That wasn't a race, that was a 2 hour DUEL.

Pre-Race:
I made 2 slight changes to the Silverstone setup for this one, longer gear ratios and a different ballast position.

Qualifying:
I did a low 2:20 on my second lap which was good for 3rd as I crossed the line, but got beaten by the cars behind me.

Race:
My target for this race was to beat @Brutaka as he's my main championship rival currently. @Pubs16 was too far down the grid for me to worry about and @j1Nk was absent.

As the race started I initially made up spots going through Eau Rouge, but @JakeKing39 got back past on the Kemmel Straight. As he and @Ramalhinho91 battled for the lead I was fighting for 3rd with @Dan181295 and @Brutaka.

Early on I squeezed past the Ford and eventually got by @Brutaka as well before @Dan181295 got a run on us and made his way through on Lap 8. Before the lap ended however he clipped the gras and when rejoining the track made contact with my car, giving us both damage.

I pitted at the end of the lap and decided to put in no fuel while switching to RM. That would guarantee I got out ahead of @Dan181295 while giving me the best chance to catch up. What then followed were 12 flat out Qualifying laps, where I was over a second faster than everybody else and 3 quicker than @Brutaka. By the time he pitted I had recovered the 35 seconds and was battling him for position again. I ran until I was almost out of fuel, then filled the tank up, prepared to go to the end if I had to.

Over the next stint I was overlapping with @Ramalhinho91 and @JakeKing39 and in the top 3 again. I had a 5-6 second gap over @Brutaka by the time we pitted and the final stint began.

For the final 30 minutes I had @Brutaka right behind me and as it got dark he was on my bumper. I had to fend him off for the final 15 laps which was doubly difficult since I couldn't see him in my mirrors half the time. Fortunately I managed to do so and crossed the line just as the car ran out of fuel.

Pre-Race

I made my final adjustment on the setup on the last couple of minuts before the start of the Q session, again...

Qualifying

I thought a 2:18.0xx was possible but I managed a quite decent time anyway. I want to congratulate @Dan181295 for P2! 👍

Endurance

The start went with no major drama, but right at Kemmel straight I saw an angry Audi coming for me :scared:
I had a close fight for the lead with @JakeKing39 'till lap 15 (38mins) when my tyres began to deteriorate a lot and I went to the pits. I was already on 6|6 and @JakeKing39 still on 8|8 and with more fuel than me. After this I realised that I would need to play a different strategy on the pits and maybe we would have a close fight at the end. Unfortunately that didn't happen because I went for an unschedule pit stop due to damage (left rear tyre on the grass while braking for the chicane :banghead:).
@JakeKing39 had a much stronger car at Silverstone, but here I felt that my car was much better than last week. Your car was very good at S2 man well done! 👍
I also had a good fight with @Brutaka and @PJTierney for P3 and P2 .
Last 30mins of the race was quali lap after quali lap to gain as much time as possible, in the middle I saw my teammate @Pubs16 going out of the track, I hope it was not because of me man :guilty: But hey, 19 important points for the championship!
And again I made my last lap on reserve :scared:
It was a very good experience for me. I had never driven on GranTurismo6 for so much time on a row like yesterday's race, specially racing on a championship like this!

Have a nice week everyone, see you at Monza! :)

Monza will conflict with the Pre-Season round of GT Cup.

If we're going ahead with Monza as planned, then I think GT Cup should be postponed a week, otherwise the AM drivers who compete in both are at a disadvantage since they would either have to drop out of Monza and lose championship position, or drop out of GT Cup and fall behind the others (in terms of car familiarisation and practice) before the season has even started.

The GT Cup has been postponed a week :).

@mikey sorry again that I had cleaned you up mate.

@Ramalhinho91 congrats on 2nd place, doing very very consistently. I dunno how you pull those qualifying laps out all of a sudden :P. I can't recall when you had past me to be honest, it was such a shocking race I was just trying to finish since I had nothing to gain. We definitely had no contact and I don't remember you doing anything to hinder me so it's all good mate :). @bcd73 did well to back up Schulze Motorsport for team points ;)

Thanks man  well during the week I actually found a good setup but I screwed up when I reset the whole thing :banghead: so on that time before the race I was trying to fix it. I just used a little less aero than my initial setup, which led me to lose time on S2 I think.

It was when you had contact on the wall before the chicane, and then you pit. I thought I disturbed you with the flashing as I was closing in fast...

Its okay Steve, I DC'd two corners later anyway.

I found that because of the room quality setting, others drivers couldn't see the effect of your lights flashing.

For example, if I flashed my lights and the on-track signage lit up, the car ahead of me wouldn't see that change. Also, when @Brutaka was behind me the track wasn't lighting up between his car and mine. When I change perspective on the replay however different cars light up depending on which driver you have selected.

I wish the Qualifying session for Spa was longer than 8 minutes. I went wide on the downhill left-hand corner after Bruxelles and spun across the track damaging the car. The time it took for me to get back to the pits pretty much wiped out any chance of setting a qualifying time for my part. :(

Anyways, back to Monza. :)

My first lap out, my car got loose at the top of Eau Rouge and I clouted the wall, wrecking the front-right. I limped back to the pits, got back out and went for it (knowing I had enough time). I started my lap and spun on the exit of Turn 8 and just ruined my Qualifying session. I knew instantly I was starting from the back. 👍

When qualifying started I was at the wall after La Source! The screen was black and when the image came I was already on the wall  Luckily I didn't damage the car :indiff:

thank you @Pubs16
that was a very very good race!
two hours of super feeling of real racing simulation!
my race was a bit boring in the middle, but i was playing on cosistent laps with 4 pits, taking low fuel, keeping eye on you guys in back row.
when night comes on SPA, i had pretty bizzare problem with my lights. i realized tha my flash light command was assigned to a UP pad on the controler, but as my controler is old and used and connections betwen pads had problems, whenever i was turning with left/right pads i started losing front light and flashing in every turn on the track :)
it was pretty annoying and distracted, but i did it somehow to get to the finnish of the race! :)
my P6 is the best result in the season ,and i am very happy to bring some amount of points for Schulze team in this season.

Would it be possible that one of the video guys could come into the lobby, save the replay and go off of that (like Ameer)?

There's something wrong with AM Silverstone quali times (1'2x.xx when PRO's had 1'5x.xx or 2'xx.xx)

Nah definitely didn't disturb me mate, I was well gone into the barrier, with the rear all light into that corner, before I even knew you were closing in lol. In testing I thought I had calmed it down a lot, I must've been braking later in race than in practice.

Thanks man, must've missed that. Ill get on that this afternoon, apologies.

Final Round Race Report
This weekend was great experience for me and although it was a very bitter ending, there was a lot to take away from this race. I knew this race would've been tough as well, the long sector two didn't not help the heavy merc. I knew I had an upper hand on many cars on the straights but I wasn't the fastest car in a straight line of the field either.

Qualifying: leading into Q I was hoping to get a time under 2:17.2 as it would've put me close to the top of the grid. My first lap went very smoothly and got a 2:16.8 and improved it the second lap by a couple hundredths. All season long I struggled in Q and it was a very satisfying result for the final race.
2nd

Race: The first few laps I didn't have to do too much just stay on track while cars behind me were shifting positions. 5zigen was pulling a gap on me. A few laps later pfeffer and evolution caught up to me after making a few errors. We then got in a close battle for the rest of the first stint. 5zigen was forced into an alternate strategy after making a few mistakes in the first stint causing him to put early. Pfeffer pit very early for the first stop. Evolution planned an undercut but I stayed out for a few more laps getting good tire wear with the hard tire. It was a good strategy because I rejoined right behind evolution. We then battled some more including going two wide through eau rouge:P. The rest of the stint was just close racing. From the time I entered the pit stop my race would start to go very downhill. For the first hour I was battling for the lead, but when I entered the pits for the 2nd time the selection menu glitched and it auto selected to add full fuel of 71 liters. I waited in the pits for so long watching everyone go by and I rejoined right by my teammate Pedro and behind 5zigen. It took me awhile to adjust once again as the pit stop really messed with my momentum. Pedro pushed me along though giving me a boost to try to get to 5zigen and eventually I got back on the rythm and started catching up to both zigen and the leader but I had already lost about 25 secs due to pits and first couple outlaps. The rest of the stint went by and going into the final scheduled start I knew my chances to win had gone. I put 12 liters of fuel for the final pit stop and immediately started putting a dent in the gap again. With about 10 minutes to go I started realizing the fuel was very low and started letting off the pace to ensure I would make it on fuel. I had one lap and a straight of too little fuel and with the timer going under a mn to go evolution passed the start finish line I was going up the back straight and ran out of fuel. By the time I got to the pits the timer reached zero and my pit crew couldn't service me. In the span of a lap I went from 4th to 9th with hopes early on of winning the race.
It was a really good experience nonetheless:).
