Performance Points Go Up...?

Greetings speedsters,

Couple questions, why is it that when I complete a race in a seasonal event; Super Car Festival driving a Ford GT '05 to be specific, sometimes the performance points go up?

The requirement is 620pp, I've got the limiter down to like 96.something percent and on occasion the car has gone up to 621, is there a gremlin inside the game tuning the car while I drive (wouldn't that be nice)?

Also, if I tune a car, put it in my favorites, is the tuned car in arcade mode or is it just the car?

Thanks!

Ted

The game sometimes tries to calculate whether a car has too much power for the chassis. Doesn't do a very good job of it, though. Happens to the TVR Speed 12, the big Aston, the Gillet Vertigo and (at one point, thought they thankfully fixed it) the Chaparral 2J.

And if you put a car in your favorites and drive it in Arcade it will be just as it was in GT Life.

Is the car still new? New cars take time to break in and as they do, the hp goes up causing the performance points to go up as well.

I was always under the impression is was the engine breaking in when it happened to me.

Around 70.5 miles, the engine is completely broken in. Some cars take longer though, up to 110 miles!

That's curious, I've got over 17k on the thing and I other than trying adjusting the tuning I got from praiano63 it still did it even just a few days ago. It just shot up 8 points today but that's cause I got an oil change.
Thanks guys!

I would suspect so being you've got new parts in there. How many miles before you should overhaul an engine?

Most tuners will tell that 187 miles will be fully broken in for most cars. That's 300 km for the rest of you.

There are some race cars that actually take more than that. I know of one that took 300 miles to be fully broken in.

No engine is fully broken in at 70 miles or even 110 miles. I've broken in alot of cars and can tell you it takes at least 185 miles for any car to be fully broken in. Not sure where you got your info from, but its completely wrong.

All cars are completely broken in at exactly 300 kms (~185 miles - as GTP_CargoRat and IvanOffalich have mentioned).
There is no break in needed after an engine rebuild - assuming it has already been broken in and you didn't rebuild the engine before the car has travelled 300 kms.

You're kidding, right? Please tell me how I was rude. Sorry I'm not Mr. Sensitive, but I would hardly call my reply to you rude.

It sucks when you've been called out on a rude post doesn't it? I can tell just by the way you typed out this message that you're shocked that I took time out of my busy schedule to reply to your ignorant reply. Now listen up, mate. Your point of view and my point of view are two totally different things. What may not seem like an insult to you may seem offensive to me. I'm not going to argue with you, so if you were hoping for a fight, you're not getting one from me. On my ignore list you go. Go ahead and make yourself comfortable with the other heartless folks on there.

It looks like you're the one who's Mr. Sensitive.

What the hell are you on about? Your whole post makes no sense at all...none. All I did was reply to your post and now you're all butthurt and have to rant about something that makes no sense at all. Not concerned at all about being on your ignore list, but if my simple reply warrants that, then you better get some thicker skin. I've seen some sensitive people before but wow, you pretty much just raised the bar.

I usually have to do second oil change (Change oil when I first get car) at around 70 miles or 80, but break in is closer to 200 miles.
