Ana. Al Thani, who commissioned the Zonda Uno, has recently bought Harrods (for £1.5 billion!) and parked his Murcielago SuperVeloce and Koenigsegg CCXR outside his new shop so what did the cretinous British traffic wardens do? Clamp them both!

Story here and as it happened photos here

ROFL

Exactly what he deserved... just because you're stupidly rich doesn't mean you can park your flash car wherever the hell you like.

True but I bet it wouldn't happen in Italy...well certainly not to the Murcielago ;)

On a slightly related note I was riding my motorbike through Monaco and got pulled over by a police officer (who was on foot) outside the casino who told me "no motorbikes" so had to push it up the hill and round the corner...past a load of Ferrari's, Bentley's and other flash cars :grumpy:

Probably not, but then my experience of living in Rome is there were no parking restrictions what so ever, so that might just explain it!

And PSML at the Monaco story

I was fuming at the time but quickly saw the funny side and I can always point out the spot I nearly got arrested when watching the grand prix ;)

It didn't help that I was only wearing shorts and a T shirt (not clever kids) and didn't have my driving licence or insurance docs on me. She really seemed to lose her patience when she asked "What will happen if you have an accident?" and I responded "It'll hurt" :ouch:

Went to Monaco for a sales conference many years ago during the week building up to the GP. On the Wednesday afternoon I was sat outside the Cafe de Paris in Casino Square having a beer (like you do!) and an F40 pulls up outside the Hotel de Paris.

The drivers door opens and out steps Gerhard Berger who wanders round the passenger side and opens the door for a stunning 6ft tall blonde beauty, and they walk in to the Hotel together.

Being a petrol head I wander over to have a look at the F40. There was a lovely smell of hot brakes, the exhausts were pinging as they cooled down and the front of the car was black with about a zillion dead flys... he'd obviously being giving it death on the drive over from Modena. I peered through the window and the keys were still in the ignition... if only I'd been brave enough!

 The local busy body madame gendarmerie would have nagged you into submission before you got it started bit it would have been worth it for a couple of years in a French prison...I'm assuming Monaco ships out it's prisoners at their real estate prices.

Just imagine how much more awesome it would look in almost any other colour.

I think it gives the car a lot of character. On most cars I agree, it's not a good colour (Including the Koenigsegg and the Lamborghini above), but on the Zonda Uno, it looks pretty cool.

They said it obstructed parking for residents. Residents park outside Harrods?! Well, I guess at least they're unlikely to get nicked, because of the security the store probably has day and night.

Should of pushed Mr.Berger out the way and drove off with the leggy blonde still in the car.

The side streets around Harrods are predominantly residential, and almost all parking spaces are restricted for people with residents permits or disabled drivers.

There is a secure multi-story car park only a 100 yards from the back entrance to Harrods where he could have easily parked both cars legally - and at far less expense than the clamping release fee.

Another one-off "last ever" Zonda announced. Sorry for hogging your thread Blitz but if Horacio keeps it up this whole forum section will be Zonda's

"The one-off Pagani Zonda HH built for an anonymous US customer has been revealed.

The convertible HH uses many of the same parts as the standard car, but combines all the best, and lightest, parts made for special editions of the Italian supercar.

These include a carbon-titanium tub, ceramic-titanium exhaust and carbon-ceramic brakes. As a result of these changes, the HH is expected to weigh around 1200 kg, although no official figure has been given.

It is powered by the Zonda Cinque’s AMG-sourced V12, mated to a manual gearbox.

The HH is finished in Monterey Blue and will not have the rear-mounted air intake seen on other production Zondas. The future owner hopes to have the car by the end of the year."

No problem ;) I read something about this Zonda HH as well but it was in Dutch so I didnt bother posting it... Thanks for the updates! 👍
