Pole was a 2:02:8xx forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think so. He's fast but wasn't that fast last night.

Mopar has a talent for putting down a Crazy Fast Lap Time when he's challenged or if he feels the time is a 'Mythic Time'. I've witnessed him do it in SNAILs time and time again.

In fact, the first time Mopar did that in SNAILS was when Mopar & I were running a practice session with SNAILS and our laps times were better than the rest of the field. Someone in the room commented that a certain time was the best you could run with the car & track combo. MightyMopar didn't believe that that was true and commented on what his sectors times were and suggested that if he could put it all sectors together, he would beat that time. The group laughed at him and said the time is a Mythic time and couldn't be done unless he was a robot or an alien. Mopar simply said, 'Challenge Accepted' and got to work. He ran lap after lap, and then broke the Mythic Time and continued to break a little more and a little more. Before the night was over Mopar had run a time that was not only thought to be a mythic time, but his time was thought to be Impossible, until he ran it with the SNAIL group in the room. Later that night the leader of the SNAIL group said, Mopar & I had already proven that we were fast enough to run in D1.

There are other things that make a huge difference. There is no substitute for seat time and practice. I know that Mopar had practiced many laps and different setup. Your setup needs to be for a purpose. During the qualifying session, were you guys running a race setup or a qualifying setup? I know Mopar ran a qualifying setup to get the 2:01:808 time. You need to make sure you have the right setup for the task ahead of you.
  • Downforce
  • Air ducts for the brakes
  • Radiator ducts
  • Tires
...just to name a few. Your qualifying setup should be a LEAN setup, and your race setup should different because it's a longer session.

I have a photo of Mopar's qualifying time, and it was a 2:01:.808. I'm sure Mopar will look at the video, make a comment about it and post a video of the lap time, if needed.

Here's the photo.

"Challenge Accepted" Mopy.

Road America, I sure hope we are racing in thick clouds and early in the morning. That left front tire is hard to control the temperature.

Did some testing, started with 80L on the fourth lap hit a low of 205.694. After that the left front was smoking. Did not try quali lap fuel load. Most laps were high 205.xxx to mid 206.xxx. Having issue with the car wanting to plow on the end of the turn, hurting my speed going down the straight.

I checked the long term weather forecast and it appears on race day a storm is brewing off the coast, who knows maybe CLOUDS will roll in for race time. 💡

What's your down force? I was on a 2:04 run with very low fuel. But A.I. got in the way. Ended up with a 2:05:100. Fuel loaded up, I was running the same times you are. My down force is at 4.

How is your tire wear with that lower DF?
