[ORA] FIA GT World Championship [S3] | TRL_Evo and Ramalhinho are your PRO and AM Champions!Finished

Given where we're at today, I ask you please read the following before entering the lobby... ;)
The Mountain is about minimizing mistakes. That track is like that more than others it makes you pay dearly. What I'm trying to say here is do not step above your skill level to match others lap times. If you do that and keep it between the lines you will have better finishes.

Sorry to announce we won't be able to carry this PRO race either. @OriginalCheezIt and @brntguy are both down with colds right now, but hopefully they'll be back to 100% by next week!

That's too bad. And this is an "Endurance Series" event! :(

Oh well, I've got finals to do. Maybe by the time my final exams are done we've got more "cheesy" commentary by the ORA! Also, will the Nismo GT Cup (GT-R GT3s only! :D) be subject to livestream as well?

Race Report:

Qualifying: we had a bit of troubles with Qualifying as we had to discard the first one because everyone crashed out of the lobby once the game was loading track for race. Second qualifying finally was successful and managed a pretty good lap of 2:03.3.
Result: 6th

Race: Started out got to get by Gabguss in the first corner and the for the whole stint was stuck between FILO ahead and Gabguss behind with a healthy gap. Pits came around and I got a good undercut although I wasn't able to pass rcb I gained a lot of time. I then caught up to rcb as he got caught up in traffic ahead who were on slower tires. This turned into a four car battle that didn't last too long but rcb and I were able to go through cleanly. I had a good scrap with rcb but a few errors that lost me no more than a couple tenths caused him to pass. I was holding the gap to him which was close until I had a lapse in concentration and went deep into turn 1 two laps in a row losing over 10seconds in total. Was on the last stint catching Pedro quickly but got held up a few laps by rebellion losing some time. I got to the back of Pedro with about 4-5 laps to go and thought since I was going so much faster my teammate would just let me by, that wasn't the case:P. He defended very well, and then trying to get a good run up to turn 2 I went a bit too wide and hit the wall getting light rear left damage. This happened with two laps to go and I started pushing very hard to catch back up flashing my lights whenever I could to possibly distract him. I got to the back of him right on the last corner of the downhill straight on the last lap. I got a good run on him heading into the final corner took the outside line because he completely blocked the inside, tried going around the outside we were right next to each until I just ran out of track, getting into the dirt and losing out for 4th. Now I know that that corner is so hard to overtake on:P.
I was really hoping to get 4th for those three extra points since I am missing Silverstone and I have already missed two round previously.

It has been an extremely frustrating season for me so it was nice to get a decent result today. Hopefully this will translate into better results.

Bathurst Round 6
AM Race Report:

Yet again we were faced with more room dramas, and with only a field of 8 as well! Lots of lagging in practice (by my part a lot) and after a few trying to resolve their issues of seeing other drivers @Brutaka bravely volunteered to step out of the race since he was having the most trouble. Mate I'm so sorry you missed out, you didn't have to do that, we could've maybe seen how the rolling start went. Because once we had started after quali the race seemed quite fine.
No major incidents that I had seen. Congratulations to @Ramalhinho91 for 1st place, you pulled out well on RH's ;).

Qualifying: With a sudden rush to start the delayed race, I wasn't as calm and ready as I'd like to be for 2 flying laps round Bathurst lol. But managed to secure 2nd with a 2:04.7 making an all Sulchze Motorsport front row, and my highest quali position ever!

2nd

Race:
Rolling starts are quite calm when starting behind a team mate :), with @JakeKing39 hot on my tail starting in 3rd I knew I had to be solid into turn 1. Managed to pull away a little running with @Ramalhinho91 up quarrie and into the cutting, but bunged the cutting with colder tyres. The rear step out and I kept it off the wall as I lost two positions and continued on behind @PJTierney.
It seemed quite a few were struggling for pace tht would normally make for a tighter field, so I was able to get back upto third a little ways behind Jake's R8 by the end of the lap.
Had a solid run through my first stint, Ram just running away with it pulling a big gap each lap with RH's so I tried to hang onto sight of Jake. Not sure what happens but Jake had a early pit stop which put me back into 2nd until I pitted for RM at the 50th minute.
Hussling to gain on Jake's out of sequence put stops I gained and made time on him by the time he pitted for his final stop. He was still fast so I knew I had to get some space before my last stop, doing really well even set the fastest lap time (first one :D) until a lap away from my intended stop I lost it down the chase and into the sand.
Losing heaps of time getting out and 2nd place, I pitted for a final splash and new RM with 20mins to go. Pushing to have a chance for gained time on Jake's worn tures I could potentially battle him within the final laps but unfortunately few laps after pitting I was taily into the esses and tapped my left rear getting damage.
Too dangerous to push on I stopped to fix due to having enough gap back to 4th and just manage the last 10mins to hold onto my first GTWC podium!

3rd

Little devoed, with no mistakes I could've battled Ram strategically by the end, but it wasn't meant to be and still my best results for every part of the Round, including points, so I'm very happy. A well deserved mistake free run by both @Ramalhinho91 and @JakeKing39 :).

Just quietly the AM points may have a large shake up!!! :P

Drivers flash their lights to distract and annoy other drivers to try and force them into a mistake.

Really gutted about yesterday. Bathurst is my favourite track, ive been looking forward to it all season and then this happens. Pretty much sums up my season really.

Ive been debating it for a while now, but after this disaster I am going to withdraw from the championship. My time is very limited, and i need to focus on my own GT series rather than this one.

I wish you all luck for the remaining two rounds, Thanks to everyone involved in making the series and I hope to see you on track soon.

Race Report: a 1h30 cruise around a beautiful track/landscape :D

Quali: 6th
With no practice except couple laps before the race to setup the gear box, no surprise here, I was amazed by the times from the top drivers though

Race: 6th
Well, after the first lap and the accident between 2 guys I was 4th. Then a wheel in the grass while braking at the end of the straight coming down the hill send me in the sand, no damage, just letting those 2 pass me and I was back to my 6th place :)
With my poor pace I quickly understood I had no chance to compete with others. When I saw @CAMikaze in pits several times I conclude there was no danger from him (no offense here mate) and it was then a cool cruise around the mountain avoiding mistakes (that tack is really well done from PD).

PS: From my side narco disappeared early in the race

Yeah you disappeared on my screen, too. I thought you had given up but I guess you didn't.

GH GTP S4 5.jpg

Quite a lonely race on my end, not a lot happened throughout the 90 minutes.

Pre-Race:
I found that my Monza setup handled pretty well around here, so after some minor tweaks I had something I could safely drive for a full race distance. Some long runs before Qualifying also confirmed to me that tyres and fuel would not be an issue.

Qualifying:
Qualifying started 30 minutes later than planned (any longer and I would have withdrawn). I got a lap in and couldn't improve on it second-time round, but I was well off the pace of the leaders, who would be quicker on RH than me on RM even.

Race:
It was clear from the formation lap that @JakeKing39 and @Mikey24 couldn't see each other (invisible cars) which meant getting near them was dangerous. I took damage on Turn 2 and hobbled around until I pitted for RM.

The next stint went pretty well considering my lack of pace. I made up a spot as @-vinc'- spun and did 45 minutes on RM. My plan now was to pit with 40 minutes to go and then run to the end, hopefully taking P4.

With about 30 minutes to go I noticed @Mikey24 was catching and pushed to maintain the gap, but clipped a wall as I drove too hard and had to pit again. Then when I came out I was lapped by @Ramalhinho91 and outbraked myself when following into Turn 2. Rather than unfairly ruin his race I intentionally ghosted and hit the wall. I know it's against the rules and have already reported myself to the stewards for it, but I felt it was better for me to crash on my own than for the leader to have his race destroyed by a backmarker.

That meant another pitstop and I had to stop again once more as I clipped a barrier going down the mountain. By this point I was half a lap ahead of P6 and a similar distance behind P4, so I just cruised to the line.

Ultimately it was a disappointing event as I didn't actually get to race against anyone at any point; I was hoping to gain spots via attrition but with only 7 starters the chances of that happening were limited.

Qualifying:

My Monza set up also worked well around Bathurst but with some minor adjustments to the downforce and the rear spring rate I was able to push the car a lot harder.
I was on a good lap before handling the esses completely wrong and lost up to at least 1.5 seconds, which (looking at the results) cost me 3rd to @JakeKing39.

Race:

The pace lap went a lot better than I had expected, as I have seen some absolutely terrible warm up laps in the past. I lost sight of @JakeKing39 in the transition to the race so I kept some space between me and @Pubs16 to try and ensure there was no contact but I couldn't be 100% sure, I did my best to keep in my position and I got a great start, almost jumping @Pubs16 in front at the first corner to take second but I left some space for @JakeKing39 presuming he was there.
Coming up to turn 2 I felt really confident with the car until I had a touch of oversteer which sent me back across the track into @PJTierney, which I sincerely apologise for. I carefully pulled away after bouncing off of the inside wall and limped my way back around the circuit to the pits.
I entered the pits and put on a brand new set of RM, knowing I wasn't going to make any headway on @PJTierney on RH.
I found the car really comfortable on RM and as I got used to them I started putting in some (to my expectations) quick laps, consistent low 2:04's. I then started to aim for beating @Ramalhinho91's time.
I was on my own for a long time before I started seeing a blue marker on the map and I figured it might be @PJTierney so I started pushing the car and clocking in the fast laps before I eventually got within sight of him, before I spun.
I recovered and had another attempt at catching him, using the same technique, keep on rolling the laps in, keeping the car on the track and as the fuel level got lower, my car felt much faster and I felt much more confident going into and coming out of the sharp corners.
It was about halfway into the race I got within sight on @PJTierney again but this time I got closer and closer (this must have been the time he had a little run in with the leader and attained damage). I saw him pit so I decided to keep going, even with tyres showing 8/7 on the front and 9/8 on the rear, I was confident I could still drive the car as fast.
I then pitted for a fresh set of tyres and a load of fuel and managed to get out in front of @PJTierney!
On my out lap, I then saw @-vinc'- disappear from the standings on the right of the screen.
I kept pushing and pushing and then saw that @Pubs16 put in a great lap of 2:02.886, of which a couple of laps later I managed an almost perfect lap and achieved a 2:02.891, sooo close!
Doing consistent 2:03's I then started to see another blue marker on the map so I started pushing the car again, this time beyond it's limit but I kept it stuck on the circuit until I got close to him, then I spun coming out of The Chase so I pitted for a fresh set of RM and had another go.
I started pulling @Pubs16 in and he made a mistake at Hell's Corner which allowed me to get close enough to smell his exhaust but then coming over the mountain I got a little too confident and slammed the wall just before Skyline and attained front-right damage, so I tried to bring the car home before I spun again at the same place and picking up rear-right damage, making the car un-driveable on Conrod Straight, I touched the grass going into The Chase and went off backwards.
I rejoined the circuit to find @Ramalhinho91 closing in fast and on his last lap so I moved over to the right and let him through and just coasted to the finish line.

I definitely enjoyed the race and it was a big challenge, and like I said earlier, well done to @Ramalhinho91 on the win and @Pubs16 on his podium. The Nissan's were definitely suited well to this circuit and I felt I really struggled in the Honda but tried to make as much of it as I could. 👍

Pre-Race

I made my final adjustment on the setup on the last couple of minuts before the start of the Q session. And I felt very bad for @Brutaka...

Qualifying

I thought a 2:03.9xx was possible but I managed a quite decent time anyway and most important: mistake free. I was very glad that my teammate @Pubs16 was being fast too. Good job man! ;)

Endurance

The start went with no incidents at Hell Corner, but at turn 2 I saw in the mirrors some cars involved in a collision. I thought "well, come on @Pubs16 let's pull away from the field!" but in The Cutting @Pubs16 unfortunately lost his rear and lost second place to @JakeKing39 and then I started to pull away on my own.
I went for a pit stop when my front tyres gave up, I had a comfort margin of 45s for the second place so I maintained the lead. At some point, I was the only driver on RH so when fuel level dropped on the other cars they started to become faster than me so I started to push a little harder to maintain a certain distance to pit again when needed.
Then I went for my last pit stop. I failed my calculations in 2 or 3 litres of fuel but thank god at the end it was enough lol
I decided to run this race entirely on RH because I realised during the race it was a safe strategy and because I knew @Pubs16 was being fast enough to secure that extra point for fastest lap, and I want him to have it, at his home race track
Almost at the end me and @PJTierney had a situation. I didn't understood right away what happened I just checked my mirrors and there you are, at the wall... I knew I didn't brake too early, so it must have been due to excess of speed because of the vacuum effect. I experienced that situation at Nürburgring too, but unfortunately the wall was closer this time for you... :guilty:
So, 'till the end all I could do was maintain the gap but I was worried because I was on reserve for the last couple of laps :scared: So, I lifted off the foot from the accelerator and I took it home safely.

Many congrats @Pubs16 on your first podium! It could have been a 1-2 man, I know it is very special for you to score your first podium at Bathurst :)

Have a nice week everyone, see you at Silvastone! Ups, Silverstone! :)

I think it was more draft + cold tyres + tiredness on my part, don't worry.
