Since when was 6'0 considered "very tall"? I'm six feet tall and I always considered that to be fairly average.

I would consider 6'0" to be 'tall' rather than 'very tall' as well. I think the national UK average is about 5' 8" or thereabouts, but it depends where you live. For instance, I'm 5' 10" and when I go back and visit my family in Kent I find that I'm usually at the taller end of the scale in shop queues, bars, etc. But when I come home to Jersey I find I'm fairly average and infact there are plenty of guys taller than me. It's a noticable difference.

Average male height in the US and UK is something around 5'9 or 5'10 I believe, so 6 foot qualifies as tall. I'm 6'4 so I tend to tower over most people I've realized

Well both my parents are 5'6 and a lot of my friends are under 5'6 mind you they are the girls.
