I can only find threads speculating about paint in gt6. So how does it actually work? It seems like after you get a paint chip you keep it, but is it unlimited considering you also have to pay for it. I'm itching to use some of my 15th anniversary edition chips but don't want to waste them, thanks.

I hope that's true that we keep the chip because that means I already have my favorite from GT5 (GT polarized-001- Silver/Red)... :D

Yeah, You keep the chips, you just pay for the paintjob. When you buy a new car the chips get added to the catalogue like GT5 and then you are free to use them when you want.

Yay! Now, I won't have to keep buying French Blue Lotuses, let alone bother duping five paint chips a day.

Not getting used up, three paint jobs.....

Witchcraft.

You can also have 3 paint jobs on each car set up A/B/C.

I thought you were trolling, until I saw that you mentioned the same thing here. If this is true, that'd be awesome. How do you achieve this? I've painted my car (M3 E92 '07) after selecting "A" settings, and again after selecting "B". Both times, the new colour has been applied to A, B, & C. So, either the ability to change colours is hidden deep somewhere, or yours was a special case (a particular car perhaps), or you're pulling our legs.

Yeah I was wonderin' about that too. It doesn't make sense at any rate.

I mean not using up a paint chip makes sense. The paint could be available in bulk, or you know, it's just about your paint shop having it available or whatever.

Oh... like the suits & helmets I got with the Anniversary pack... I'd have to pay credits for them! So really, they were not gifts so much as "made available" in my GT career tailor shop. ;)

But being able to switch paints on the fly would be rather James Bond-esque & then some, right?

really wish there was a database to find out what cars have what paints so i dont have to try browsing thru 1200 cars to find the 1 color i want (barbados blue metallic)

As the colors in GT have their real life names, you could just try to google the color.
Tiny spoiler, seems to work. ;)

edit: oops, sorry for the double post.
not sure what happened...

Pretty sure mine were available, I just had to switch to them in the garage.

No, they weren't available in the garage. :boggled:
Maybe I'm doing something incorrectly though? Wouldn't rule that out. :guilty: :odd:

APPEND:

I need also pay for those paints.

What suit's and helmets you get from anniversary pack?
I just can't find any.

I don't know, there's 1 blue suit besides the snow white newbie outfit my driver's currently wearing, in my garage. So maybe that's all that came with the Anniversary pack??? I don't know. I got the pre-order through Gamestop. It said racing gear pack or something like that. I thought it would be more than just one plain blue solid colour 1-piece. ???

You don't get a suit and helmet. It's a special suit.

Garage -> Racing Gear -> Special Outfit

Yes, I figured that out that it's just that. I was calling it a 1-piece.  :odd: :guilty:
I guess that's that, one blue suit with the "pack".

Mind you, I'm happy with the paint selection that came with it. Looks to be a nice interesting selection of metallics.

I'm just miffed that I'm going to have to shell out 100k for a suit. And there's not even any helmets or suits (or the 1-pieces) that are red & green. Or red and a green one.

I thought you could buy a helmet design from the shop, then pick any one of its colors. I'll check. :embarrassed:

Edit: Yep. You can pick any of its 34 colors in the garage with L1 and R1 from what I just found. I don't know if you know that already, though.

Edit 2: I can't figure out how to do the separate paint jobs for A/B/C setups. I want to know, though. (One thing I'm disappointed about is no more horns! I loved those!)

Yes just press L1 or R1 and it changes.
could someone post picture about anniversary special outfit.

Thank you :)

No, I don't know this. Thanks for helping.
I don't know how to use this thing. I feel like an old person trying to use newfangled technology. :guilty:
It doesn't let me see any other colours. When I hit the L1 R1 it didn't do anything.
Can you see these colours before you purchase the hats & suits?
What about the 1-pieces do they have colour options? Because maybe I only tried it with the anniversary suit. And maybe that doesn't work?

I'm convinced now that was just wind being blown up the skirts. I can't see how that would work at all.

Then again, I don't even know how to get my driver dressed!! So I'm probably not the right person to listen to on these things.

Yes! Me too! I liked putting the boop-boop sounding horn on all my cars. :(

Yes just press L1 or R1 and it changes.

Changes it where & how? How do I get a look at them before I shell out the credits?

Anyway, the anniversary suit is dark blue. That's it. it's a 1-piece, solid dark blue. Slightly metallic. It's no great shakes, trust me.

Oh, and I'm looking to want gear that's red & green for my standard watermelon theme.
Just wanted to make it clear I'm not some kind of nerd that wants to dress my driver in the spirit of the holidays or whatever.

Although thinking about it, I guess I'm some kind of nerd who wants to dress my driver to match my internet handle. :guilty: :odd:
