Sorry, should've been on here more. There is teenage/young adult drama on discord I'm trying to make go away🤣.

@PapaGnr always great pics. That race was pretty good. Seemed fairly clean. Hope I didn't block you near the end @Vangeels. I was just trying to keep that car on the road the last lap or two before pitting.

And yes, there is something being cooked up. Mostly by someone most of you haven't raced with. But we'll keep that under wraps for now. It'll be fun and should really attract the right crowd!

I'm intrigued 🤔 and looking forward to it.

Couple of other ideas for warm up races inspired by something someone said on Sunday that definitely fall into the weird category
1. Sambabuses in reverse a round the speedway
2. Tuned down KTMs or similar on short tracks
3. Minis.....nuff said
Good luck with the teenage angst😁👍

A reverse race (Moonsprint???) would be hilarious

Imagine it....all Sambabuses lined up on the start line, no grid or rolling start, just line them up, first in best dressed for position.
And they're off!!!
One lap forwards
As they approach the start line, they turn around and go in reverse for a lap, then back to forward for the final lap
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Will have to try it to see if it's doable.

Well...I tried the Brick at Le Mans 700 PP. No go. Not fast enough & the lack of decent rain didn't slow the field down enough. Plus fuel mileage was terrible, even on FM6, only managed 2 laps. I bought another & this 1 will get the FULL TREATMENT, cam, rods & pistons, bore & stroke, crank, etc. Maybe, just maybe, I can earn that 800,000 +. Will keep you posted. (it really needs a swap)

It did win the 600 PP Championship. How's that for WEIRD? ;)

BTW, reverse at Daytona eh? Hmmmm.........maybe.

we're trying out a new thing with @Benny44 's approval, and would be happy if anyone of you could join!

basically, the discord page for the Sunday morning race was really active with people who care too much about the outcomes of the races. as a result, many novice and relaxed drivers became a little stressed out... part of it was the amount of prep that suddenly seemed necessary, but also folks seemed to realize there was a lot they didnt know about the game.

so, we are starting a little “club”, called Le Club des Petits Gâteaux, to run on wednesday evenings (room opening 8pm EST / 5pm PST, at least to start!) and maybe cover some elements of tuning and racing that people arent so confident on. tomorrow night we are going to run the Alfa Veloce '67, two sprint races, aiming to be done just after the hour. the spec is the stock setting - 104hp, 2293lbs (sorry i quoted that to you wrong @PapaGnr lol) - but you can upgrade the car however you dang please in order to meet that standard. the idea will be to show how many different ways there are to get to a usable, fast car.... and also how the tune kinda only matters if you understand everything else going on in the race. the skill levels of people involved are all over the place but the spirit will be fun and relaxed.... and people running faster will be eager to explain how/why.

anyways, let me know if you have any questions. There is a flag for it on the discord but quite frankly I don’t blame anyone for adding another app to their phone. if it gets traction i'll post in here after benny's race to fill everyone in on the upcoming weeks theme, etc.

Hey again, I just quickly read the rules and noticed that you've got Australian time.
I really appreciates the inclusivity and the fact that you thought of this, you're all awesome and thank you. 😁👍
I am allowed a day off work each month so I'll try to make it a Thursday and join you all.
I'm eager to learn and happy to share although most of it is seat-of-the pants and making it up as I go along.
Vivre le Gâteaux!!!🎂

No worries re misinformation. LOL. We already set that straight.

Hmmm, "The Small Cake Club", sounds yummy. Btw, any advance notice as to tracks, or are we gonna discuss gearing as we go to track? Either way, I should be there.

generally, the idea is to keep the tracks under wraps most weeks so we can see people's natural approach. but the race will start a little while after the room opens, there will be enough for someone like you to sort it out!

but, since it is about teaching/learning, i would like there to be at least one 'pre-programmed' car in the group. i was actually going to ask if you had a mazda tune whipped up on PSN, it looks like our other host is going to run that one tonight. their's is on rails but might need a little love on the gear ratios.

and from that perspective - @Mooseldorf or any other gtplaneteers, even if you aren't always able to join... if you have any favorite tunes, that you would ever be happy to explain, feel free to send me a message with the specs etc. and we'll try and center a week around it.

I did mess with that Miata & set it up for Tsukuba. Gearing easily changed with the slider for longer tracks. I'll send you tune sheets on Playstation when I get back on. Too tedious to copy to here. (memory sticks)

PS; are we going with sport softs ?

yes tonight is sports softs, i really ought to have mentioned it since it differs from the bennys race. i had also assumed comfort softs however it may be better this way, we can isolate one thing at a time when it comes to issues. hard to mess up the car on the sports softs!

Yeah, the cars are on rails. I sent you the tunes in your PS mailbox. Also ran an FR race at Tsukuba & shared that replay. Gears were a tad long, but still went through last sweeper in 6th. Nice car, but I think the Alfa is faster.

YEAH BABY, YEAH !! :gtpflag: The Brick rules. Fully upgraded Alphard takes out the Gr4s for a tidy sum of 825,000 credits. There was not enough rain to slow the field & 3 pit stops were dicey, but a win is a win. (btw, I race on easy for the credits) Am I weird or what? ;)

Alright, for Sunday - 100hp limit, and 1400lb minimum. No race cars! Gonna be randomizing the track/fuel consumption and tire wear! I have no idea how this is going to play out, but we'll see! Also, it's going to be slightly shorter. 30 minute final, and two 10 minute warm up races. The warm ups are TBD

Next week is a bit of a special one. In honor of the Grand Tour coming up, we're going to have a bit of a different format than usual. If you've ever watched Top Gear (which is the greatest show in the history of television) it'll be a bit familiar

Ok, tried it, doesn't work, stupid idea.
Sambas only go 15km in reverse....very boring.
Cappacino, maybe less boring.
Then I gave up.
I'll stick to old and slow and give the weird a miss.😎👍

The only way to do it is to do a u-turn after crossing the line after lap 1, go counter-clockwise back to the line, another u-turn & race toward the finish. Accidents may occur. :D A 2 lapper is required, or more if we're masochistic.

it doesn't help that there are 5 cake-related decals. ** correction, if you search on the web interface, there are many more cake-related decals. game changer.

Race #2 at Tsukuba for the lead was intense between @permaculture & myself. 5 laps of white knuckle, sweaty palms racing. Great fun. Audrey & @Benny44 were having their own battle. Here's how I saw it.

The video is shared for whoever's interested. I watched it from overhead view & it was like watching a real race on TV.

we're gonna need to do a rematch with those cars sometime! watching the 'fastest lap' time drop .030 seconds, twice, every lap, was a trip.
