painting a Furai

how can i change the color of this thing? i see others in silver, wine red, blue, etc... but when i go to the paint shop i'm told "you cannot paint this car"

i won it in B spec, tuned it to score the 88CV, and kinda like it except for the nightrider theme.

I think you'll find they cannot be painted and that there are about 12 different coloured versions in the game hence the reason you see other colours.

oh ok. i'm new to gt5. i guess the color distribution is random. i suppose i could go back to the miata b spec race and keep winning it until i get a color i like. but that sounds like work.

honestly don't know for sure. i think i recall reading around here of someone owning/winning? a pile of toyota 7's and keeping one set aside with dirty oil for reduced PP

that being said i sure don't want to do for example: "like the wind" again anytime soon. it was an epic battle for me. indy was easy actually but the daytona road course was much harder imo. after i cobbled up what was apparently a pretty basic tune for the Furai, i just stayed low, blocked, and mashed the x for the gold cup.

daytona took about a week or so of after work effort. on the final session i bolted down some coffee and scrubbed out the first two attempts due to the a.i. wall checking me, and a spinout for some lawnmower action on the second turn (after the interior chicane). on the third attempt i was in attack mode and was in 4th after the first breakout into the main track on lap one. going back into the interior i darted over the small grass corner by the low black wall and cut off 3 cars for the lead. after some minor blocking and no big mistakes, i held on for dear life for four more laps straight to the finish line for the cup and the 88CV.

I have several Furai's that I have painted myself through hybridding. I can't explain how its done due to the AUP of this site, but if you want one painted in a specific color, let me know.

You could in the earlier GT's, I think they stopped it after GT3.

I know you could win prize cars multiple times in gt4 as well. There was a special events race that prized you a rally car worth $250k...that's how I made so much money....but in gt5 you can no longer do this

Yes, and this is almost as absurd and irritating as having 12 different "black" paint item entries each with one paint chip, instead of having a single "black" entry containing all 12 identical chips. Hey Polyphony Digital... umm, WHY?
