Hi all,

I've just upgraded from a Driving Force wheel to a G25 (skipped the DFP) and find that a cockpit is now a requirement rather than a luxury...

I've been looking at the Playseat Classic as it is rather cheap, and notice that while Playseats will sell their more expensive models with an adaptor for the G25's gearlever unit, they don't advertise this adaptor for the Classic. Is anyone using a G25 with the Classic seat, and do they still rattle and bend as the old threads here were saying they did in 2005 or so? I do think that their newer seats look better but at £250 with gearlever adaptor it's pricy enough to make me consider building my own.

Sorry if this particular combination has been covered already... I couldn't find it and all the posts I found on Playseats are quite old.

EDITED bekos mi speling wos louzy
EDITED again to remove reference to the VRC seat, as I found the link I was looking for.

Righty, I'll rephrase:

I've decided that it has to be the Evolution or A1GP seat, and the VRC seat is similarly priced..... any opinions on which one is the better one to go for?

Cheers for any voice 👍

Woohooo I got a response

Doesn't seem like anyone has experience of the both of them from the look of things. I went for the Playseat in the end, (A1GP instead of the Classic), for three reasons:

1) the chair is nicer looking
2) it's a bit higher off the ground which suits my computer application
3) it's tall enough to rest my head against. The VRC doesn't have a head rest. This probably isn't a problem but the VRC also looks very reclined, which is nice, but might make the neck sore after a 4 hour enduro.

The VRC appeared to have plus points as well, but ultimately the Playseat got my vote. I've taken delivery already. I got a white limited edition A1 - GP model with a Union Jack on the front and back - apparently the last one available in the UK!

Playseat's support was very good and the product itself seems well worth the money. I've only used it for one night but I'll have a thread on it soon, once I've used it enough to have something to talk about.

I just posted this in the Amazon.com discussion forums:

A piece of 1x12 lumber cut to the length of the Playseat foot pedal mount provides the separation needed for the G25 pedals to fit.

How the spacer is mounted is up to you. I chose to drill holes in the board to line up with the screw holes in the pedal set (which take M6 machine bolts). Some lag bolts through the board and the steel pedal plate take care of holding the board to the playseat plate. A single set of screws through everything would also work. A paper trace of the pedal set base works great as a drilling template for the pedal mounting screws.

After the spacer is added, the pedals fit perfectly. And--you don't have the annoying steering bar between your legs like you do in the Playseat evolution.

I saw on their website that it is possible to put the G25 on a Playseat Classic... I just got the Le Mans chair and it has a DFP on it now... but I will upgrade to a G25 in the near future... and then I will buy the necessary things from Playseats.com, It says its possible to add everything to the playseat classic...its just a bit more work... So we'll see...
