Opponents game selects for races often poor choice

Been doing a bunch of rally races, and on S rank with a decent rally car(Evo/Imprezza) this game is way too easy. Can win without much trouble at all.

Yet at the same time, in that exact same rally race setup, if I pick a car that is 'goofy' like the 30 hp Honda ACT '70, the game puts me against 2 Toyota Prius '02. The 2 Toyotas are 1/2 way around the track when my little Honda nears the 2nd turn for cripes sake!! I'm totally out horse powered and is an impossibly unfair match up.

I'm finding many cars I pick get poor AI match up cars that are either too slow or way too fast. Really makes the game unfun in a hurry with no or too much challenge. Try driving the Citroen Xsara Rally car in the dirt, it's near impossible to catch and keep up with the 4wd cars the game puts against you on S or A rank.

I've noticed this too, even in some of the lower classes (any race on nearly any track with the Chaparral 2J is usually a nightmare, especially with the car gimped compared to how it was in GT4). I'm amazed by the fact that PD didn't include the option to choose your race opponents and tally up the race winnings based on the total performance of the AI cars (similar to how they did A-Spec points in GT4). Especially when the game lacks as much substance as this one that it practically demands the option.

This is why 90% of the time I'd much prefer to just do time trials and chase ghost cars / laps from previous sessions.

Why not pick a race, so that AI uses the same car you have? It is much easier to race that way, because vehicles are identical.

I noticed this early on in my GTPSP days when I got matched up with 3 Veyrons while driving my NSX Prototype Road Car. At La Sarthe. Of all places .

Since then I always race with the Same Manufacturers option turned ON.

True, this and doing ghost time trails would improve the situation. I do find racing all the same exact cars on the course rather dull however.

Soon as I earn enough money I will do time trials but that could be a while. :indiff:

PD should of done a lot better in the car match ups in the races.

Another annoying thing is that many of the cars are not allowed to be raced on the dirt/snow courses. I'll go to buy a car and get that stupid msg saying no dirt racing. Lame.

The CPU are too easy unless your opponets are veyron's and F2007. Why can't my impreza prodrive style (Undefeated by the way) can race against REAL challanging opponets such as rally cars. I want my prodrive to go against the delta s4 rally car but no i get crappy Ruf's instead.
