What are the *small* additions, that you want to see in GT7?

There are plenty of discussions about what cars, or tracks we want, or about how much we want an old school career structure. But what are the small things, that you are missing?

Wether that's a customization option, a car part, a qol improvement, or anything along these lines.

I would love the see some old school Watanabe, or Campagnolo rims. The game lacks old school rims in general

The ability to see "Distance driven" for cars, and sort them according to that criteria. (Was in GTS)

Collector level that continues to grow past 50

More filters and sorting options in the showcase (like filter wide bodied cars // non wide bodied cars in liveries)

A convenient way to check the completion status of CE (bronze/silver/gold for all tracks, without having to go inside each CE) (was in GTS, is available in GT7 for missions)

I'd like an easy way to just look at the cars in my garage.

The one you're currently driving shows up in turntable view for about five seconds before the game automatically switches to the extreme closeups. You can manually switch between the different views, but you aren't allowed to linger on any of them. It's like one of those websites with a poorly-programmed slideshow that doesn't have a pause option.

The cars you aren't driving don't even give you that much unless you "get in" them. My First Gran Turismo brought back the classic turntable view, and I was very happy about that.

I agree with the above plus I want a customisable dash - I don't need a track map while I adjust my brake balance.

Suzaka logo, is a popular one.

I would like an aftermarket rev counter in the cockpit of engine swapped car. The stock rev counter in a Mazda 3 with a 787B engine swap for example is useless as it's always over the redline.

Add GT Auto rollcages and tow hooks to GR Supra N24 Gr.4. In lieu of a full interior, these should be quick job as they are mostly the same parts from its road counterpart.

I am not sure if these are „small“:

Sound:
  • Add missing upshift bangs for cars that have this feature and are known/loved for this (A45, Golf GTI, C63 AMG to name a few)
  • Add Original AMG Rear Wing option for the A45
  • Shaker/Blower Scoop options for Muscle Cars
  • Show selected „setting“/tune in Garage/car selection screen

Not small, but some driving academy with tests which you have to pass before you could enter Sport mode. With things like overap, how to overtake legally etc. I think many "dirty" players are not like that because of bad attitude, but they just do not know the basic rules of racing.

I don't need any additions. I would just like PD to stop. Stop changing the physics. Stop changing the PP values of the cars. Stop changing the tire modeling. Stop changing the force feedback arbitrarily on people's wheels. Stop changing how traction control works. Stop changing the BoP in sport mode and just allow people to tune their suspension and aero for their driving style.

Constant changes that make absolutely no sense are driving people away from the game. These tweaks may have been necessary at launch, but the game is 3 years old now. If you haven't figured it out how to "fix" the game by now, just stop trying and focus your efforts on GT8.

AI cars that don’t randomly dab the brakes, just before the apex of a turn. That would be nice.
The ability to sell parts, aswell as vehicles, To be able to sell both to other players and set the price as you wish.
The ability to share tunes with other players
Have engines that are taken out during a swap, stored in your parts bin.
To be able to add more than 200kg of ballast.

  • More than 180 seconds to end the race after checkered flag in custom lobbies
  • skippable (3 star) tickets animation
  • Complete/customizable psvr2 hud (not so small, i know)
  • Show/hide hud button

- Chasecam: Wider adjustments for height, distance, lateral rotation axis sensitivity and an camera shake adjustment oprion.

- Cockpit/hood cam: FoV adjustment, wider adjustments for seat height/distance, option to remove the steering wheel in the cockpit camera, add a new hood camera and another one closer to the dashboard.

Tickets: Offer tickets based on distance traveled and game time instead of a single ticket for completing the daily challenge. Ex. First ticket for completing 50Km, second ticket for completing 150Km, bonus ticket for completing a 3-hour daily section and so on with any possible goal.

Tuning/Customization: Offer the option of a shortcut to access tuning/customization directly from the race menu, similar to the menu for buying tires and ballast.

Garage/showroom: Add the option to view the car in 3D, similar to the Showroom VR mode, with the same locations, some new ones and the return of the GTS locations.

AI: Add voice recognition and AI options to the interface to make menu navigation easier and faster. For example: "Granturismo, take me to the Café", "Granturismo, take me to the garage" and so on.

Granturismo 7 already has great foundations, but a lot could be done to build the game even further if SIE/PD/Yamauchi-san were willing to step out of their comfort zone and learn to count on the help of the community instead of living closed in their hermetic bubble where they think they know what is best for the game and for us players.

Totally agree with that ticket part.Should be more than one ticket for a day if you really drive a lot.

Ability to disable dumb oil, wash, wide body animations, it is "fun" the first time, but after that...

Ability to cut the roulette animation straight to the end

Ability to cut credits animation when getting a cash reward or selling a car and so on.

Bucket seats which i think it will come probably on the next game seeing how you can fit a roll cage in most of the cars, steering wheels, being able to have different wheels front to back and also paint them individually, choose tire dimensions both profile and width, selecting the decal finish for every decal individually, transmission and drivetrain swaps and more that i can't think of right now

Triple the payout on all single player races.
More than 3-4 useable grind races or make custom races more valuable for income.
⬆️ yes, the "economy" seems to be "designed for the grind". Changing the rewards sounds like a low effort fix
The ability to see "Distance driven" for cars, and sort them according to that criteria.
I sort my cars on distance regularly to identify those new ones I have never driven

I'd like the choice to exclude/include wide bodies and exclude un-editable liveries.

------

My major beefs with GT7 revolve around the inconsistency in the UI. Every component made their own choice on stuff like "Should CIRCLE take the user directly back out, or should the user have to confirm the desire to exit".

And stupid stuff, like you can pull up a list of cars you have tagged, you can even select an entry for a car which is currently available, but instead of taking you to the place where you have the ability to buy the car, it does ... nothing.

Finally, while most of the PSVR2 implementation is fantastic, there needs to be a better way to adjust the position of the driver, and the VR Replay function is TRULY AWFUL.

  • improved car selling menu search. Sometimes it takes forever to find a specific car you want to sell.
  • ability to make multiple "custom" lists (like the favourites list) in you garage menu.

I'd like more QoL changes to the menus. A 'home' button that takes you back to the home screen after a race instead of clicking back half a dozen times. The garage menu having direct buttons straight to the Tuning Shop and GT Autos sections. Whilst they're at it, why not just combine the two? They're both integral to modifying a car so why split them? Combine the three car buying sections under one section too, Brand Central, Used Cars and Legendary Cars. Three separate sections within a 'buying cars' section.

The whole menu system feels clunky. Like its just been added to and added to with each new game and new features instead of them properly looking at how it could all be streamlined to make it better to navigate.

but how do you know when it comes from UCD or LCD ? They come with plenty of miles already.

Yes, exclude un-editable liveries, good idea too !

yes also !

and a better HUD for VR (or better a custom HUD everywhere, to choose what you want to be displayed or not)

A 'home' button that takes you back to the home screen after a race instead of clicking back half a dozen times.
I use Options then "Go to world map" (which is the last item, sadly), a home button would be great

Oh, and I'd like a Headlights ON/OFF switch so I have a better chance of reading the car's actual instruments. I use PSVR2 with no overlaid car, track or assist stuff, so I rely on the original instruments. (Many of the beloved older cars have a poor UI as well!)
