Players mass selling their own tuned cars

So there is a big difference that I would like to point out between Forza and Gran Turismo that isn't decal and visual customization. Its the sell price difference and the fact that some cars you can only get rid of (really, that is just a rip off)! Cars in Forza that are modified get you back anywhere from 60 to 90% back, while this game, its under the price you bought the car at, if they let you earn anything at all (real rip off). Either can we have that fixed or can we sell modified cars by having a community dealership zone and uploading what we think are good cars? Players put their cars up for mass sale and other players can buy the car if they don't have much time to modify one for their needs or the money. And they can still modify it from there, but the car will only allow the reigning upgrades that haven't been made. They can even choose a logo and name their shop! Can we do this?

No, there isn't an option to sell cars to other players in GT6.

As for cars that you can't sell at all, isn't that just the cars you've received as prizes? If so, then at least you don't need to feel ripped off by it. There are plenty of credits available within the game though. It doesn't take much effort to earn them. 👍

Not just prize cars. I bought the GTS-R of the Tomahawk and it won't let me sell it.

And I was asking if there can be an update that allows you to make your own tuned cars brand like HKS or Tommy's (original Forza) and sell them for a tenth of the total price per car

Ah, ok then. Maybe that car is treated the same as if you won it though because it was definitely available as a prize at one point. Perhaps all of the Vision GT cars are treated that way?

That seems so unlikely at this point that I would stake my reputation on it not becoming an option for GT6, ever.

Like I said though, if you play the game a bit more, the credits will come to you & you'll be able to buy many cars. 👍

I think that there is an upper limit. Cars more expensive than x credits can't be sold.

IIRC, VGT's can't be sold for credits.

I feel I should also mention something, just in case @CNCharger is under the wrong impression.
This website isn't operated by the same people who own/develop Gran Turismo.
Furthermore, the replies you've received so far from @eran0004, @TS040 & myself, are merely replies from fellow players/fans of GT & we're not staff members at this website.

I only mention this because the tone of your questions suggests that you think you're asking questions of the game developers directly.
Apologies if I'm wrong but I thought I should check that you knew this. 👍

oh

It does let me sell the Tomahawk X, which I also bought, but why not the GTS-R

Thats GT5. In GT6 you can sell it with upper payback limit of 2 million credit.
That's not correct. If you've bought a car for 20,000,000 it sells for 12,000,000 (Edit: 6,000,000) in GT6.

I still suspect that it's just prize cars that can't be sold for credits. The VGT cars could be a red herring because they've all been available as prizes but are all also available to buy.

Perhaps the author of GTPedia, @Famine, can enlighten us a bit more?

Like in real life, the last time I sold one of my own cars in GT was over a decade ago...

I've been selling some to avoid having to use the Stockyard. I just thought it might be something you'd looked into.

From what I've noticed so far, it does seem like it's just prizes that don't give a return on selling. However given what others have said here so far, I could have that completely wrong.

To clarify my conjecture:

Many cars, not just the VGT's, have been available as prizes. They are all also available to buy.
My conjecture is that the method by which a particular car entered your garage determines whether or not you can sell it for credits.

I've won cars from Seasonal Events while previously owning the exact same car several times. If I click "sell" on the one I'd bought, tuned & painted there are credits offered. If I click "sell" on the new one (just won for the event), no credits are offered.

I hear yes and no, it can and it can't. I need proof that you can or can't sell with a 2 million credit payback! A video would be best.

That's a Ferrari 330 P4 '67.

Since GT has always tried to simulate reality to a point, with cars degrading over time, and needing maintenance to keep maximum performance.
Then you go to sell your well cared for car to find out it has lost over 2/3 its value, getting worse as mileage accumulates.

I tend to keep every car unless it is a duplicate of something.

I liked the sell on Ebay feature in Race Driver Grid, you could sometimes sell a car for more than you had in it by setting the auction up right.

Shift 2 gave you every dollar back I think.
