Really wish they kept that body style as it looked so much better, but I recall seeing a few years ago a purple race car with that same body style with yellow wheels, was that the same car as the red one being sold ? Or is that a replica of some sort of the #12 White/Blue GT1 variant ?

It's not a replica, it's an original Speed 12 GTS, but it's not connected to the road car in any way. The road car is a Cerbera Speed 12, not the original Speed 12 and it was repaired using parts from one of these:

The white and Purple Speed 12 GTS's were GT1 spec race cars. The Cerbera Speed 12 GT2's (like the one above), were GT2 spec race cars.
