Reveal how good the sounds on the game are.... The TVR V8S sounds so amazing I just could not believe how good it sounds. Coming out of the speakers it doesn't sound like much but with head phones it brings out the audio. The Zr1 also sounds really good. The Enzo on the other hands sounds awful and very un Ferrari like and more like an Integra or something.

I tried a few cars and the sounds are pretty darn good, even the RS6 has a deep V8 sound. The Integra's V-Tech sound is one of my favorites. it only kicks in at high rpms. Bottom line is I'm very satisfied by the sounds when using head phones or ear buds.

GTPSP Sound 9/10(-1 for the Enzo lol)

I just bought the headphone adaptor thingy for my PSP yesterday, and like you, I'm amazed at how much difference it makes! You can hear a lot of the background engine noises, and also tire squeal and kerb-riding sounds so much better. I tried the GT-R SpecV and Ford GT and they sound exactly like their counterparts in GT5P! The external speakers don't do this game justice.

I agree that some cars are still way off though. The Enzo and Veyron are prime examples.

Also used a high quality "around ear" headphones and will also confirm the improved sounds.

I encourage anyone to try this.

The build-in speaker is very bad in sound quality. I used to play Patapon without the headphones, once I bought the adaptor for travel need, I heard so many sound effects which I had missed before.

I found most of the cars sound too generic, and they became annoying when I tried to win more money each day.

I use some cheap earbuds mostely. because it's so loud at work. every now and then I use my Audio Technica DJ cans.

787B... best sounding car ever, even if it's a little quiet in game.

I run my PSP out to my TV with component cables, and my TV's audio output goes to my Sony stereo system... and I have to say the game sounds amazing for a handheld.

The PSP's internal speakers do it no justice whatsoever.

Many cars sound fantastic in GTPSP, i'd even say they sound better than gt5:Pro. (with headphones on)

Agreed. The best sounding cars that I have come across so far are the 787B, the TVR speed 12 especially on tickover and the corolla rally car with it's backfiring exhaust.

Ah, I'm sitting on 1.1mil i never have enough for those 3mil cars. I have just one 2 million car I think. There is an echo effect i think when driving near walls. You can also hear the turbo whine of cars behind and on the sides of you. pretty cool.

I have also noticed with the headphones, when you drive over the rumble strip with the left tires the sound comes through the left side, and the opposite is true, as well.

Neat.

There's also 360 sound. I was watching a replay where the camera does a 360 around the car and you could actually hear the difference; more pure engine sound up front fading to loud exhaust note in the rear... nice

Yeah, Playing GTPSP with headphones is awesome, I love the sound of VR35DETT roaring from GT-R SpecV '09, You can imagine that you're in the real GT-R! 👍

Yep, sounds great with my Creative HQ-1700, love the GTR engine sound and the Speed 12 as well. Gotta try the 787B, since its one of the greatest engine sounds ever produced :)

Just bought a Woodone JGTC Supra but it still has the lame sound from GT4 not the amazing roar like on GT4:Prologue.

For those who didn't get to play GT4:P this is what I mean:

GT4:

GT4:P: (The quality is poor but you can still here the difference)

Headphones makes all the GT's sound much better for me, I recently started using headphones on GT5P and you can pick up the faint sounds (like turbo spool and blow off) so much better. GT PSP is the same though it has more and better enviromental sounds with prologue lacks (fully expected in full GT5).

I thought GTPSP's sounds were super-compromised - I wasn't using headphones. Then I saw this thread, found some Nintendo DS earbuds with no left/right labels in an electronic junk pile and popped them on. Have to turn the PSP to max volume (PSP-1000) to hear anything, but it sounds pretty darn good. Was extra surprised by the 360 sound.

Get yourself some decent headphones. :sly:
