To be honest, im disapointed overall with the end result of entries this Tournament. Comparing it to previous tournaments i dont think this range of shots, are quite upto scratch. Theres a few really nice ones, Mogs, Slips is pretty good, Ultrashot and with Dead_poetic being my favourite. Like 440 mentioned before, i dont believe everyone is utilizing the tools available. But with that said best of luck to everyone, and i hope to see the standards raise.

Might i add, jacoja07 your doing a top job 👍

well i'm pretty sure we all did the best we can do.sorry if we're not as good as you. we'll show u the best one day. it's just a matter of time buddy.

Well, I am not trying to be rude or mean or to upset anyone, but if you weren't really going to utilize the 2.0 rules, you probably should have entered the PMC side of the comp. I would have liked to enter the 2.0 side, but all of the slots were filled when I caught wind of the tourney. I don't mind entering the PMC of course, but I can accomplish much more with the 2.0. But I guess if you want to win the PMC, it takes much more photographic skills rather than editing skills, so I need to challenge myself.

It just seemed to me like most of the shots were bland and boring without much editing done to them. But on the other hand, there were some really nice shots that had some nice work done to them. But anyway, that was my take on the entries. So don't get too upset because a few of us wished we would have seen more impressive entries. It's just that I was expecting to seem some great stuff, and then it was like, "Oh... that doesn't really have any editing done to it... why didn't they just enter the PMC?" Anyway, hopefully next round will be more exciting.👍

fine :D i guess i should have taken a second look. sorry. i was just taken a back by the comments. thanks for the vote btw :)

Thanks to those who voted for me, glad you like them.

What I discovered though, is that I've certain people voting for both entries in a category, is this allowed? I'm just asking, I just saw it and I thought it was weird...

that would just blow the whole point of having a poll or voting wouldn't it ? i say no. tell someone.

Well, it was close for a while, but it's as good as lost now.

So, I really appreciate all the votes on my drifter, it's good to know still many people liked my pic.

And congrats, dman! Best of luck for the rest of the tournament! 👍

Thanks. I really liked your shot - I think if it had more color adjustment done, it'd look even better.

Guys if you’re voting for a car based on a model you like, then that is a bad move I reckon. However I reckon votes should be selected on how much work has gone into a shot on improving by the looks of it.

I am just trying to point out some bad jagged edges, which could of made the car feel more natural.

----

Anyway it looks like I have lost in this round, so good luck for the next round MiniCooper.

Please don't send me PMs questioning my decision to not vote for you please. i vote for what I believe is the better shot. I guess it's easy to overcome jagged edges by just having a blurry shot.

Sorry Cod, but it was meant to look like feedback, however you should have told this to me by PM. Anyway back on topic.

TVR, it's not like this is the first time you've sent unneeded PM's, or made some pretty tactless comments in a thread. If I get another mass-one about a gallery update, I'll have to finally utilize the ignore feature.

Anywho, I've waited until now to vote, and I'll stick with what I normally do in tourneys and comment. So, here we go:

Hard Braking: For some reason LOON's shot isn't showing up anymore, but I do remember what it was pretty clearly. While the colours were smooth and realistic, the Vette braking didn't give any relation to its surroundings, and because the theme implies a bit more force and aggressiveness, I like NTX's entry more. The colours pop in his typical style, and I love the placement of the Teggie; it looks like it really shouldn't be that close to the inside of the turn that early, which leads me to believe the racing line wasn't quite followed. So the driver slams the brakes on in order to slow down to take it properly, and the car's even hopping up onto its outer front. The blur just puts it into brilliance!

Debris - I tried to fool people into thinking my shot was Moglet's, since I knew we weren't using sigs. So I picked that border style, and I'm wondering if it hurt more than helped. After just winning the H2H comp, I really didn't know what to use with cones, but I remembered the Griffith coffee break and thought a shot with a good range of depth and action would work. Luckily, for once, the shot in my mind matched with what was available in game. But I knew I wouldn't last against Moglet! While something feels slightly off with the way the cones are moving, the more I look at it the more it has such a feel of balance. It really is an artistic shot, which isn't surprising because we've come to expect that from him. The tone is wonderful, the shot is clean, and it's an honour to be have at least stood a bit of a chance against the reigning champ!

Location, Location - LG will be picking up my vote. Nothing inherently wrong with jg's entry, it's just that GT has it's limitations. If the game had the abilities, we'd see a full forest, but as is, I see flat cardboard forest! The tone is great though, and it's such an epic shot that the cardboard thing really doesn't hurt it too much... but I like the New York shot a bit more. The lighting, the reflections, the cleanliness, it's a bit of a surprise because it doesn't feel like LG's normal smile. A very hard decision!

British Engineering - And they're both in France. Another tough one; Cooper's Lotus has superior colouring throughout the shot, and it felt like it should be accompanying a magazine article. TVR's is more artistic in my opinion, I like the framing and the way the zebra stripes force the eye towards the car. But it's washed out and lacking the stand-out power of the Elise. Odd, since his recent H2H entry was full of colour.

Honda Type-R Collection - Ugh, toughest one of the group. Drift's is the more action-oriented, despite there being two cars in D_P's. My reasoning is it feels like the camera's the bumper of another car, and we're watching from bumper-level of the Integra trying to make a quick inside jump on camera car. It's also a harder blur from what I can tell, D_P's being a single-point. However, D_P's works for me because the blur, while easier, is pulled off very well, and there is very little pixelation. The sky is also a lot cleaner, without the seperation with Drift's. In the end, I went with D_P's, but holy crap did that take a while to choose.

Drifting - DMan's is dark, but moody, and it's a well done Photo Travel blur. For pulling off that front wheel with the headlights; well done! The Z... well, it doesn't look like anything was done post-GT, so I'm wondering why the 2.0 entry? It's a decent shot, but a bit of colour editing and maybe some cleanup would've really brought it out. Drift shots seem easy, but a really convincing, powerful one does take some work. And I know that car/track combo can deliver! 👍

An Angel In Darkness - Hmmm... The GT always shoots nice, so advantage Rovens. A pretty monumental blur job too... but it's just not consistent. The GT doesn't look quite at home in it's surroundings, but I can't put my finger on why; it just feels like it was added onto an action shot, instead of being immersed in it. The wheels are blurred well (perhaps that's the issue? The wheels being too blurred or not enough?), and as I said, that curved blur is something else, but due to it not quite synching up, I voted for Ultrashot's entry. The glow is too much for me, and while the noise filter is subtle enough, I noticed the noisy blur effect at the tip of the car's shadow... I don't know about anyone else, but it bothers me when PS does that to an otherwise smooth blur. I quick rub with a blur tool solves it. It's a much simpler blur, but the shot is very moody, so another pretty close one for me!

Las Vegas shot - Wow... both of these needed some slower shutters. And again I do kinda have to ask why people have such a fear of joining the PMC side. Anyways, voted for the Viper because of the sense of speed; the Dualnote's reflections on its bumper, eek! It'd be a wonderful shot if the car was clear and the rest of the shot was blurry (a very narrow field of depth), but in its current state, there's just not a lot of colour variation or sense of speed, and not really a whole lot of Vegas-ness.

Good job all though, and best of luck Moglet, I'm rooting for you!

^ Excellent write up, Slip. I wish I had time to comment on each photo, but low and behold. Maybe later in the tourney (there will be fewer entries).
