So, I just waited like 1.5 hours for my pizza and thought I can't be the only one who's been let down by PizzaHut one time or another.

So: which franchise do you prefer and why? Because of their quality? Speed of delivery?

I actually prefer PizzaHut to Dominos because they're usually as fast as Dominos and their pizza is way better, especially when they're cold.

There are lots of franchises out there and I can't include all of them in a poll - so please post the name of your favourite franchise. :)

Stick with Pizza Hut, simple as.

Domino's annoys the living 🤬 out of me now with their ridiculous "new" recipes and pizza's being delivered with the cheese sticking to the roof of the box. And Papa Johns, or as I now call them, Greasy Johns...I'm pretty sure that's self-explanatory. I wish there was a Pizza Hut near where I am, I'd never bother with either two of them again.

EDIT: Or better still, do you know of any worthwhile pizzeria's? That's a worthy alternative.

Indeed, pizzerias are always great - yet, neither of the ones around my place deliver pizzas and they're quite pricey as well.

Funny, I always considered Pizza Hut as the greasy one. I prefer Domino's around here. Never had an issue with "sticky cheese" and I like their crust. Little Caesars is cheep and tastes like it.

There's also Papa Murphy's which is actually a take and bake pizza. Although I'm not sure what's available in Europe...

1.5 hours? The delivery man would return with no money from me, I can tell you that.

I've been having a Domino's every week for the past two months thanks to me and my friends being so lazy, plus bored/sick of McDonalds. Their Meteor with the BBQ sauce base is amazing though and my favourite of any pizza delivery place, so I'm not complaining about the price at all, especially on Two For Tuesdays. I've never found Pizza Hut particularly enjoyable, it seems they're always really mouth-drying in comparison for some reason.

Well I work as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut. Right now our store only has 2 drivers, so shifts are like 9 hours.

That said, when there's only 2 drivers, and it gets busy, **** gets real. There's no way to regulate the deliveries either. Only takes 10 minutes to make the food, but in my area it takes at least 15 minutes one way to deliver. I usually get it done in the 40-60 minute estimation time.

That and Pizza Hut is the only delivery service on the whole island.

So with that said, I hate my job and will be resigning soon enough anyways.

Well, I can't recommend a franchise, mostly because I don't live in the US and, thus, don't have access to the ones most of you guys do, at least not on a regular basis.

However, I'm sticking to the small buisinesses. I've found one in particular, called Anos' Pizza, and it's friggin' sweet. Nine times out of ten, they're delieivering withing five minutes of the time I've set for the delivery, the food's always hot, freshly prepared and tasted, well, great. Along with the fact that they don't only deliver pizza, but all kinds of food from chicken wings to burgers and fries halps as well ;)

The price is fairly cheap, too, cheaper than most other places I could order stuff at. In fact, I can order stuff for 8 bucks and am totally stuffed afterwards. And delivery's free as well. Last but not least, I can easily order online and be done with it in about five minutes, so it checks that box, too.

The few times I actually had Domino's or Pizza Hut, I though it was... Okay. But nothing too special, but then again, I think I'm just pretty darn spoiled by the alternatives I have available.

Thus, scrap the big franchises, look for a nice, little pizzeria - best option by far 👍

Same. Domino's Tracker satisfies the geek in me while I'm waiting. :D

Speed is another factor. When they say 30 minutes, they mean 20.

Iv never had a problem with dominoes myself, I went on a run last autumn of getting two for tuesday with my housemates every tuesday for 3 months :) I lived right round the corner from one so got it like 10 mins after order and it always tasted fine. I dont think I've been to/ ordered from hut in the last 5-10 years at all lol, purely cos there isnt one close to me

Papa John's is my preferred pizza delivery place - by far the best fast pizza place where I live. Domino's is just grim and I haven't had Pizza Hut in years.

Up here in the Great White North, when it comes to chains, I tend to use Pizza Pizza most often (they definitely have the best online system). Pizza Hut changed their dough and/or cheese a year or so ago, because the last time I had stuffed crust it definitely didn't taste the same, sadly. They still do have that awesome lunch buffet, though...

There's also a pretty decent Chicago-style joint nearby when I let the inner fat-kid make the dinner decisions, and while it's not quite as good as the real thing, it's very close. Or, going the complete opposite direction: Pizzeria Libretto in Toronto has thin-crust pizza that's actually certified authentic by the VPN. They don't mess around, and it's fantastic.

I'm pretty sure I've had pizza at least once a week for the past... 12 years, in one form or another

I've never had papa's til I met my GF, before that it was pizza hut or dominos, whichever was cheaper. PH had the stuffed crust which was a favorite. Once I had papa's it wasn't even a comparison and I've never been back to pizza hut or dominos. It just tastes much better.
Still, with so many pizzerias in the chicagoland area, I have delivery only 2-3x times a year. It's just better to drive out to bacci's or giordano's or uno or gino's east or my favorite PEQUOD's, even if it's a 45 minute drive.

Well, what shall I say...I was hungry.

And about the availability in Europe: it's mainly Dominos, Pizza Hut and small, local delivery services. At least in mainland Europe, not too sure about the UK and Ireland.

Stupid tracking cookies now pizza adverts are popping up all over the screen and making me hungry. :grumpy:

Pizza Hut isn't bad, but when I used to deliver for them when I was a teenager...let me tell you, THAT is a bad job.

When I was in college, it was all price + speed. So, we ordered Papa Johns a lot. They were close to campus and had student discounts (it was like 6 bucks for a large or something). Taste wasn't that bad either, especially for the price.

Now though, it's all about taste. Pizza Hut is our go-to pizza maker, but we usually don't get delivery, just eat it there or pick it up on the way from other errands. Occasionally we hit up a Mazzio's lunch buffet, but not that often. I hate their crust.

Then of course, there's always...

I love Little Caesars!! :)

$5 pizzas and crazy bread. Decent food on the budget. We do get Little Casesars sometimes too.

Of course pizzerias are usually better, but for a price (and sometimes a drive). So those are few and far between.

Pizza Pizza is great for their 40 mins or its free delivery system. When I lived with 2 of my friends, it was Pizza Pizza atleast once a week, and we learned when the best time to order was so our chances of free pizza's were even greater.

And I know what you're talking about with the stuffed crust. Thats the exact time we stopped getting from them, although I think it actually goes back atleast 3 years around here.

Fair enough. ;)

How about Telepizza? It's a Spanish company and predominantly sells on the Iberian Peninsula, but I thought it was also known throughout Europe.

Domino's? Hell no. I had the pizza before they redesigned their recipe and it tasted like cardboard with wet tasteless sauce on it. With the new Domino's recipe it was so-so and never got any good impressions from it. I loved Pizza Hut as a kid but in my last order the pepperoni lover's pizza was greasy, vile(dark yellow cheese and a crispy crust, must of overcooked it to get it finished in 15 minutes), really turned my stomach, and the female Cashier was talking to another woman and never paid any attention to me until I interrupted her talk. The pizza tasted better when I warmed up the leftovers in the stove at home. I know for a fact that Pizza Hut tasted better before they changed their recipe's.

Nowadays I just put some frozen pizza in the stove if I have a crave for pizza since it's very easy to do and tastes a lot better than regular fast food take out. So I rarely eat from take out and it makes me wonder why my older brother subjects himself to Domino's when he orders pizza since that stuff is nasty.

^This X three. While I have the Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Little Cesear's options... The local place (Jockamo's) is the best hands down. :D --- Randy ;)

One we have around here (Pizza King) has been around for about 50-60 years. They only have one kind of crust but they have fresh toppings and their pizza is delicious, and low priced too. They do not do delivery and they are not open on Mondays but they don't have to. There are lines out the door almost all night everyday they are open.

The only delivery pizza I get is Papa John's bbq pizza. But that's only when I find a really good coupon because I can't justify paying full price for a delivery pizza.

Pizza Hut, Papa John's, and Dominos (but only recently) have all been good to me. Quick service and great pizza. I love the taste of all three. I prefer TASTE first and foremost 'cause that's all it's about, isn't it? I've never had to wait more than like 10-15 minutes for it to get here, and it's gotten to my house in less than 5 before, no matter which pizza place you're talking about, so delivery time isn't really an issue for me. I dunno, maybe I'm just lucky?

I've been to Little Caesar's and Primo's before and they were both excellent, although I strangely prefer the three listed above. I'm starting to get tired of Pizza Hut though, I've had it a lot lately...but their breadsticks are FANTASTIC. I'm really curious to find out what the "Pizza-X" local pizzeria at my university tastes like when I start classes there this fall.
