Photoshop Competition - Hot or Not?

I've been looking through the competitions old & new & it appears there is no photoshop competition that is still running. The creative competitions are the closest I found & they aren't exactly your own work & they don't seem to be going any more.

So, my idea is that every week, anyone who wants to enter can do anything to their image using Photoshop or other image editing software such as Gimp. The last weeks winner chooses a theme for the next week & so on.

I have no idea how favoured this will be but I just thought it was a good idea.

I'll give you 1 week to vote, if it as favoured I'll send a PM to a moderator & get permission to start it.

Well to be honest, the Photomode 2.0 and the Head2Head competition allows so much to be edited, there's really no need for a competition where you can do everything you want...

Success is indeed not guaranteed but have you ever thought while editing an entry for one of the other competitions "I just wish it wasn't against the rules to use this filter, it'd be perfect!"? This competition is designed to let your imagination run wild with no limits.

Actually, the GT4 Photomode/Photoshop Competition ran for quite a while, and produced many many quality entries! Unfortunately, with the dwindling interest in the competitions, the Photoshop one, traditionally the comp which takes the most effort to do (with the possible exception of the old Magazine comp... who remembers that one?) recieved less and less entries each week until it sorta died out.

I saw some entries from that magazine competition in the hall of fame. Looks interesting.

Yes, I loved that comp. I entered a few times but it seemed as time went on I guess I just got bored with it and didn't wan to take the time to do anything like that anymore, plus the themes seemed a bit too challenging, and hard to complete every week.

the photoshop comp was my favorite one... It really threw down the gauntlet for anyone who thought they really had some photo-editing skills.. It brought out some of the best work from the heavy-hitters on this site..
I thought it was the best comp when it was running strong..

I think its a good idea as it gives more freedom for creativity, also looking at the Hall of fame the result can be really nice. The only thing I would ask on this it's longer deadline to do it.

Good idea 👍 It'd be great to know all the reasons people didn't like it so we can change it slightly so that more people are interested.

Unless the votes suddenly change, it looks like we're going to get it. Time to get to work on some banners! Anyone who wants to help just say.

I'm about half way there with the banners so the thread should be up sometime later today Not much point keeping this thread open so I'll lock it.
