I found that the controller on ps5 takes some adjusting too.
It's a lot more sensitive than the ps4 controller.

Since the only thing i do on GTS is drift, the difference was quite notable. Or maybe i'm rusty, because i haven't touched GTS in a couple months.

I've heard that the trigger modulation is more abrupt than on the DS4...have you found this?

Not really true. I also have had my ps5 11 months now, and gts is identical in ps4 pro/ps5 apart from loading times.
Mine is **** and takes twice as long to shutdown as my ps4

And same live racing faults as PS4 PS% both same PS5 worst total techno junk box

Well my both PS4 and 5 are pretty much take the same time to shutdown I say, but I would not say it takes twice as long as my PS4.
I just can't fault anything between the 2 consoles I have got, but the PS5 has got better loading times than the PS4, but that is not big deal. Between the PS4 and PS5 the graphics to me are the same, so saying they are both junk is totally wrong and they are dam good consoles.

So, do I need to install the save data from my PS4 which I have put on a USB stick, or does the GT Sport online save automatically associate and install?

Back up via PS+ cloud on your PS4 and you should be good to go. I done the transfer via wifi like the 5 prompts you too and had zero issues. I may have lost a decal or something for a few days but nothing significant.

I did the same as @dlshearon except without the cloud back-up 👍.

A brief walkthrough.
