Anyone excited about this game?? I have been waiting for this one for a while now, and the main reason I bought the BLOX in the first place.

I played the other 3 on Sega Saturn with Panzer Dragoon Zwei II being my favorite. I like Saga but just not enough action, cool game though. I wish I still had Panzer Dragoon Saga  those are worth a ton now!! :banghead: And I had two copies at two different times. :banghead:

Anyway, looking forward to Orta and I will be back with some impressions.

graphics and game play wise it looks great but i felt that the panzer dragon games were either too short or too complex. hopefully this 1 will be much better.

I don't think this one will be easier. I'm sure it will be easy on the easy level, but the point of a game like this is to find all the paths and get the best possible score. Which, I'm sure will take more than 1 play through.

I read on xbox.ign.com that the game is short, a few hours, but that is on the easy level. Did you ever play Panzer Zwei (the second one)?? That game was tough on hard, damn tough. But I still played through it I think 4 or 5 times.

You might consider renting this before buying. I on the other hand have went and bought an xBox for this game.

I'm getting pumped, one more day to wait.

Picked up the game last night and played for about 45 minutes.
I got killed right at the end of Episode 3.

I think this game is gonna be in my xbox for quite a while.
It has awesome graphics, great control and a fairly decent
storyline told through CG cutscenes during the game.
This game has the same surreal fantasy like creatures that
the other Panzer games have had, except now they are gorgous
looking and the explosions are very cool.
I read on another forum where they said the game is too short.
They must be a damn sight better than me at this game as I thought it was very challenging just like the other Panzers.

Anyone else play it???

I picked it up yesterday, and so far it seems really cool. I had never played any of the other Panzer games on the Saturn (but I understand that one of them is unlockable as a feature.) so I didn't know what to expect.
I'm wary of Sega games lately but this seemed to be getting such good reviews, I didn't want to pass it up. (The original game being unlockable was what totally sold me.)
The Graphics are good... but not great, but there is a certain level of artistry (which isn't consistent throughout.) The controls are good, and morphing between the 3 dragons is easy, even when you have missiles and other dragoons bearing down on you.
I like the CG movies so far, as they are on the higher end of the spectrum for what I have seen lately. (Better than Tekken 4's, but not Squaresoft quality.)
Overall, it's a nice diversion, because I haven't seen many games lately that have distinguished themselves from the pack. Too much Hack and slash/FPS/arcade racing floods the market every week, it's nice to see a rail shooter (since there are usually 1 or 2 each year at best.)

See, I don't like that kind of game very much. I'd like to be in more control. Basically you point the screen and pull the trigger. Woop-de-do. Duck Hunt had more interaction.

And a lot of people say how beautiful it is. Yeah it looks alright, but it's not my kind of art. It's wacked out Japanese fiction.

So I'm a negative review, for anyone who cares.

Duck Hunt??

You have a poor concept of this game. That's fine you don't like this kind of game and I'm not going to try to convince you to rent it or something but if you think it is anything remotely related to a Duck Hunt/House of the Dead/Time Crisis type game then you are sorely mistaken.

I have played all 3 of the Panzer games that were on the Saturn and this one is by far the hardest. What I mean by that is how hard it is to get a good ranking... And that LM is what this game is about.

I'm not trying to get under your skin either, really, I don't much care for the Grand Theft Auto games. Just me.
Anyway, just thought the comparison to Duck Hunt was a bit much. :D

I agree that it isn't total freedom, but it's on the same level as say Starfox more than it is like Star Wars: Rebel Assault (the FMV rail shooter.)
It follows the same path(s) (you can go different routes.), and allows for a full 3d view (enemies attack from all sides, and you need to turn around to meet them.) And you can dodge as things are being fired at you.
I also kind of agree with LM's assessment of the art. I like Japanese art, but somehow I've never been a fan of Sega's take on it. Too often it is just too odd.
To me, this game falls in the middle of all these things. I lean toward the positives though.
