Thank you to GTP_PrudentBear and GTP_Theewar for some very memorable and fun races last night.
First 2 races were just Prudent and I, and a bunch of TeamIT Vipers at 548PP. Naturally the Evoras had to start further back at 550PP but we usually nailed a few into turn 1 and it was great racecraft practice as Prudent said. They were biblically fast on the straights but very slow in the corners, to the point where we could take them on the outside virtually everywhere. In both of those races Prudent was held up while I managed to get free of the traffic and win both races by a comfortable margin, but it was clear that Prudent was some tenths faster when he was clear. The TeamIT guys (BlackVasco etc) were very good racers and just held their lines. No funny business 👍
My last race of the night was the icing on the cake, just myself, Prudent and Theewar, a T&L event all to ourselves
I started 3rd and spent a lot of the race following the other two (when Prudent and I weren't being all Hugh Grant and trying to open the door for each other eventually stumbling into each other). I started to make moves on about lap 4 when the positions started changing regularly. Prudent got a little out of shape on the long right hander on lap 4 and I managed to make a move around the outside of the hairpin and use Theewar's draft to stay ahead down into the chicane. I took the lead on the straight at the beginning of lap 5 and opened a tiny gap due to Warren and John squabbling over 2nd place. I think they had contact at the chicane and allowed me to clear off to win number 3 out of 3. Glory night!
I'm just a little regretful that I didn't spend more time racing here as the update is now due. Competitions are fierce and trying to win a GTP championship means a lot, but racing your best mates is just on another level.
Thank you to John, Warren, Ian, Brock, Volcano and Fuzzy for what has been some epic competition and unrivalled fun in the Evora cup over the last few days
All the best
