Hi all,
As Pagani Zonda is now a thing of the past and the Huayra is in our not so distant future, I think now is a good time to compare/contrast the two cars aesthetically.

Personally, I think the Zonda is still the most beautiful car in the world that the Huayra just can't match. Which one do you think looks better?

I'm not keen on the over-designed fussy detailing on either Pagani, but the Huayra is the better of the two in that respect. Although to be fair, i absolutely love the general shape of both cars and the whole Pagani concept.

That lower grill on the Huayra still looks unfinished and grates compared to the well executed design of the rest of the car IMO. But i think it's something that will always look worse in studio images where everything is highlighted more evenly. Outside, and especially in the flesh, i doubt it's quite as noticeable.

The Zonda looks better. sorry about sound comment!
The Zonda looks focused on the track. The Hauyra looks strange. Maybe its just the camera angle
i hadnt seent the title. Sorry lol.!

You know what i think. Just a simple splitter on the front end would help the looks of the huayra. Its looks like the splitter fell off and appears odd.

The Huayra is in my opinion just an inflated version of the Zonda aesthetically.

I think the Zonda looks better because of this.

The front end is definitely more appealing on the Zonda, however the Huayra's rear end is more attractive IMO.

Maybe they should make an 'Zuayra'; Zonda front and Huayra rear.

Huayra is better in every single way apart from the front end - it reminds me of a fat faced shark.

All the Huayra needs is a front splitter and it will look much better. If you take the splitter off the zonda, the look is more or less the same.

The Zonda has a very sleek, clean look about it and, in my opinion, is one of the best looking cars ever built.

The Huayra? Not so much.

And don't forget this is just the base zonda model. When they started ratcheting off the special editions such as the cinque, tricolor, etc. I liked it even more. The zonda cinque is probably my most favorite car in the world. I can't see my self buying one unless I somehow sprouted 1,000,000 dollars but I can imagine renting one for a day or making an effort to find someone who would allow me to drive it.

It's not a matter of which one looks better; we must decide which one looks less flipping horrible.

Both cars are the scum in the crevasse of good aesthetics.

Haha I agree, the Huayra is a fatty fatty its like they added another curvy layer straight on top of the Zonda, doesnt look like a supercar anymore...

Anyone??

Yeah, Huayra looks awkward.. Catfish-like. besides, Zonda sounds better, period. especially the F.

What are you talking about? The Zonda is the most beautiful car in the world! What kind of cars do you think look good? The Veyron? :yuck:

Yeah man, seriously? The Zonda is like pure awesomeness in its elemental form, compressed into a block of concentrated awesomeness and shaped into the most incredible form ever imagined. I could go on for hours and still not describe how incredible that car is.

I'm afraid I agree with Keef, here. I never got why some people like the Zonda so much; to me it looks awkward, the styling makes the proportions look weird, that spoiler looks like it was designed for a different car, the edges make it look unfinished in a bad way... I always thought it looked like something out of the 90s, again, in a bad way.

Yeah, it's a good car, but it looks like crap.

And the Huayra does indeed resemble a catfish. A splitter would certainly help, but so would a picture with the doors shut.

I'll have to agree with you on the spoiler bit, but other than that, its a street car that looks almost like an race car. I think that is the look he was going for. If you look at it that way, the Zonda doesn't seem awkward at all.

Yeah, I can see what you mean when you put it like that; it does indeed resemble a race car and doesn't look so ridiculous. Doesn't mean I think it's good looking, though.

The Huayra...looks like some pieces came off here and there along the bottom; it looks unfinished, but better than I thought it did. Neither one is anywhere near the top of my list, though. But between them...even though it looks like someone took a Zonda and pumped it full of air, I'd have to pick the Huayra, but not by much.

What Pagani did with the Huayra is like what Ferrari did with the FF. Ferrari has been praised a lot that the 458 was a good looking car, so they thought it would be a good idea to base their new car (the FF) on it. The result is absolutely horrible!

To be honest, I don't really like the Huayra, or even the original Zonda. However the Zonda seems to have matured over time, and with each incarnation it's aesthetics have improved.

Anyone who doesn't swoon when they a Zonda cinque is absolutely mad lol. Seeing it on a computer screen is not the same as seeing it in person. You melt in sheer delight of the wicked awesomeness

Kudos to person who came up with the analogy. The Hauyra looks like a catfish!!!!

Well, when you look at them together, as shown in the OP, I'd say the winner is actually both of them. I think they look equally good IMO. Maybe the Hueeeeerrr edges it a bit but...who's to say?

The Zonda took me a while to like but now it's a classic design.

The Huayra's got too much 90's conceptcar about it. It really looks older and cheaper somehow.

They're both hideous, however the Huayra is probably the worse between the two.

My eyes says otherwise...

Nice exposed gear linkage ruined by a handbrake that looks like...yeah.

Whilst it's not one of my favourite designs ever I think the Zonda looks pretty awesome and original, it has great presence. The Huayra, for me, looks bloated and nondescript (and sounds weird too).

I guess I like my supercars sleek and pointy, there's too much of a trend nowadays towards slightly flabby and over-fussy looking designs (see the GTR, LFA and one or two Astons)
