Lucas Ordonez has destroyed his old times and is well up in the rankings on most tables again.. I guess driving real cars for the last year has paid off

Aye, along with many hours and hundreds of laps in this time trial too no doubt! Regardless of his actual racing skills, this is still just a game, and as such needs adjusting too just like anybody else out there who is putting in fast times.

While this ^ is true, to a point, there is no doubt that having many hours experience on the track in a similar car gives the guy a super leg up with such a realistic racer. Remember when he was number two or three in the world right off the bat?

He told me he didn't touch Prologue properly, since winning the Academy!

So to come back into the demo, probably time restricted and do a top 300 in the world time is very respectable.

I'm sure you all hear all kinds of things, but the fact is, regardless of his on-track talents, to put in times that qualify for the 2010 Academy means him putting in just as much effort as the guys who are already there (i.e. way more than 10 laps). I'm not taking anything away from him, just saying that he isn't superman.

As for not touching Prologue properly for ages and then hitting the demo, I'd say that's an advantage not a disadvantage, such is the difference in the physics engine.

This. I'm sure he put in countless hours to qualify for GT academy the first time round. His real racing experience helps, but it is no substitute for the sheer time it takes to perfect lap times. I believe if he put in the hours every day he would be up there in the low 3'24s/high 3'23s, which would leave him in a good position on the Spanish leaderboard.

Another question is did he race Indy in real life? If not, he still had to learn the line to perfection, which takes some time. Identifying the ideal line is one thing, but you have to practice it so the steering motions for each corner happen almost automatically. Of course, he might've raced it in another game, but probably not with as much accuracy in the racing line as you'd need in this game (to get a high scoring time I mean) or a real life qualification/race.
