My 'Perfect Pedal' arrived this week from the good people at Hindsight Engineering and I'm itching to get this fitted to the cockpit đź‘Ť

Some pictures:

It looks fantastic and has a superb build-quality. Mary at Hindsight Engineering was helpful and professional and the pedal arrived very quickly from the US (to the UK), safe and sound.

As soon as I've fitted it, I'll report back with my findings... :)

for $250 i would hope so. i would much rather just buy club sport pedals then just a single brake module.

What does the perfect pedal do?
How does it enhance the G25/27 pedal experience?
Is it better than Clubsport pedals?

It's kinda like putting an oil cylinder on your brake pedal. The more you push, the harder the brakes get. Just like in a car.

Look like a nice bit of kit, hopefully once I move home I'm going to build a custom rig and these type of peddles are the rite ticket. Look forward to the review.

Give the guy a break guys, why have these forums got so much attitude at times?

We are all fully aware of the Clubsport Pedals and their tunning kit.
Clupsport pedals wont work on a Logitech wheel so this is an obvious upgrade for Logitech users and would go well with users that already have modded their wheel with a proper racing wheel, thats something that cant be done on a Fanatec wheel. Their has to be quite a few that are interested in this product even at its what seems rather high price point.

It would be nice to have a detailed review on the "Perfect Pedal" particulary also in photos shown when installed. Look forward to it coming.

I dont think Stega ever really got around to the comparison he once mentioned doing. So Id welcome "the_greeze" own input into this and how it improves a players enjoyment or even simulation aspect with games.

I've seen something on their website that says it lets you use the pedals with a Logitech Wheel, G25 I think, although on the CS Pedals page it doesn't mention this device or that they can be used with the Logitech, confusion, again.

And yeah, give the guy a break, if I had the money I'd get this device.

You can use G25 pedals with a Fanatec not CSP with a Logitech, well thats my understanding mate.

The new 2nd generation adapter also has a X360 pedals connector which they always advertised since the launch of GT3RS V1 but only recently in this 2nd gen adapter cable included support for.

My mistake, I read that the other way around, dammit !

As I understand it, you can use the CSOP with a Logitech wheel – but not with PS3, only with PCs.

Take a look here – in particular the bit about "Gaming Consoles" where there is no mention of compatabilty of the CSP with anything other than Fanatec wheels:

http://www.fanatec.de/webshop/new_eu/product_info.php?cPath=28&products_id=68&session=true

And if you look here, you'll see confirmation from Fanatec:

This "Perfect Pedal" sounds very interesting. Really looking forward to a review đź‘Ť

Of course you can use them with a PC and via individual USB and as two devices. For consoles the pedals must connect to the wheel. :)

But with the perfect pedal, you HAVE to take them outta that case, because there is no point of doing a $250 upgrade to make it feel more realistic, then putting it back in that plastic.

Well? How's the pedal? I'm debating whether or not to pull the trigger on one of these.

...ok, I lied. I've already decided to get one and I'm debating whether I should get it before xmas or wait.

C'mon, Greeze!

I fitted the 'Perfect Pedal' to my cockpit this morning and all I can say is "Wow!" What a difference! đź‘Ť

Okay, you've seen the pictures of it (if not, take a look at the first post in this thread); not too different from your standard G25 pedal. It has an oil-filled damper which offers resistance to the travel on the pedal in the same manner as an actual car. The pressure is read by a small circuit board tucked away in the pedal and the info is passed to the G25. It's completely plug-and-play. Don't ask me how it works 'cos I don't know. Magic, probably. :)

The first thing I noticed is that it has considerably less travel than the standard pedal (a cause of some initial concern actually) and it's a bit harder to push! Fitting is straightforward; obviously, my pedals are already out of the original plastic pedal-box so it was a simple case of removing the old G25 brake pedal and bolting this one in its place. The wire connections are colour-coded so you can't go wrong there. Easy! Now on to testing.

I tried the pedal with "Gran Turismo 5: Prologue", "Need For Speed: Shift" and "Colin McRae: Dirt" over the course of the morning and the results are absolutely superb. You get so much more control over braking with this. The resistance offered by the oil-filled damper is spot on; I can now accurately slow the car as in real life. No more clumsy stabbing the brakes into the corners etc. It's actually quite hard to put into words just how good this is. My initial concerns of the reduced pedal-travel were unfounded, it works like a charm. The pedal gets progressively harder to push as you increase braking pressure and gives you a really good 'feel' to the brakes. It's transformed my cockpit! One thing I would say is that it would probably be better if your pedals were either mounted out of the pedal-box or that the pedal-box is securely fixed to something solid as the force needed to push the pedal has increased (not drastically though!)

Pros:
Accurately simulates a real brake pedal.
Easy to fit.
Superb build quality.
Transforms your driving experience.

Cons:
Could be considered a bit pricey (particularly for non-US customers).

Overall, I highly recommend it and defy anyone not to be impressed! I appreciate that some may consider it expensive but that is purely subjective. For me, it's a must-have. I wouldn't go back to the old G25 pedal now! đź‘Ť

I wonder why don't they make a full pedal solution. It'd be great seeing the lack of options in the market right now, it's either Fanatec or Ecci from what I've been given to understand.

I love it! I'm surprised the major companies aren't doing it. I'd like to hear how it is in a few months of heavy use; does it break in?

250 bucks? US dollars?

IF so heck, they should give me whole setup for 250 bucks! For me I went with CloubSport Peddals for cheaper.

$249!!! WTF!!! Anyone who buys this has more money than sense, I'd put it towards a Fanatec TG3 RS V2 & Clubsport Pedals!

Can you use the CSP with a G25/27 on the PS3?

Well you can get a full set of clubsport pedals with a GT3RS wheel for 320$. So for an extra 70$ you get a better set of pedals and a wheel as well. Unless you really are tied to the g25/g27 it might make more sense to just get the whole Fanatec setup instead.

That's your choice, the pedal was mine; why can't you respect that? I have the money and I'll do whatever the hell I like with it. See the 2nd, 3rd and 4th post in this thread.

I'm getting fed up with the childish attitude on here.

There is some kind of weird stigma around spending money on toys, yet no one raises an eyebrow after you spend $250 on a night out.

I think i would prefer a perfect pedal over a couple of dodgy facebook photos and a hangover.

Having had a close look at the pedal, does it look like something you might be able to fabricate? Is there a logical break down of components or is it all one tidy unit?
