Every time I look at Alpha's shot I fall a little more in love with it.

Thanks for your input Sejtur and Beerz 👍
btw that was a very intense battle with moglet
I must admit I get lucky again ...
last time with Jacoja was also one vote difference

Wow, a great battle between Mog and Franz. Too bad Mog is out so early.

Thanks to all who voted for my shot, I am really happy with how it came out. 👍

Thanks very much for the votes everyone... And good luck to loon in future tourneys 👍

Sorry for being so late, I had to travel to a national rally event and visit a dozen of Evo's at RMC, so I hadn't my pc to vote this last competitions. I was looking forward to see how high the skill level is now, and I was amazed again with this round with so extreme work delivered out.

Geetown's Solstice. I think SlipZtrem may kill this entry easly, so enjoy the possibility of passing safe this round hehe.

Jacoja's M3. It's like a pre-rendered image to a cover game, spectacular and vivid.

Beerz's Zonda. That angle gives a very beautiful look to that car, and the composition is very good too.

Tangled's CuloGordo. Amazing work again with the tone. That makes your work so exquisite...

Alpha's Vettes. Stunnign amplitude feeling, so awesome as the tone and lights as well. Only some details with the grille resolution could penalty a bit the overall brilliant work.

Sejtur's Eight. Probably this is the shot I love the most. You performed your personal style keeping a superb definition in the car.

It's very brutal man

Bram's TT. That photo is purely technique, very similar to other previous ultrashiny pics but finally it got my vote.

Fran's Elise. In this one was a tie for me, both are excellent in execution so they had to fight with the emotional factor, what is excellent too. I don't know, I went with the Elise but I'd had voted twice is I could.

You could, actually.

And thanks for the vote and the positive comment, alex. 👍

Can someone please tell me what I did wrong with my shot that lead TW to take the lead, by...erm...quite a lot... If I could know then I can improve or don't you want me to improve? :)

It's not a bad shot per se, but - and this is just the opinion of someone who has never been to any sort of art or photography class (other than this forum!) - the car is too centred and the lighting doesn't do it any favours (too much shadow). Even so, the overall angle doesn't really show up any of the car's features; it looks like it could be any old hatchback to me.

speedster, your shot I thought was a little boring to be honest. It's a basic side on blur shot, and the car is really really dark.

When you look at TW's shot, he's taken into account the composition more carefully by placing the car in the bottom 1/3rd of the photograph (the golden section/rule of thirds etc.) and the rest has a nice colour balance cast over it, aswell as some very nice lighting going on. The blurring that has occured of the background also works well.

When you look at your shot the car is very much centered and the background blur looks great from the track to the barrier but beyond that it looks disjointed. The trees that have been blurred really stand out and distract the viewer from the rest of the image because they're sticking up from the track into the negative space.

The contrast between the bright foreground and the dark background is nice, but yet again that big dark car in the middle just ruins that contrast completely. Since the theme was Clio Meeting it would have been nice to be able to see the car.

I didn't vote for this shot myself, because I know you're capable of much better. Had the car been zoomed in on a little more and brightened up a little it might have been quite a bit better.

I hope that doesn't sound too harsh but you asked why it was lacking in votes and that is why I think it is.

I think the Mog's explanation definitely is the answer of your question. I've just noticed most of the winner shots are following thet 1/3 rule more or less. Well, there are a lot of amazing photos what don't use it strictly, or are caotic intentionally.

For me your pic looks like a PMC rule with overcontrast. The sun in the front, shadowed car and lateral blur are good things to merge. The problem is how you merged them.

Yeah, I have to agree. Mog pretty much nailed it.

The composition and lighting don't do your shot any favours.
It would of been better if you added a little angle to the shot and not had the car pretty much bang in the middle of the frame.
Also having the car that dark doesn't look good and the glow in the bg really brings out the trees which is distracting.
The lighting over the whole image doesn't seem to match up.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, just giving you my thoughts.

Keep taking shot and playing around in PS, you will get better.
Look at other users work too for ideas and inspiration, it can really help. 👍

Okay, thanks I was expecting critiscm thats why I asked. I can't believe I forgot about the rules of thirds :dunce: I have used it on most my shots since I read the tut's, must have been cause I took such a long break, I completely forgot about it.
Another probelm I did have was, I was changing photoshop (To CS up from 7.0) after I sent it which was stupid. I learnt new cleaning techniques....after I sent it. It was going to muck up any who I was just hoping people would give it more of a chance. Oh well, thanks for the advice guys.

Now I am going to go and edit the shots that I couldn't be bothered to do before, and make more of a prune out of myself!
