Overview of GT7 Telemetry Software

EzioDash is awesome and looks beautiful, but I found myself wanting access to my phone for other uses, and since I use Simhub, I went with a Vocore DDU instead.

If this isn't the place for a feature request, I'll delete it, but the most useful dashboard for me that I use in GT7 is one that shows tire temps, and throttle and brake input telemetry traces as a chart. I think something like this could be a fantastic addition to EzioDash. It's made it so much easier for me to know whether my braking is trash or not.

Kind of like this, but with added tyre temperatures really? The attached is a screen dump from EzioDash Pro beta from a while back.

Yes, something like that. Depending on screen size, putting them on top of each other may work better. Looks great, thanks for the response!
I put together a quick test of a dash, and this may well be in the Pro version in some respect in the future. I'm sure you're not alone in wanting to have this kind of setup :)

Edit: Yeah, the throttle and brake traces are overlaid on top of each other here, but with a slight offset down for the brake trace.

This is looking great!

By the way, has anyone else noticed tyres doesn't heat up as they did before the latest patch? With RS tyres I think I see significantly lower temperatures and longer warm-up time. I was even considering that it had been changed in the alternate telemetry data, but it seems to be the same for both "A", "B" and "~"...

Shameless plug; I can now confirm that EzioDash Pro is available on the App Store, and should be available in all areas.

I wear wired sony headphones while in PSVR2. How could I hear pitcrew?

Looking at their FAQs they have this:
Yes, personally I can recommend both the Sony PlayStation Pulse Explore Wireless Earbuds as well as their Sony PlayStation Pulse Elite Wireless Over-ear Headset. Both of these plugs into the PlayStation console using a small dongle, by which the sound from the console is transmitted. Along with that, you can pair them via Bluetooth to you iOS device, and they will work with both sound inputs pretty nicely. I know there are other brands that does more or less the same, but these are the ones that I have personal experience with.
Has anyone tried these? Does it allow 3d audio from the PS5 as well as the audio from an iPhone at the same time?

As I write in the FAQ, yes, they work perfectly fine. I use them myself when playing in PSVR2. I suspect that you could possibly splice audio together using an audio mixer, but that’s nothing that I can recommend. Having more wires when in VR is not something you want. I’m sure other people with experience of other brands that allow both PS5 and another Bluetooth device to mix audio can chip in with what they know.

I just registered to let you know what a great app this is, exactly what I've been waiting for to use with PSVR2! Had a few issues at first (pit crew went silent until the first pit stop), but wasn't able to replicate the issue and now it works perfectly.

Yeah, I have the intention to document how it works more in-depth at some point, but basically it sometimes stays silent at the start of races if it can't make a pretty accurate prediction or have enough data to work with yet.

Case in point, I ran a league race yesterday evening, 36 laps. Should be pretty straightforward, right? Well, we do an artificial "warmup lap" and start the race as we embark on lap 2 – this throws the pit stop calculation/predictions off, since the fuel consumption is off when the first lap is run at 130 kph instead of at full blast. But, knowing this, it pretty quickly figures out the proper fuel consumption.

I have the intention of getting around to discarding laps with unusually low consumption, but it's always tricky getting it "right" when we have limited telemetry data to work with.

I like the idea of tyre temps but to be frank, most of what is on that display is what is on the screen anyway by default other than the traces.

What I feel is a gaping hole is the lack of timing data, even in GT Sport we had a timing screen with splits, i'd love to see this post race as part of replays or live on a portable device. Also timing overlay on one's own laps at the same track in different cars for example. In general, the lack of timing is a huge issue in the game.

Except for tire temperatures that isn’t displayed?

And I’m assuming you are flat screen user, so much of this is missing in VR.

I think you are missing the actual nuance here and what the app is solving for. And honestly it’s about those that want to do better, want more immersion or just understand their driving a bit more. It’s not really aimed at the go fast guys who know everything already.

Great feature requests 👍

But some of them are impossible because the data isn’t available and it’s probably a different product to start putting stuff on a portable for races that have happened.

Quite honestly why would someone worry that much about an AI race or daily/GTWS to think about it the next day?

You should probably use the app, read the FAQs and then post some features which are doable mate.

So I’m using crew chief for the first time. Is there someway to get read out of the split between you and the driver ahead and the driver behind. And also if you’re gaining or losing on that person?

I thought this was a feature, but I can’t find a way to do it so perhaps it can’t?

Correct, that data is not in the telemetry, no. Sadly there is a lot of stuff missing that we’d like to have, but can’t. Had it been there, the pit crew would’ve been all over it! 😄

I'd also love to know if there are other wireless in ear headphones that can output audio from PS5 and iPhone simultaneously. The Sony Pulse Explore wireless earbuds seem to suffer from connectivity issues.

Yeah, they were pretty flaky at first, but (for me) the firmware updates have solved most of the connection issues. Yes, there are occasional disconnects, but it works most of the time these days.

I think the Steelseries Arctis Earbuds would’ve been a great fit, but as far as I know they don’t mix audio, you switch between console and phone. If anyone else has a working recommendation, I’m all ears and will put it on the website for future reference 👍🏻

You're right, just got the confirmation that the Arctis Earbuds do not support mix audio.

I know I've read/heard about some other in-ears that allowed two simultaneous inputs, but for the life of me I can't remember the name – it's so annoying...

Got a tip that there are devices like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Maker-hart-Just-Combo-microphone/dp/B0BHYYPJXV?tag=gtplanet-20

...that can be used to mix audio, but that particular one doesn't seem to accept or allow HDMI passthrough. It does seem to have multiple line in, so with the right cables, it might work. It says it supports Bluetooth out, which mean any earbuds with BT should in theory work.

PLEASE NOTE: Neither me nor the tipster have tested this particular device, but if there's one, there should be other similar devices.

Late addition here, found the following tidbit on Reddit (here: /r/steelseries):

"I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this, but you don’t know until you ask. I’ve got an Arctis 7P+ connected wirelessly to my PS5. Is there a way to also connect it wirelessly to my iPhone at the same time and hear audio/notifications from it as well while gaming? This would do wonders for being able to hear text alerts from my wife when I’m hours deep into gaming and not paying attention to my phone alerts…
UPDATE: Works just fine with iPhone connected to headset wired and PS5 connected wirelessly. See below comments for more info."

In particular, that last passage may be of interest, if you can live with a single cable from phone to headset.
