Hello,

Welcome to the ORL, replacement league of the ORDL.

If you are looking for a home for Assetto Corsa based events then look no further, we will be kicking off 2015 with some great events for you all to enjoy.

The focus will be single vehicle championship lasting 8-12 weeks, very simple to begin with but will be looking to expand a little if we can get a good group together.

I must stress, reliable drivers wanted only, we had so many people not turning up before, it was really unfair on those who were looking forward to the racing each week.

20/11/14 - Due to things that, at present I cannot go into much detail about, I am moving everything from the website to this single thread.

Good stuff guys. Competitions and set up will be similar to what we used to run. Its a shame that others who used to race with us have not made the jump to pc too.

Certainly feel free to add me to Steam, theordl.

It will certainly be happening if we can get enough people together. Love the old era touring cars with the likes of Matt Neil, Rydell etc....never been the same since.

I will stress for the league again, last time around we had people not turning up every week and it made it hard for the regulars. We do need regular attendance to make this work from reliable drivers. Ability does not matter, we never based anything on ability, more on fun and good racing.

@Esco87 hows things fella? Have you seen Itz around or have his email. Would like to get hold of him buddy, same goes for @Spatt and the rest of the old timers!

The more I think about this the more I remember the laughs we used to have, especially the core members. I still think we could build something special, last time we just hit things wrong timing wise.

Ok guys I have bit the bullet and have started work on a new website and purchased the domain.

In order for this to proceed and make this worthwhile we will need/provide the following;

  • Between 8 and 24 members (may vary based on titles owned by members)
  • Availability of 1 weekend evening and 1 week day evening per week to ensure at least 1 race per week.
  • Participation of 80% minimum of each championship from all members registered for the event.
  • Good, enthusiastic attitude from members.
  • Members to preferably be UK based or prepared to meet race times (usually 20.30 UK time).

I will be working on a basic rule set and getting everything prepared. I will post when the site is live for registration. This wont be as in depth as the ORDL site was but will provide all the information required and a place to discuss/post pictures/videos etc of the races.

More info soon.

I'm interested, but in the us. I have to do the time conversion and if its not to bad you can count on me weekly. Been looking for a good group to race with instead of randoms that can't drive.

No problem, be good to have you along for the ride.

Could be interested, really miss the laughs as well. Still in some contact with Itz but thats about it at the moment.

Good to see you bud hows things? I have not heard from Itz since I dropped the PS3 for PC gaming, not even active here is he?

Il get the site up soon on a free Weebly before I jump in cash wise. If we can even knock up 8 regulars it would be a start.

He is laying a bit low at the moment while he is moving to Newcastle I think.

I am running my own Danish GT site at the moment, having some Great series going.

I knew he was really busy and on about moving, pleased its paid off for him.

Would be great to have you racing on PC with us Mos, like you say, we had some great races and it would be great if we can all hook up again.

You must be registered to see our event list at this time. First season now in the calendar ready to go for 2015.

If this goes well im gonna need a new mug:

For iRacing, see here bud: http://www.iracing.com/membership/system-requirements/
AC: http://www.assettocorsa.net/hw-sw-requirements/

Personally I am running the following:

i5 3570K @4.5ghz
ASUS Gene V Motherboard
16GB Avexir 1600 RAM
156 SSD for Windows 8.1
256 SSD for Steam / Origin
ASUS GTX 770 (Soon to be SLI)
T500RS with custom F1 Rim (Sim Display)
Triple Screen Nvidia Surround

Runs quite well, will be better when I can go SLI on the GPU but handles most things I throw at it on the triples.

If you are in need of parts I have some that I can send your way cheap;

ASUS 1155 M/Board (great for a 3570K if you can find one)
8gb Ram
Case Fans
ASUS ROG CG8480 Desktop Case

The ORL will make use of the old ORDL Youtube channel so all the old videos are still there from what we managed to save and upload.

The part that turned me off was this:

I must stress, reliable drivers wanted only, we had so many people not turning up before, it was really unfair on those who were looking forward to the racing each week. It also put me and @@iTzZa on a downer after all the work we put in.

I want to race, but I run a small business and my partner is out with a broken leg for months and there's only me left and I'm on call 24/7. I don't work 24/7, I probably only average 40-50 hours a week, but some of it is emergency work and I have to leave right away. So I can say I'll be at a race, show up to practice, qualify, then have to leave. It's pretty rare this happens on a weekend, but it can happen and I felt I didn't fit your criteria of "reliable" drivers, which is perfectly understandable by the way.

Thanks for the comment, to me that is perfectly acceptable and a legitimate reason. Its more for those who simply forget or have another race so have to leave early or purely cant be arsed because they are lying 9th in the season standings.

All I am looking for is some small commitment to racing and having an input over at our league forum. I certainly don't expect every member to commit 100% of their spare time to the league and I have had people PM me to say they cant make xxx race due to xxx, that's perfectly fine. What I don't like is when 10 say they will be there and you find 3 on the starting grid!

It puts a downer on things, me and Itz who used to run the ORDL used to spend hours doing league admin work and I think sometimes people don't actually realize just how much time can be taken up doing this. To then find only a few turning up really made it felt like it wasn't worth the effort.

If you fancy it then by all means sign up, we would love to have you!

I ran a group here on GTP so I get where you're coming from. It's very rewarding but it is much more work than most people realize if you want to make everything polished and professional. Put my name in the hat then. I'm also thinking of renewing my iRacing membership. I got it free a few months ago, but had neither the time nor a decent PC but I got enough of a taste that I'd give it a spin with my new rig.

Due to things that, at present I cannot go into much detail about, I am moving everything from the website to this single thread.

This will avoid confusion over settings etc and will keep everything based here at GTP. All that is required for sign up is a post stating what event, car to be used and a your chosen race number. I will update the OP with members of the ORL as required. Each event announcement will include a list of drivers signed up for that event.

Our full rule set has been transferred across for guidance.

Can those already registered via the website please post details here to confirm:

Race number, Steam ID and iRacing ID for OP (will be public)

Any questions please let me know.

Why only use 1 of the GT3's?? I would find it interesting to have all 3 on track.

That being said, from what I understood that's a thursday nights league, so that means I'm out. Not a good day for me.

Best of luck, and I'll keep an eye on it

Using one of the GT3s as an intro series with us looking to open it up for the follow up. The races will take place in various nights to work round my shifts.
