I own the game on both PS5 and série X, the game is definitely cleaner with extra details and less aliasing on Xbox série X
PS5 version look nasty in comparaison

DF did a review years ago on the differences between system and It's clear the Xbox version take more advantage of the extra power

On Xbox série x run the game in enhanced visuals mode, no fps drops and the game is scaling to max resolution

My game does not look even close to either of those. Makes me wonder something is up. Maybe I should delete it and reinstall because it borderline looks like PS3 graphics imo.

You set the game in which video mode ?
Try echanced visual or resolution mode, see it it helps

The game looks sometimes great, sometimes it's PS3 era, it's nowhere as clean and sharp as FM7 or realistic and clean as GT7

Yeah, i just went back to pc2 on ps5, and shame they don't update it a little, just clean up and up res, and smoother replays would be great.
Looks good apart from that mostly.

Im surprised a little how im enjoying it and finding it good.
I adjusted my ffb further, and it feels more natural now, i had it set too exaggerated. Im on a g29.
Pretty damn good now.

Also i like the damages, visually and in feel.
Having fun with it for sure.
Many cool cars with a good challenge.

I tried the different settings of res, quality etc, didn't notice much of a difference for now.

It’s weird because I remember getting my PS5 and downloading Project Cars 2 and thinking man this looks awesome. Played it some but then stopped, awhile later got GT7 and now when I go back to PC2 it looks like garbage. The only thing I’m wondering is if somehow I ended up win a PS4 version or I was sitting further away from my TV then so that might be all it is. I really should give it another go.

ACC the FFB is great, the Radar system is great. I just can’t get into the cars much.

I find it good as well, you can tune a nice FFB and I enjoy it, I'm in same mood as you, yeah ACC is great in many ways, but, I dunno it miss something

PC2 have is own flaws like AI driving on water with no impacts on the puddles, AI agression, riad car physics, etc...

But, this is a game where I'm always coming back :-)

I own all the dlc on the PS4 version, but it was too late to buy them again on Xbox, too bad

What’s interesting about PC2 in terms of Xbox vs PS is that (as I think the video above says) the Xbox version looks a bit cleaner but the PS version is quite a bit better in terms of the frame rate holding 60fps in “stress” moments. So with PS5 you kinda get less on the one hand but more on the other.

It also means you can play it on “increased resolution” with no obvious frame rate hit.

When I first downloaded it on PS5 I instantly deleted it because I thought it looked appalling but actually that was hasty because after an hour or so you forget that completely. It’s just that contrast issue.

Frame rate was a issue on xbox one x on series x there is no more fps drop issues regarding the mode you are playing

Yeah, i wonder if i try it back in my ps4, which i still have if its nicer, might try it.
Also depends on the pov you play, i play in cockpit pov and it's worse for track view res, sharpness i feel.
Whereas in hood view, the track view looks pretty nice.

Well at least you still have access to all your dlc for ps5, and ps4 if still have it.
I'd really miss it if didn't have all the dlc, so many cool cars, some that i have only in this game.
I agree i prefer have a good mix of less often seen cars, and tracks, in a sim game.

I use cockpit view, maybe that’s the issue. I’m going to try it again, I’ve got some bass shakers now so I may as well set it up with that and get ACC going. Just because.

I did have the game on both system, so it's still a option ;-)

@Jtheripper @hawkeyez I'm pretty sure the graphics take a hit when tou use cockpit view, but this is my favorite one

These are my settings on the SX try them out & see if it cleans up your image.

Resolution mode is definitely the cleanest picture even over visual mode.

Turn down sharpness in your TV settings, not needed nowadays for 4k gaming or tv streaming even at 1440p & your TV does a good job of up scaling hd content from tv programs, it's an old tv setting that's not needed anymore.

Set your HDR settings correctly, I think mine is about 20 clicks from the left until the squares match also my in game gamma is set at 50 not the default 100.

Virtual mirror is cleaner than cockpit mirrors so turn them off if you wish.

Post processing effects on, it very subtly smooths out the images because it takes away a bit of brightness/saturation shimmer.

Bloom off, because this adds a lot of shimmering around lights & reflections on cars & object around the track.

Turn off heat haze again shimmering.

Turn off crepuscular rays, sorry on console they look like **** far to blocky.

Turn off camera shake, all this does is shake the whole image about unnecessarily.

Personal choice but I don't use any camera effects, no camera leaning, no look to apex, no geforce effect, nothing, not saying it makes a difference but the less my camera moves in regards to my actual car movement keeps things clean & clear for me.

If using helmet cam instead of cockpit cam turn off show helmet effect as you're affectively looking through two screens also it muffles the sound to mimic wearing a helmet.

The game looks slightly cleaner using external cam, bonnet cam comes in handy when you can't see through a cracked windscreen.

Rain drops & screen dirt only effect camera outside of cockpit so do as you wish.

Worst case scenario if it still looks terrible just use a weather effect that doesn't cause light effect shimmering like clear or light cloud, use heavy cloud, overcast, light fog or hazy instead.

Worst worst case which I don't use or recommend is turn on the depth of field effect so it blurs your surrounding image as you drive faster leaving your focal point clear.

Trust me during a full time cycle on any track there will be times where this game will look absolutely gorgeous then absolutely crap no matter what you do, it all depends on a certain time, during a certain weather cycle, at a certain point on track.

Either way I think PC2 is brilliant & it's still the only game I actually own on my SX.

Really is a problem with contrasts on ps5, as ifandor stated.
Near dusk, dawn especially, can't see much in darker corners in cockpit pov.
Even after upping my tv brightness by about 15 clicks or more.

Gonna try next time on ps4 i think, i crash from not seeing curves, chicanes well.

Liking it alot apart from that, always loved the music with the opera style female voice, inspiring style.

I might just continue with GT7 until GTRevival makes its debut. I have a good feeling about that game.

just like we all had a good feeling about PC3. Until it dropped.

As to the whole PS5/XBX debate, unless you have no interest in racing against real people (the only decent competition imho) you might want to check with which platform has the most online players. There’s no cross-platform play.

The guy admitted it was a failure though.

I think I understand why I haven't seen the issues because it use the chase cam. And haven't seen the issues mentioned here.

Just had about the most fun in a race game.

Did a 10 lap race on Oulton with a mustang 66 rtr, with 5 ai on same model car, day time sunny.

The ai was super, the feel, sounds, coms guy, side by side racing many times.
Pretty damn cool.
The replay too was cool to see, nice look, sounds, road side camera views.

i messed up but it's part of the fun, pushing it.
Pc2 on ps5 with a g29.

Edit: tried the boss 302r gt4 after, didn't expect it to be, but just as fun.
Good sound on roadside replay too.

Yeah I have some moment of magic as well, mostly with racing cars, road cars I don't know something is weird
I like the AI better with low agression, otherwise it's chaotic

I enjoyed the feel more since on ps5, i dont know if on base ps4 the physics, ffb etc were stunted a little by cpu?
Maybe here most had a ps4 pro back then and it faired better?
Haven't touched it in awhile now though, feel to try it again.
Maybe it's just the ffb adjustments i made, and the mood you are in, and expectations, and other game experiences affecting your perspective.

Thanks for that ✌️

Yeah I finally found where those settings are, it cleans up nice and a big factor was reducing tv sharpness.

My only issue is my G Pro jiggles away down the straights unless I’m slightly turning left or right. I think it’s PC2’s way of trying to emulate road vibration or something, it could be it has to register as a G29 as well. Somebody gave me some settings to try but said they could only get it to reduce by so much while still keep some weight to the wheel.

I noticed PC2 has a lack of traction compared to GT7, I found all the specs for the Sunoco Camaro online and tuned a Camaro in GT7 to be the same, finally sorting out the horsepower accuracy, running it on comfort soft tires. It feels very similar to PC2. Makes me think most cars in GT7 I want to run with comfort soft tires now haha

But holy does PC2 have wayyy more track selection than GT7. And some cars like the ford escort that will be nice to run sometimes. You can also race with AI in a lobby with friends. GT Revival or AC2 can’t come fast enough haha. Just kidding GT7 is pretty good these days.

That jiggle is caused by to much FX, turn it off or have a minimum amount just to feel slight grain in the road if you wish, obviously a car with softer suspension isn't going to feel affected as much as a car with stiff suspension.

I'm on a TSXW & use raw flavour, I can use 100 gain without clipping but I dont as I believe that's for high end DD wheels + I don't want to kill my wheel base so I stick to about 85.

Volume set this accordingly so the wheel feels nice on initial turn in then gradually gets heavier through tyre load, too little & you'll overturn your wheel scrubbing the front tyres, too much & you'll have an unnecessary heavy wheel which may lead to clipping, this needs to be binded to one of your buttons so you can adjust it on the fly on a per car basis.

Tone I personally don't mess with this to much as it can really upset the balance of the car, too little gives to much front end slip & too high gives to much over powering aligning torque, anywhere between 40-60 is all you should need for the majority of cars, again this needs to be binded to one of your buttons so you can adjust it on the fly on a per car basis.

Combination of the two settings above can really bring the majority of all cars available alive.

FX I don't run this higher than 25, I will admit that some cars need a bit of it as they feel dead, but I find the difference in cars with either soft or hard suspension, high or low downforce, vintage/road or race tyres or something else whether the track is smooth or bumpy or whether it's been laser scanned or not means you'll probably need to adjust it to your liking depending on the category you're racing in.

At the end of the day ffb is a personal choice & I set things to what I believe a car should be doing under certain circumstances but I hope this helps.

Thanks screenshotted for later. IfandOr sent me some settings in the Logitech chat and I noticed his FX was at zero. I bet that’s it because overall I have it dialled in fairly well, except for the center jiggle. I shut FX off or turn it way down, it might even be at 75 right now! Haha.

They’re funny with their descriptions I find. I don’t know why they went somewhat cryptic with the slider names. Oh well, that’s now two people that lined up on the FX settings being low. Part of that for me was not really knowing what each one did besides raw, informative and immersive and gain. The rest just has you going, well I think this is what they mean by that?

I did have it set decent for my G923 but lost interest due to the bad look. It’s much better, GT7 is miles ahead in graphics, but at least now it’s not distractingly bad haha. Once you start driving the jaggedness sort of disappears.

I find that with all sims, they all seem to use scientific words to describe what settings do, why can't it just be a basic description of what something does for the average racer like adjust strength from weak to strong & adjust smoothness from faint to abrupt for your individual settings to get the desired effect

Overall ffb strength
Suspension movement front to back strength
Suspension movement front to back smoothness
Suspension movement side to side strength
Suspension movement side to side smoothness
Aligning torque strength
Aligning torque smoothness
Front grip loss strength
Front grip loss smoothness
Rear grip loss strength
Rear grip loss smoothness
Bump strength
Bump smoothness
Curb strength
Curb smoothness
Road feel strength
Road feel smoothness

You don't go to the chemist/drug store & start reeling off scientific words to the man/woman behind the counter, you just say I got a pounding headache & I need some pills.

I agree haha.

I would think ideal would be how SimHub lists things.
road vibration, road noise, curbs, collision etc etc etc.

Give me strength or torque, and let me dial in the rest or just list it like that. They do in project cars but it’s not jot note form. They try to get technical. Haha
