and shot her as she was running into the building. Killed her and then I think he killed himself. Scary stuff. Wonder if she'd be alive if she carried.

The US has a population of 300m, right? I'm sure there are at least that many video phones here. Even the poorest street vendors and farmers have video phones.

Perhaps it's due to the fact that more video worthy things happen in the US, and people have computers to upload the videos with.

Actually, the  wasn't for you, it was to parody the thread and take one ridiculous video and extrapolate it to say ridiculous things like that ever only happen in that country, as if that one country is full of crazies and no where else on Earth experiences any of these problems.

If it seemed like it was directed to you, then I apologize for that. That was not my intention at all. I used that video because it was the location was very apt and you had posted it in the thread already.

Well, then I should be the one apologizing 👍. - I tend to misunderstand everything. Sorry :).
