My poor old DFP still works alright... but with GT5 coming soon I think its time to upgrade. I'm trying to decide between the DFGT (can get this new for $80) and a G27 ($210).

I wouldnt mind too much spending big on the G27 if it weren't for a few concerns. I'm a bit concerned about the quality of the feel and force feedback vs the DFGT. To those who have played GT5P on both wheels, which do you prefer in terms of the "feel" of the feedback?

Also, I've heard the G27 has some problems loosing its center... has this been fixed on newer models? And are the paddles confirmed to work with the GT5 full release? I definitely need those paddles.

If you don't mind spending the money, G27 is your best bet for Logitech, or step up to a better pedal set with the Fanatec GT3 with clubsport pedals.

Unless you don't want an H-gate shifter, then get the DFGT and save your money.

I decided on the dfgt after all pd helped develop it and I am very happy.
The g27 is not as of yet confirmed as 100% compatible it also takes a bit more setting up and has more wires due to the gear shift console.

Note how close the lap times are :)times are @24min
If I were spending big money I would have chosen the Fanatec gt3 rs clubsport edition. but bang for your buck says the dfgt every time

You might as well wait. By the time GT5 gets released there will probably be a new logitech and 5 new fanatec wheels released. I bought a G25 for the first GT5 release date, and had it for over a year. I've sold it, and got a turbo s wheel so I could play forza while I waited.

You'll probably be able to get something really cheap by the time it comes out.
If I had to pick one though it would be one of the fanatec wheels. I love the turbo s. I like it alot more then the G25 in every way. The clubsport pedals are great, and with the addition of the clubsport shifter coming and a hand brake, it will be by far the best option. It seems like fanatec is always coming up with something else to add. That gives you something new to buy, without spending a ton of cash, and it will make it seem like you've got a whole new setup, Plus they add firmware updates that are constantly improving their product.

With the Fanatec wheels there is always something to look forward to. With logitech, once you buy it, that's it, nothing else to look forward to.

As a Fanatec Porsche Turbo owner i can highly recommend them. I just have the standard pedals and they are very good, apparently not as good as the G27 ones but trust me when i say they work well and i have been more than happy with them.

As for compatibility issues all of the above mentioned wheels will work 100% with GT5 i would be willing to bet a kidney on it.

paddles and clutch included in that bet? if so im very tempted towards the g27. you guys sure love your fanatecs though. I'd be hard to sway from logitech. Are there any known issues with the fanatecs as far as durability goes?

No, more durable than G25/27's and if you do get the occasional problem, then Fanatec support will replace the parts that are problematic.

Paddles will work for sure, my Fanatec wheel the paddles work with GT5:P so i don't see why they will go backwards. I'm sure GT5 will have a clutch implemented too.

As for issues, yes Fanatecs have some issues but so do G27's. However they are both top quality wheels from what i have seen and read and i'm sure you would be happy with either. Mine has caused me no problems at all, but that obviously doesn't mean you won't have any problems.

I got my Fanatec because it was actually substantially cheaper than a G27. $260AUD compared to $380AUD for the G27.

it was probably inevitable... i went with the g27. thanks to all who contributed though... i actually gave those fanatec wheels some serious thought. i hope i dont regret my choice.

Any of the wheels you choose, from DF GT, to G27 to GT3 RS V2 wheel, any one would you pick you wont regret your choice.

If you have choose something else, like the Ferrari wheel, or the Lambo wheel, then you would regret it.
