Xbox One X is totally amazing!!
And PC2 is fantastic on it!!
MS is going to sell this thing in millions and millions!
Its SOOOOO good!!
I dont know what makes it so special but game after game I try on it just looks better then ever!
GTA V, Battlefront ( singleplayer missions are probably the best graphics ever in any game ), maffia 3, ghost recon windlands, mudrunner ( omg what a game! ), bf1, watchdogs, the division, halo 5, COD:AW, and forza 5 looks almost as good as 7 with 4k assets! Crazy!
And pc2 is just total carporn! :)

Now just bring back the fantastic feedback and fun from before the 2.0 patch and its the best car game ever made!

I know Mr. Bell said they had found a different rendering method or something for the PS4 Pro which resulted in much better graphics and that it would be coming in a "nextish" update, I don't think you guys have received that update yet.

Hope the next patch is better graphics AND better performance on the PS4 Pro. I experienced horrible frame drops during the start of the Ferrari Manufacturers race @ Monza (night and raining, with full field of cars with headlights on, I was starting from the front). Most other races have ok FPS, but it doesn't take much to load the PS4 Pro and make it stutter

OK....that is excellent news for XB1X owners im happy for them  now how about us PS4Pro guys? can we expect "something" that will make the game "shinnier" for us in the future? ive barely heard or read on the internet any upcoming improvement/s specifically for the Pro in the past month which makes me worry :nervous: and now im already (slowly) accepting that what im playing now will be as it is until something better comes along (PS5 or Pcars3 in a few years maybe) :(

We have some very good improvements coming in the next patch for Pro users.

Ah that's good news I didn't get the pc version this time so I have not seen it running on my pc setup just my pro. Mostly i'm happy with its looks
but Texas did have some bad fps issues but I am loving the track live 3.0 @ sunset and in the fog etc keep up the good work Ian and team ;)

It is quite incredible how real it all looks.
I had just begun building a PC, but looking at PC2 reviews now with the Xbox one X, I'm considering buying one instead of a GTX 1080.

If you are on a $500 or so budget, Xbox One X is a good option, great one even.
However, if you have the money to spend on a PC build, see if you can add a VR headset (Oculus Rift is $400). It’s a very special experience.

Don't do it! We have cookies waiting for you on the dark side! :D

Must stick to the plan then. It's my Christmas present from the wife, but damn the GTX1080 costs the same as the One X!!

True, but it rids you of having to wait and wait and wait for MS to approved the damn game patches! And it opens you up to the glorious world of VR. :sly:

I MIGHT get the game again just for Xbox One X, but let's wait and see what Digital Foundry says. I'm also interested to see how far the Pro version will be improved. I think it looks and runs good. But if there is a HUGE step ahead on the X, i might buy the game for that console again.

I've got to hand it your team Ian, the game looks superb on the Xbox One X. The visuals are a significant step up on every front; in terms of frame rate, textures and anti-aliasing, it's a huge improvement over the standard Xbox One version!

I got my Xbox One X last night but it took so long for the game to load that I didn't get but a few minutes to check it out. But when it finally started, WOW!! It looked so much better right from the opening sequence. The menus looked sharper. The track surfaces look more dark and rich like they should, the interior of the cars shows a lot more detail now, the AI cars look good out on the track and now they are clear in the rearview mirrors, the fencing along the tracks doesn't have that jagged look anymore.

The last race I ran last night went into dusk and I noticed that the sunlight was streaming through the trees in a more uniform straight pattern than before. By the time the race was finished my headlights had come on. At the end of the race when you see your car coming towards you, The headlights had a more realistic twinkling look to them as opposed to the sort of round fuzzy look like they had before.

The only negatives I saw were that the white lines along the sides of the track still had a little jagged look about them and some trees were still popping in from nowhere as you go towards them. But I think Ian said earlier in this thread where they might have a coming fix for that.

I only have a 1080p tv, I can only imagine how good it looks in 4k.

I am also waiting for some one to do actual analysis. I will only consider PS4P if it actually has better gfx, not sure down-sampling is enough to justify the upgrade. May be next year with slim version and price cut.

Ian great news for us PS4 Pro users
But we need improvements in other areas too
Tires temperature and fix some tires because in some cars the wet tires in dry asfalt are like slicks (ex: clio cup)
A complete no sense
Make the Downshift Protection optional or improve it,but should be optional
That feature ruins my laps

Keep the good work guys

1 - and since when wet tyres even last on the dry? Have you have ran with even overheated DRY tyres in dry tarmac? It's not as bad but not pleasant either. Now imagine wets on dry and all those thread blocks melting and moving around...

2 - No it shouldn't. SMS already said They will make it more tolerant though.

I can now run an AI field of 23 cars again with no problems. That's probably the best thing to come out of upgrading to the XBOX1X. I did have an issue last night where the game froze at the point right before you select your user name. No buttons on my Fanatec V2 wheel worked. I had to eject the disc, power off the wheel, restart it and reinsert the disc. Then it froze up again in the opening sequence where it's showing Sugo from above. But this time my home button worked and I went back to the Xbox dashboard, quit the game then relaunched it and it was fine after that.

I saw where another Fanatec user had the same issue on launch day.

Indeed but seems the PS4 version has a terrible optimization.... So wiating the 3.00 patch to see if LOD pops has gone . I hope so badly ...
The game looks absolutely stunning on One X, almost on a par with my maxed PC version. You will at some point just have to accept that graphically the One X is just a much more capable machine. MS have done an unbelievable job with it. PS4 has had the upper hand this gen in terms of power. The One X changes that

So far this gen I’ve bought most multiplatform games on PS4, from now I’ll be buying them all on One X.

I've said it a couple of times before and I'll say it again: XBX and PS4P are the first class citizens now. Games will work on XB1 and PS4 (because they have to), but they won't look like anything like the promo videos and screenshots because those will all be from PS4P and XBX.

... This obvious for the X. One year later the Pro this is sure she's more powerfull. Not a problem for me. Seems a very good console. The Pro however can make better than the actual Pcars 2 graphics. i just say this.

I was really headed to the PC route but finances are tight with the holidays...I see that the xbox one x seem to be much better based on everyone's reviews graphically.....My real question is how the game plays, like FFB, clutch, understeer, etc...If i can confirm that this working great, I will buy the console and game this weekend....I think this unconfirmed update for ps4 pro will be really good but I think it will never be the same as xbox one x based on the abilities of the machines....need some reviews on this....

New patch today on the One X fixed the tree thinning out issue. Might have fixed some AA too, hard to tell though.

XOX is of course a little more powerful than Pro but the Devs have also done a much better job of improving the engine for XOX. Seems they have done almost nothing when it comes to PS4 Pro by comparison. Pro is simply not being utilised as it should with the PS4 PC2 engine. For example - the awful LOD changes (absent on XOX from what I've seen on Youtube) show how little effort has been made with the Pro.

Yeah the LOD changes, trees popping etc ... The Pro is capable for not having this .

Can anyone confirm that the Xbox one x doesn't not have the same issues as the ps4 pro like the low sound, Ffb, clutch, etc

Project Cars 2 looks amazingly gorgeous  on Xbox One X but please bring us a better AA ;) there is definitely an issue with AA for PC2 on console. Anyway thank you @IanBell (and to your team) for this amazing game !
