"Cake Wars" race 2 was a mini enduro. Fuel & tire strategy were key. A few mistakes were made by most of us.

My big mistake was, checking messages in PSN & blowing the start. DOH. :banghead: Good thing I started near the back.

Looking forward now to @Benny44's Grand Tour on Saturday & next Wednesday's "Le Club des petites Gâteaux" event.
And here I thought that start was part of some grand plan!! hilarious.

didn’t matter though, you still managed to undercut me again! one of these days I’ll learn.

I used to read the news while having breakfast which was a real downer, now I read all theposts here and discord messages and check out the photos.....much happier reading😁👍

I didn't see this until after I replied on PSN, seems we were thinking the same thing. There's plenty of cars at 40k and under, I beleive
Have just been informed by my social secretary that we have visitors on Saturday night our time so may not be able to join the frivolities after all.
Sorry all, was looking forward to it.
Ah, c'est la vie as they say in gateauxland
Have fun
Drive safely

For tomorrow - choose any car under $40,000. Don't modify it! It has to be from the new car dealership.

No tires, no parts. This is going to be a Top Gear style contest. And don't just think that you need the absolute fastest car to win. Pick what you want.

Have some cash with you. $30,000 should do it. Everyone who shows up is going to be put into a group, and we will receive notes from the 'producers' on PS chat between events.

Points will be awarded after each event, and totalled up after everything is done!

One last thing - please don't tell anyone your car choice. Message me privately - on here, or PSN, or discord. I'll be driving something totally different and not in the price range. I'm not actually competing in this one, though I'll play along 😀

Edit - one more last thing is that you shouldn't pick a Kart!

Thank you everyone, I hope you had at least some fun. It was a bit off the beaten path for sure. I'll have the points tallied for tomorrow!
Thanks for "producing" this Grand Tour inspired event. It was different from what we've done before but fun nonetheless. 👍Too bad you weren't in chat, coz you missed out on some expletive laden comments. All in fun of course.

Thanks to all who showed up & some photos will follow soon.

Rally-the @Mr_Benn megane ran away with it, after i took my righteous klingon-mug-car revenge on @PapaGnr during lap 1

I saved replays and will go over them later! If Audrey doesn't do a second race tomorrow, l'll post the results today. If she does, I'll wait!

That hellcat on Willow was.....something
Sheriff "Buford T Justice" was incognito at Willow. :D

I took a few pics of the start of the fuel mileage run at the X track. Nothing special.

Here are the results @Vangeels @PapaGnr

Fuel mileage test
Benn. 1
Perma. 3
Vangeels. 6
Papa. 8
Lucky. 10

It has come to my attention that Lucky was passed by a man in a Prius on FM6, thereby not adhering to the rules, whoch state you need to floor it on FM1. If you are passed by a Prius, there is scientific evidence to prove you were not pressing the accelarator unless you have a motorized wheelchair engine in your car. Lucky is docked 1000 points!

Rally
Benn. 10
Perma. 8
Lucky. 6
Papa. 3
Vangeels 1

Spa time trial
Benn. 10
Vangeels. 8
Papa. 6
Perma. 3
Lucky. 1

Final race
Benn. 10
Perma. 8
Vangeels. 6
Papa. 3
Lucky. 1

So, the standings after 4 events are
Benn. 31
Perma. 22
Vangeels 21
Papa. 20
Lucky. -982

Now, if you're looking for the best car under 40k, you're obviously on a budget of some sort, so saving money is good! If you have more left over, that's even better. You will recieve one point for every dollar you save, rounded to the nearest 1k

Money left over from $40,000
Lucky - 1000
Benn - 2000
Papa - 3000
Perma - 9000
Vangeels - 7000

TOTAL
Perma - 9,022
Vangeels - 7,021
PapaGNR - 3,020
Benn - 2,031
Lucky - 18

I had to score it like the old Top Gear contests. They did this very thing once, and I thought it was quite funny. I believe James bought a car for 1 pound and won the whole thing.

I'm working on next week's race. At least, in my mind. No details yet, other than we are going to be going old. I'm going to see just how old I can make the maximum year!

Aw man I thought I was finally going to win something! Thanks @Benny44 for setting this up, it was a great laugh and a good tribute to the old top gear challenges. Congrats to @permaculture for the victory.

per @ritualskydivr :
Happy Sunday everyone! The theme for week 2 of Le Club des Petits Gâteaux will be MR cars.
You can use any MR car you like as long as it meets the following requirements:

All upgrades, with the exception of nitrous, are fair game. BoP will be off. You may also enter a different car in each race as long as it meets the requirements listed above. This week’s schedule (all times in EST):
8:00pm- track is announced and a room is opened for a joint practice and tuning session. 8:30pm- 4 lap sprint / 8:45pm- 15 minute endurance race / 9:05pm- 15 minute endurance race
