hi i haven't posted in a while because i've been playing gt4 :) so i hope in gt5 u can pimp cars out make them look cool and make your own design and stuff imagine your favourite car looking the way you wannt :) đź‘Ť what do you think?

Ohhhh I can't wait for that: the idea of putting 26" cromed wheels on car is just great :yuck: . If people "pimp" their cars they will lose performence, as simple as that (and most of the time cars look like crap).

In terms of pimping your car, no, that should be in GT, modifyiong your car visually in terms of bodywork and paint, sure. But not the mods you generally see in Max Power and Rev's, proper aero kits and a proper paint shop for sponsors and such on your car. Besides that, this topic has been beaten to death a thousand and one times.

On the other hand, include it and let the kids see just how badly lambo doors, cut springs and 176" chrome spinners make cars handle.

HAHAAH!!!
Well, Id like that, but IMO no bigger than 20s on cars and 24s on SUVs, and no horrible mods that belong in the 'questionnable mods' section.
I like scissor doors.

how exactly to lambo doors decrease performance?
Weight, they tend to increase it rather than what you should want to be doing to your car, decreasing it.

Yep gotta agree on that point. The hinges have to be much bigger and stronger than the standard items and the doors themselves have to be strengthened increasing the weight further.

As for "pimping" cars, buy need for speed or midnight crud! (< oops, I made a typo :sly: ).

As someone else said, this has already been posted to death in the GT5 wish list threads.

**** THAT. If you want to whore out your car, then GT is not the game for you. I think the whole idea of those idiotic so-called "mods" is the stupidest thing in the world, and I have no problems in telling that to people that I see with cars like that. Seriously, I'll laugh at them, and when they ask me why, I tell them right to their face that they're the proud owners of the dumbest-looking car in town.

Hell, I don't even use the mods that already exist in GT.. I drive every single car 100% stock.

What, you don't want the option of chrome spinners, hydraulics, and neons on a Bentley Speed 8? Cruisin down La Sarthe on 24's?

Me neither. Though that would be pretty funny. With car damage and flipping, idiots could learn lessons in aerodynamics if they hop the front end up at 190mph...

^^

Seriously though, this isn't exactly what GT's about though is it? I like Gran turismo because it doesn't feature this kind of stuff.

I could care less if it did feature it, it wouldn't affect my enjoyment of the game if it didn't replace anything, I just wouldn't use it.

As long as it isn't required, then adding visuals such as sponsors would not be a big problem for me. Like some have already posted, I simply wouldn't use it if I didn't want to.

If PD implemented this and we were required to "pimp" our cars to earn more points or something to this effect, then no thanks.

if youve got the money for lambo doors im sure youd have the money to mod the engine to make up for the extra weight. not that i like lambo doors on anything other than lambos mind you

I can tell you right now that this idea isn't going to be a well-respected idea. A trend usually happens- I completely slam an idea, but two or three souls are ready to disagree with me and we only get to increase our chances of being notified by the Moderators. So let's see how this goes.

Pimping out rides isn't going to make cars perform any better. This is more of a personal taste deal. Closest you'll get to "pimped-out" cars are usually the Tuner cars in GT4. Use them instead. People don't want GT5 to be the next NFS:U (and never will be unless there's a complete philosophy change). Some elements of pimped-out cars, however, are good ideas. Especially that of painting up cars. In fact, visit and reply to my Racing Modification thread to discuss actual racing modifications and not hardcore tuner cars.

Don't be surprised if this thread gets locked anytime soon because some of the material was covered SEVERAL times here on GTPlanet.

Or to not bother with the doors and just modify the engine yet further.

Or have some beers.

If they were real Lambo style doors anyway I could understand the fuzz, but all you get are some normal doors you have to open a bit to not rip the lock out and then push upwards. That's just pure :yuck:
