Paint chips?

It seems like all the basics is available from the beginning. And I hope all cars, standard and premium, will have the option for carbon fiber hood! (Then I will recreate one of my IRL cars. '90 Nissan Primera, matte black with carbon fiber hood!)

Where does this assumption come from that all the basics are there at the beginning? Is it because in the OP screenshots there are paints listed below the cars? As opposed to what, a blank screen below?

Well it just makes logic sense. When I buy my first car I want it to be just as special and unique as the rest of the cars I gather along the way. I'm pretty sure I speak for all of us when I say this.

Edit: I want to repaint it immediately if the paint I want isn't in the list of paint when I buy the car.

That's kinda the "new flashy thing" Kaz introduced wasn't it? To be able to personalize our cars? :dunce:
You lost me. I thought we were talking about paint chips being available before you buy any cars?

Let's hope the colours stack correctly this time. (or at least they don't produce duplicate entries as there apparently is no stack as such anymore in GT6).

Or they fix the preview icons that show different colours for the same colour. It's like they manually picked the representative shade from differently lit images. Or that sometimes there's a paint that is by the same manufacturer, is named the same, has the same square preview image, but is completely different.

What worries me somewhat is that in the GT6-screenshots, you don't see that you can select colours from one manufacturer only. Let's hope it's still there, as I like to use factory-colours on all cars.

I honestly think the best way to do the paint system would have you be able to pick the manufacturer colors when you buy a car and any painting after that at the tuning/paint shop, should have been a color gradient scale like so many other racers out there.

A limited number of "special" paints from selected races or online events is fine, but all the basic colours should be available from day 1.
Yeah... kinda meh on the whole paint chip idea. I suppose it makes some basic kind of sort of sense, in that you have to jump through hoops to get special colors in real life. Though in real life, those hoops are essentially just getting the right shop with an abundance of colors, and having enough money.

But hey, I can live with this. Beats the tar out of what we had in GT5.
